- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).

Second call from unknown Washington phone number in past 3 days. Other number was 253.382.9966
Called my cell phone. I do not answer calls that are UNKNOWN, a number not in my contact list, and I do not have voice mail for a reason - these types of calls are the reason I don't have voice mail. I hate these kinds of calls. Used to be with old land lines you could get an "unlisted" number, but for some reason, cell phone companies cannot provide that luxury! Come on cell companies, I would pay extra for an unlisted number.

The automated msg TO MY CELL PHONE began "This is Sara calling with a political survey" and mentioned something about a free cruise that I would only have to pay for port taxes or something like that. I chose option 9 to be removed from their call list.
Almost all calls coming from Northwest (e.g. Washington or Oregon) are spoofed using phone numbers no longer in service and possibly taken from foreclosed properties lists that were managed by realtors in the area. You can't find out who really made the call for spoofed numbers (all calls I receive from area code 360 are spoofed). You can find out if it is spoofed by calling the phone provider and then USE THE SPOOFED NUBMER TO ACCESS THE phone providers customer service rep.
Once you find it is spoofed, you can't do anything. I called the FBI to complain, but evidentially a lot of people do and they were RUDE TO ME. I called my congressperson to tell them to do something about the problem and that the FBI wasn't interested in feedback from the public.
Honest people have trouble maintaining their identity while crooks flaunt the law. Something is wrong with this picture.
This number came up on my cell phone with no name. Damn telemarketers are now calling my cell phone!
