How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Another telemarketer. Caller ID said 352-680-9688 at Ocala, Fl
Got the same type of call twice in a row. One from a 1-866 number a another from from this number right after... both were identical. I pressed 1 and got to talk to a person, but when I said I was in the DNC list, they hung up immediately. Called the number back, but got an error message saying it doesn't exist.
Look up "Caller ID spoofing scam" on google
These guys have called many times before. I wish I knew how to stop them.
ID showed Out of Area..msg on answ. svce was for a mortgage solicitation.
DO NOT CALL THIS
I didn't answer it
Number called and showed Nadine Council on caller id

Didn't talk to anyone. No message left.
"This is card services. There is nothing wrong with your credit card. We are offering you an opportunity to lower your interest rate." Then, THEY ASKED FOR MY CARD NUMBER! My mother did not raise any dumb daughters!
it is a scam: look at others who said YES to this service
my3cents.com
I was contacted by phone on 7/11/07 and was told I could save $3,000 to $5,000 and get an interest rate reduction to MAYBE 6.9% on my high interest credit cards. When I asked if I could think about it and call back I was told NO. There were a lot of red flags I should have clued into but this guy was REALLY good. He told me there were no out of pocket expenses but $990.00 was charged to my Visa card by Debt Safe not Versa Debt. When I tried to call the number he gave me to call anytime with questions I received the "all circuits are busy" message. I have been sick for days.....
Beware of anyone calling from Versa Debt! I have a feeling I've been scammed in a big way!
my3cents.com
The names i saw that may just be a cover up:
1. Account Services
2. First Debt Solutions
3. Debt Safe Inc.*
*(I'm not actually sure about this because i saw a listing on the BBB site, so it may be a d.b.a (doing business as). HINT and it "may" be the actual address/phone # on the BBB site.
atlanta.bbb.org
Navigation:
- Click on File A Complaint
Tab
- Insert the name of the
company #3
see what pops up. To my knowledge EVERYTHING "may" be correct.
UPDATE: The actual name of company is: Versa Debt
Got my check to other day and it said:
VersaDebt Corp
u didn't get it from here with all the new technology. who knows if they can trace the ip info.

Elderly adults beware, inform your elderly parents about this because they prey on these people b/c they usually say yes. It’s not a scam, just a services they offer (I believe is stupid unless you are in knee-deep debt) What they do is:
• Ask if you have at least $2,500 in credit card debt and your interest rate has to be above 5%
• They negotiate interest rates with your credit card company & it’s a fixed rate for the life of the card
• They inform us to say there is “no out of pocket expenses” but they charge your card a one time fee of (with your permission) $990.00 just to call your credit card company to lower your interest rate.
• The reason they ask for your card info to “qualify” is to find out if you have $990 to charge in order to “qualify” and if you do Congratulations Mr/Mrs. __________ you have qualified!!!!
•Caller ID numbers are false, they do not accept inbound calls (it says disconnected) so don’t bother. My company was located in GA and they do not tell you the real name of the company. What company would name themselves Account Services (Sounds like the name of the department not company), till this day I have four names of the actual company. I guess I’ll see what it is on the payroll envelope.
None of the information provided is not meant to slander or defame any particular company and none of the information provided is neither false nor misleading and is the truth to the best of my knowledge. This is just to provide information only.
HAVE A GREAT DAY
(forgive my spelling/grammar errors)
It was so frustrating working there, they lie about the job description just like they coach you to lie to the people you are calling by using the script. These reps are paid by commission and not hourly so don't expect to speak to any supervisors because time and calls are money. Simply tell the representative REMOVE MY NUMBER FROM YOUR CALLING LOG, provide it and note the date you provided it to them in case you get a call back. It's just like e-mail spam, if you just delete it you'll have more in your inbox the next day but if you unsubscribe from their site they stop after a few days. Hanging up does not help - the automated service just calls you back at a later date.
They basically mislead prospective employees about the content, pay and requirements of the job and that's why I am no longer there and have reported them to the Department of Labor. I applied for a hourly receptionist position and hired me as a receptionist but that was not what I was doing and till this day they have that same job/position up on careerbuilder. Many people do not go there looking for that commission based call center position and the employee turnover rate is astounding. I left on good terms and these are not statements of a disgruntled employee, I was just applaud at how the do not call list/laws does not provide enough protection to consumers.
(Message too long: see below)

I was a former employee of this or a similar company so I know how they operate.
When you go shopping or inside of a department store and they ask you for your phone number (& you provide it), this maybe way companies like this get your phone number. Whether you are on the do not call registry or not (b/c you volunteered this info). This is what I was told while employed there, this may not be fact at all. I did not sign any confidentiality rules paperwork when employee so I believe I can provide what I know.
It is an automated computer services that call you not the actual representatives, so they actually do not have your phone number at all and that is why they ask for it.
