Another cardholder services call

2009-08-13 17:16:51 UTCH.

I used to get calls all the time from 352-000-9876 same message. Now they are using a new number 561-000-4286 I pressed #9 and ask them to take me off there list and again she hung up on me.
The first time they called he acted like he was with my cardservice company when he ask for my credit card numbers to lower my rate I said well you should have my card numbers he said he had my credit report but the numbers are encryptic and he needed me to give them to him, yell right.

My telephone company suggested answering the call and then leaving the receiver off the hook. It prevents their computer from dialing the next number. It may take a couple of times but they will notice when their computer is interrupted for a length of time and will remove the troublesome number (yours) from their list.

Another Rachel Robocall from Card Services. Indiana Attorney General is investigating these people. Wish something would be done and they'd be fined simply because I'm tired of getting their calls. How many times can you tell these people to bugger off?

I got all the same information as the others.
I called the 1-866-941-6441 and they had no idea what I was speaking about. The woman who answered claimed the phones were not turned on---who does business without phone service and how did I get through? Dishonesty will always find a reward in turmoil. The best thing to do is call your State offices and tell them that all phone parasites need to find honest employment.

A recorded message told me that they were calling with information to lower my credit card debt---we have no credit cards. When they said to push 9 to speak to a representative, I did so. I got Regenald who asked if I wanted to lower my debt. As soon as I said "No" . . . .I want to have my name removed, he hung up on me. We are on the do not call list. They do not seem to be helping.

Totally Bogus CC company. They wanted info to 'lower my interest rates'. Just for a laugh I gave them info on a card that had just expired about a month ago. Within minutes the real MasterCard called my other line saying that someone was in the process of trying to pull money from my dead card. No money lost but now the CC company can try to track them down.

Computer recording said it wanted to lower my interest rate on my credit cars, press 9 to talk to someone, so I did, asked who they were he says we are account services from Visa and Mastercharge, claimed he worked for the company, then says you pressed 9 to lower your rates, and wanted to verify my personal info, instead I told him, interesting you want to lower rates on cards I don't have, plus I'm on the do not call list at which point the line went dead. Looked up the number because it looked phoney, 352-000-9876 yeah right, which is how I got here to post this. Even tried calling it back and of course it wouldn't go through, no such number out there

Looks like they've found another area code to use. I'm reporting it to the federal no call registry.

I have learned how to deal with these calls. Reporting the number that is on your Caller ID to the FED or your state’s Attorney General does no good because it is usually either a forged number or it is a number that can not be associated with the caller, and therefore cannot be used to identify the real caller.

You need to get a REAL number that can absolutely identify the caller in order for the FED or your state Attorney General to be able to sue the real culprit. The only way to get that real number is to talk to the caller and turn the tables on him!

When you get this type of call feign interest. That means that if the recorded message asks you to press 9 then go ahead and press 9 to talk to a live person. While they give you their pitch, keep feigning interest. Sound excited that you may be able to have your interest rate reduced. Keep them talking. If they ask you a question, answer it, but don't answer it truthfully (and NEVER give them your Credit Card number or anything else that is real).

After a couple minutes you will have them hooked. That is when you have to go to the bathroom, or check the oven, etc. Ask them if you can call them back in a few minutes and get a phone number from them. Chances are they will give you a real number (and their name). Call that number back a minute or two later and ask for the person that you were speaking to. Talk to them just long enough to ensure that you are talking to the same person and that the same conversation is being continued. At that point, tell them that you are on the Do Not Call List and that you want to be placed on their own internal DO NOT CALL list. Also, let them know that you now have a valid phone number to report to your state of the FED.

I did this a month ago after receiving dozens of calls offering me to reduce my interest rate. When I asked if I could call back I got the number ‘1-866-942-6441’ along with the company name ‘Sapphire Financial’. I called back a minute later and spoke to the same person and the conversation picked up where it left off.

I was able to report all this to my State’s Attorney General and because they have a verified bonafide phone number, the AG can sue the company, which they are in the process of doing so now. Now when they call (and they continue to call) I feign interest so that I can get a verified, bonafide number that can be used to SCREW them both legally and royally 

Until you can get a verified bonafide number, there is nothing that you can do. If you can get a verified, bonafide number, the FED or your state’s Attorney General can do something,

By the way….If you do feign interest and they don’t give you a number when you ask….just tell them that you will just call 1-866-942-6441 and ask to speak Jennifer Sallies instead. More than likely they will be calling for Sapphire Financials and hearing their real number and the owner’s name will really BLOW their mind.

Have some fun at these jerks expense rather than getting aggravated 

Same exact message that Reggie states below. Pressed 9 as instructed ONLY TO GET THE NAME OF THE COMPANY HARRASSING US, could not get through to anyone. Very odd ringing sounded similar to making an international call after pressing 9. Almost glad the connection did not go through.

WE ARE CALLING ABOUT YOUR CREDIT CARD. THERE IS NO PROBLEM BUT YOU NEED TO TALK TO SOMEONE ABOUT LOWERING YOUR INTEREST RATES. THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE. PUNCH 9 TO SPEAK WITH A REPRESENTIVE.

I too have started receiving them... What you see on your caller ID are spoofed numbers (fake generator phone numbers)...Everyone should call the FTC (Federal Trade Commission). This will get the Federal Gov involved. 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357)

Partial message about "YOU NEED TO TALK TO SOMEONE ABOUT LOWERING YOUR INTEREST RATES. THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE. PUNCH 9 TO SPEAK WITH A REPRESENTIVE."

Didn't answer, no msg left. Anything with 000 for a prefix looks mighty shady.

Bogus credit card company that wants to steal your CC info

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
