Stupid message about important you contact us about lowering your credit card interest rate. SCAM!
It was a recording pertaining to my credit card account (of which they made sure they notified me was in very good standing). I had one chance to take part in a special lower finance rate of 6.?% if I pushed key #9 at that time. This was a one time offer for their best customers. IT WAS A MIRACLE!!! I gave them the dial tone!!
Credit Card scam - claim they work with all banks 500+ to lower your rates. "Want to put you through to a financial advisor". When I asked the name of their institution. they say "Credit Card Services" - no such registered business. Online portal with that name that seems to be getting calls with complaints about the exact calls that we are talking about here. When I said that is not name of a company to the caller from this # - the person hung up on me :). I call the number back and the mailbox is full. Hmmm I wonder why???
nothing but a hang up on my voice mail.
very short partial word that sounded like "elp" -- left on voicemail.
Didn't recognize the number so I let it go to voice mail. According to other reports, it's a phone scam.
NWYRCYZN06 NY 347-461-4863 This is Amanda from cardholder services I hung up on her!
We received the call around 7:00 p.m. After a hesitation, a recorded message said: "This is Joseph from Travel Services. Due to a recent purchase you made locally. . ." At that point I hung up. A caller ID of NWYRCYZN06 NY certainly looks suspicious to me. I made no purchase having anything to do with travel. I am on the Do Not Call list and am really sick and tired of getting these nuisance calls.
I received a call at 3:55 pm on Oct 28, 2010, when I was out, un-answered.
Caller-ID just says "New York",
reverse lookup says it's in Whitestone, NY, next to Brooklyn, NY, i.e. NYC.
Calling back I get a brief voicemail introduction, not understandable.
I reported this place to the Do not Call Registry. We have been on the list since 2005. If you get a recorded message it is against the law. If you have not used the Do Not Call registry, you can still file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. I now keep a list of all scam numbers and report each and every one of them. It takes time, but it has been somewhat effective. Even found the email of one such company and sent them a confirmation from Do not call that we were on the list and that it was against the law to call us. I told them I would be contacting my lawyer, and that I would report them no matter how many times they called: once a month, once a week, daily, hourly even if that is what it took to get rid of them. It worked in that case. So keep it up and report these jerks.
i hate when people call long distance and do not leave a message
This is an Identity Theft phishing scam - once they get your Credit Card/Bank number they charge thousands of dollars on it. They did NOT "GET YOUR NUMBER FROM SOMEWHERE". It uses a sequential number Auto-dialing computer (Calls EVERY phone number by adding 1 to the previous phone number) and is run by criminals.... they could care less about the Do-Not-Call list. The phone number seen on Caller ID is "spoofed", which means it is not the number from which the call was placed - they just pick some random number to use when the computer dials the calls. In all probability, the calls are coming from Russia, Nigeria or another one of the countries that are known for email scams - IT IS THE SAME PEOPLE that send out Email phishing scams! The worst thing you can do is answer, that validates your phone number as a "real" phone number. It is then added to a list that they originator uses REPEATEDLY to call you... and then it is put on a list that is sold to other scammers (criminals, really) at a premium price, because it is then on a list of valid cell phone numbers!
It Is Criminals Calling, do not answer!
These useless and annoying calls are an intrusion and a waste of my work time. I have a home-based business and must answer telephone calls.
Recording of women's voice claims that this is not a message about your credit card being compromised etc...
Am posting this WARNING to all who receive from this number---why is this phone call suspect?
Because there has been a recent attack from criminals on Banks and Credit Cards Databases--some
of the criminals are from NY. No one from Verizon...would call you from a cell phone(like why would they?).
Any unrequested phone calls at this time from NY or from your state should be questioned; screen your calls, and montior all your accounts, and talk with your banks etc. The criminals from NY are most likey working
with other criminals in your state.