On their end on the phone, it actually looks like you were the one that called them instead of the automated service. Option number 2 to remove your number basically does not work so don't waste your time.
The following states have laws that prohibit the use of automated services for telemarketing GA, PA, IN, and others (sorry I forgot). This is why they ask you what state you are located in and if you say "GA" they respond "sorry our services is not available in your state" when in fact they were not supposed to call in the first place. A manager there told me that it is legal because you pressed 1 to speak to a representative.
Message is too long. I will explain more below.
Luis A Caraballo (352) 680-9688 15 Emerald Crse, Ocala, FL 34472
PLEASE talk to the rep., pretend you're interested, and get a customer service number or web site. Use *57 to trace the call. Go to the FCC's web site for a complaint form 1088-C, and file one. You can also SUE THEM for $500 PER CALL - check the FCC web page! And contact your state Attorney General, they can sue also.
Call your phone service provider to see if they have a service that excludes all calls without a code or that are not on a list. Saves a lot of aggravation if that service is available to you. Good luck!
Go to:

and read the posts towards the bottom by Fmr. Employee
More crap from 'Card Services'. You may be able to find more info on any company name given by going to:
sunbiz.org - Department of State for Florida. Search for
Consumer Services. You'll find:
Spend some time going through those & you might find a hit for the
company that called you. You can also search for fictitious names etc.
My bet is that you'll not find any company of that name properly
registered in Florida (fictitious or otherwise). So, in addition to
reporting to them to the DNCL, report them to the Fla Dept of State.
'Card Services', et. al., has a rap sheet with the Federal Trade Commission, etc.
Now if you just type in the number in google this is what comes up ....
Luis A Caraballo (352) 680-9688 15 Emerald Crse, Ocala, FL 34472
I have never called it back but I feel sorry for the person if they don't know someone is using their number fradulently.
They were calling me all the time.
Calls several times but never leaves a msg.
Well misery loves company! These nuckles heads have been calling for months. But I just got around to google the number. Well Mikey, I had a guy on the phone for minumum of 5 minutes. I am young and angry, I just feel for the elderly who get taken by these guys. These people are the lowest of the low. Scum.
I called the FTC and explained that their form doesn't cover this. I passed on the name (bogus?) and the spoofed number they are currently using, as well as the number elle called.
The lady at the FTC said this will be put into the scam/fraud database! She also admitted that the form wouldn't handle this and calling was the right thing to do. I didn't mention their phone menus are VERY long and can lead you down the wrong path. I folled the credit card issue menu, but without a bank issuing it...
They called again. I tried to get a company number to call them back, They wouldn't give me one, but continued to say they were Consumer Services. I (3rd time) told them to remove my telephone number, and that I was on the no-call list! They hung up. The caller ID was as mentioned - a guy in FL. who doesn't exist at that number.
I guess that some type of regulation of VOIP is needed at the federal level to fix the phone number spoofing in the current VOIP systems, which do NOT have much security. I'll file another complaint with the FTC, which probably will not do anything AGAIN. Without additional security software in VOIP systems, it's to easy to spoof the caller's number, and by not using a valid company name, the FTC can't trace them down...
Once again they called when my baby was sleeping. Last time, she asked if I had over 2,500 in debt, I asked her what company she was from and she hung up on me. Today, he asked my first name, then hung up. I'd like to hang him up, by his balls!!! Why do they always call when the baby is sleeping? It is sooo infuraiting!
Yes credit card co,they say ,give you very low int rate, they try to get all your info, but really they are a search and recover service. They locate people on any debit even if its a late charge you think you dont own.If they get your info and send to co thet get 3 % commion.Play them will fake numbers and address's.They may even call you back stating numbers dont match, then laugh and tell them see I fooled you like you thought you fooled me!
No message
They called again last night, hung up when I picked up. I think we all should being calling the police dept out there in that town and let their phones ring off the wall with our complaints coming from their town
Like many when I press 1 and got a person and asked who are you they hang up. When I called back says no longr in servce. Jail is to good for these idiots.
Asked for my credit card info. When I asked why they didn't honor the national do not call list, the coward hung up on me. Reported them to DNC.
Same crap... third time in so many weeks. Same scam, different CID.
Tried calling number back and said it was not in service.
Here's a better suggestion: Copy & Paste & put near your phone. When they call, tell them you're almost there for the meeting that Luis invited you to. Tell them you forwarded your calls to your cell phone and you will be there in about 20 more minutes. Say, "I'm on Route 75 just getting into Ocala. Luis told me to get on 464 and take that to Emerald Rd where I make a left. Then I make the next left onto Emerald Course, and you're the first house... I'll see you shortly.
I am going to tell them the next time they call, that I will be in Ocala Florida in the next 24 hours and that I'd like to meet with them in person to discuss their advantages. If they do not hang up on me, I'm also going to tell them that I will be bringing my gun and I have a bad temper.
My 9 yr. old son answered the phone. They said something about my bank account. He handed the phone to my husband and the party hung up. Time of call 12:30 pm 8/4/07.
This dame lady calls everyday about lower interest then hanges up when I ask her first ?? something is not right...
when i called the number back it said "this number is not in service at this time" will report it to DNC and FCC
p.s. according to googel Luis A Caraballo at 15 Emerald Crse, Ocala, Fl, 34472 has listed this phone number. Who knows.....
I let the answering machine pick up. They didn't leave a message, called at 6:30 pm on a Friday. Caller ID said Ocala Florida.
They called, but as usual, left no message. Just like all the other BS scammers.
Press 1 to lower my interest rate, 2 to disconnect. Pressed one and some answered laughing wildly and saying something about loosing 5000 in credit debt and hung up on me half way thru the sentence still laughing.
8/3/2004. I pressed one and after waiting about 90 seconds, phone hung up. They are NOT my credit card company, as I do charity debt counseling... I DON'T OWN A CREDIT CARD.
This is a telemarketing firm. They are trying to get you to sign up for their "low interest" credit card to "consolidate" your current cards.
The call said they were consumer services and they were watching my credit card account
got a recorded message that they were calling about my credit card, pressed one to find out what was going on. some lady got on the phone and wanted personal info, i asked who is this? and she hung up on me. called the # back, and it is a non-working #. but the weird part is that my redial is a different #?? 352-680-9688 called and my phone when i hit that on the caller id called 352-680-9328??
BEWARE!!! they pretend to be your credit card company lowering your interest rate and want you to give them your credit card number for verification!
Recorded message, auto-dial marketing scam. Forget to look at caller ID...got a recording at the other end. GRRRR. Isn't there SOME way to stop these people? There's no room for anything even remotely legitimate (even the non-profits) when it comes to telephone marketing.
Looks like spoofed number from a sales scam
I report and report and is anyone ever going to solve it. Maybe it does no good to be on the DNC list as they use it as a source.
About your credit.
Received call from 352-680-9688. I let the machine pick it up. No message.
When will the phone companies learn, that if they let scammers like this forge their phone number - we all just have to stop having a home phone!
In addition to filing another "Do Not Call" list complaint at ftc.gov, today I contacted AT&T about this seemingly fraudulent use of the telephone system -- but after routing through four tiers of customer support, AT&T doesn't seem to care (?).
Got a call from this number today when I wasn't home. My husband is in that area this week so I thought it may be him from a hotel, thanks for clearing it up for me!!!
Answering machine picked it up. I didn't hear it all but it was about a credit card and said to press 1 to talk to an operator or 2 to be removed. The name on the caller ID was Caraballo, Luis.
- unknown caller - checked number, get Florida name
I got the recording as of FRI AUG 03 2007 @ 11:45 AM CST.
I am getting sick of these annoying calls AND these people should be caught and be place behind the jail bars for good AND a sentence for life in prison WITH no bond.
just kept ringing and ringing ..........
Just got the call, didn't answer but came here and saw this. Perhaps this is the start of the Certegy sale of account information. It's the only thing I can think of since we're on the DNC list also.
Did not answer. Recognized number from previous call. Claimed to be a credit card co I had business with but were not. Number showed from Silver Spri Fl this time. The other time from Ft Walton Fl. Sister-n-law also receiving same phone calls. She lives over 100 miles away.
Same deal, I pressed one and when she started her bit, I asked for a callback number in case we got disconnected and then she hung up on me. So I guess I will have to be subtle next time in trying to get info out of them.
Just had a call from them today and after no answer they called again but hid their number and got my Privacy Manager message.
I pressed 1 to talk to an agent. A lady asked if I was calling about the credit card offer. I asked who the company is and she disconnected.
same people called using the number 9545150358. They hang up if you ask for the company name to be stated clearly.
Called this number back and the recorded message is that it is no longer in service.
Why is this person calling me!!!
Called today while I was at work
Same thing...pressed one, asked me if I'd pressed one to lower my interest rate, I said, no, to get a live operator. He hung up.
Just got this call around 830pm...woke my 7 month old up..hung up before I even heard a voice...this pisses me off to no end
same results as most everyone else here. Pressed 1 and a woman came on the line asking if I had pressed 1, I think she was surprised to get a caller. Anyway, asked what company she represented and got hung up on.
I just got a call from this number and i told the person that they need to remove my number and stop scamming people. I got a call yesterday from 207-412-1069 please keep an eye for this number as well.
They called on my facsimile line at 2:07 PST today. Google gave the Florida number. Thanks, friends, for explaining the "spoof" caller ID. I would have believed it was a wrong number from Fla.
Got a call just now from them but did not answer. No message and googled to find this site. We are on the do not call list and are not getting many calls so we were surprised to get this from a scammer.
Several calls to my home from this number, when I call it back, I receive a recording that this number is not in service! Smells like a scam alright!
"My" credit card company offering to lower my APR. I pushed "2" to refuse, and actually got a computerized response-"You have been deleted."
called twice in a row. i added the call to my blocked caller list
This sounds like credit card pshing.
It is the same recording as calls I get from a Cancun Mexico number.
If you call the number back it reports that the number is no longer in service. I googled the number and it comes back to Luis A Caraballo (352) 680-9688 15 Emerald Crse, Ocala, FL 34472
Background noise sounded like caller was in a nightclub. I called the number back and an answering machine picked up and the person identified herself as Angie Meeker....leave a message. I hung up and called the PD to report the call.
Mess was about vehical warrenty protection quote
I actually got to a person. I have a very good feeling most of the calls I am getting are from this same scammer. I have reported the last number that came up on CLID and will report this one to the FCC as well.
I get a call from this company every other day, just different caller ID (or none) and ask to be removed every time I can get through.....which of course does nothing but at least when I sign the affidavit I can say I requested removal and was denied.
EVERY DAY THIS MACHINE CALL!!!
We are really tired of all these calls from telemarketers. One asked for my husband and I asked what the call was about and was told it was none of my business. The phone was listed in my name. I sm going to drop my land line.
called said they wanted to give me a lower interest rate, when I told them I didn't have a card from them they hung up, I called back the number, It wasn't in service
A recording that wants to sell you car warranty
I talked to them and then just made up some bogus numbers for a credit card. Hope they waste their time on this one.
just googled the phone number 352-680-9688 and it shows the number belongs to
Luis A Caraballo with an address of:
15 Emerald Crse, Ocala, FL 34472

Nonsense. Will report call to DNC, even if it gets me nowhere.
recieve this about once a month...has always been there is presently no problem with your card but we can lower your interest rate...........call back gives "not in service"
If she calls back or if you get her again say something along the lines of Hey baby DAMN but you sound hot!! You wanna come over to my place or something? You know, get really suggestive or get into it, well, I can't print it here on the board but you can use your imagination! Go get some!
No, man, instead of like calling her all them names, talk dirty to her and get her all like, you know, hot and bothered, or if she don't get it for you, then at least it will make her blow her cool. ha ha!!
Since last night at 7:29pm I received 4 calls. One from this number, then 3 that were Unknown Name and unknown number. Anyway, I've been hitting '1' to get to a person, but it always just goes dead. Anyway, after my THIRD call today, I hit '1' and 'heater' answered. I called her every name in the book. As obscene as I could make it to try to get her to blow her cool. I have to admit that she was sharp. She stayed cool and finally asked me if calling a woman those names made me feel good. I responded calmly something along the lines of no, calling unethical slime those names felt good and asked her how she felt working for an unethical company. She insisted that everything they did was 100% legal. And I asked her how it wasn't fraud when they are hacking their system to trash the ANI packet was ethical.
Anyway, I managed to keep her on the phone for 2 minutes and 17 seconds, according to my phone monitor.
Ok, I shouldn't have gotten obscene, but I was trying to make her blow her cool on this. But I have to admit, she was a tough cookie! I can respect that!
Ok, I'm up to 2:17. Who can do better wasting their time? I'm shooting for 5 minutes the next time I finally get someone!
These scumbags keep calling. It's a recording stating I should call aabout my credit. I have turned their number in to DNC. Wish they would rot in hell or rot in jail!
Don't talk to these scumbags!! RIP OFF!! Google Ricahrd A Brennon, RTC Corp, Freedom for today
Wanted credit card info so they could lower my interest rate. SURE.They probably had some great ocean front property in Arizona at a super price also.
seemed to be no-one there when answered - unknown caller - checked number, get Florida name
This number is a Predictive dialer, IT WILL ONLY RESONE WHEN IT HEARS A VOICE ON OUR SIDE,Good for you mikey,we need to get smarter with these people
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS talk to these people, but tell them nothing. Ask for info. Ask questions about the program. Make them HUNGRY. Keep them on the phone for as LONG AS YOU CAN!
I got my call today, too. The CLID is spoofed and the call probably originates from India. No sense in reporting to DNC for outside US calls. You're wasting waaaaay more of your time than the call did.
I called the number back and it is not in service.
SCAM - BEWARE!!! they pretend to be your credit card company lowering your interest rate and want you to give them your credit card number for verification!
Thx for suggestion, I just complained to the FCC.
Recorded Credit card spam bullshit. Report them to DNC ASAP!!!
Press 1 to be put through to customer service, press 2 to be removed. When you press 2, you're cut off. The CLID is spoofed to a number that is no longer in service.
