Who Called Us

I've been getting calls from this number for about a week now. When I answer is just a automated voice mail and I don't have any account with citicard so I don't know why they keep calling me.

This number is calling me once a day. I do not know this number and I do not answer. No messages are left.

Just use the free phone tray to block the whole number from them.
336-52?-???? and 520-66?-????. From now on if there is an incoming call starting with these pre-fix #s will be blocked for good.

Citi Card. They are looking for someone's name who is similar to mine. I tell them nobody is here by that name. They keep calling anyway.

Citi calls about 4-6 times daily, all bills are current. I got sick of it and had my fax set to answer after the first ring.

I've been called 4 times a day the last 3 days... They're looking for someone named Scott... Sears credit card company (Citigroup, Citicards, Citicorp, all one and the same) collection department. Call from 7am-9pm manyyyyy times daily. I have all the CC companies and the different #'s they call from saved to my phone and save the ringtone as silent. That way I can actually look for work as they already know my situation and my layoff and not be disturbed!!!

The best way to handle collection calls is to call-forward to thier own number. It's a scream. Try it !

These people call 6-12 times each day, leaves no message. I am on the do not call list but they don't seem to care about the list! STOP THEM!!!

Called, I answered, got 20 seconds of silence and then it hung up.

This number called ALL day Christmas and Christmas Eve. I answered it the first 10 times and told them that the person they where looking for was not at this phone number. I didn't even know the person. But they continued to call. I had to end up turning my cellphone off on Christmas just to avoid the repeated phone calls. I had 8 missed called when I turned my phone on 3 hours later. Never left a message.

They call about 5-10 times a day. They are calling me because I paid over the minimum payment 3 days too early, and they are penalizing me for it!!!! They are actually penalizing me for paying over the limit early. Is that some bullshit or what?

I just filed a complaint with the FTC about them today. They call at least 6 times a day. They won't stop calling! They laugh and hang up, and argue with me when I tell them to stop calling. I even read them the rules from the FDCPA and they stated it did not apply to WV. The rules apply to everyone in the U.S.

i don't have any late/bad payments anywhere and i'm getting these calls (this happens about twice a year for a week or two at a time on my cell). i never answer it, and they leave heavy breathing sounds on voicemail. it's kind of funny. called three times today and it's only about half way through the day. maybe i'll answer in another language one of these times.

I called this number and they answer as 'Sears' then transferred me to Citibank, telling me that my card was 18 days over due by $69. This was true as I checked my account online. The customer service represented seemed to be aware of my account balance and activity, so it seems that this was a ligitimate (but annoying) call.

I also got a call on the same day from 336-522-8998. Both had nothing on the caller ID and nothing on the voice mail

When I called 336-522-8998. The person on the phone said she as from Sears Citibank accounts but could not give a reason why they called and stated that Citibank phones leave 336-522-8998 on the caller ID but that doesn't mean that this is the number the user is calling from. And stated that this is a problem Citibank is trying to solve.

When I called 336-522-8999. There was no answer.

I dont answer numbers i dont recognize and if they dont leave a message i dont bother to call the number back.

A pre-recorded message was left on my voicemail asking me to call them about my Citi Cards account.

For the past 5 days I have getting multiple daily calls on my cell phone from this number and 336-522-8998. I never answer my cell from numbers I don't know. I don't have any business with Sears and Citigroup so I don't intend to pick up. Will they ever give up?

I have written Sears to indicate calls are to stop and all contact must be in writing. this is a regulation from FTC. My next step is to issue a complaint to the FTC.gov website

For several weeks, I have gotten several calls a day from this number and similar numbers (520 662 8999, 336 522 8998, 502 522 9998, 520 662 8998). If I answered, they would ask for a name of someone who does not live here. Most often, I got the number off my caller ID. They NEVER left a message. If I spoke to a person, they weren't exactly rude, but hung up on me. I read here that the # is Sears or Citicard. I do not have an account with either. Here is what I did: I looked up the Cust. Serv. # for Sears credit cards (1-800-917-7700). I called and spoke with a cust. serv. rep, explained the problem. She first of all, verified that there are two accounts with Sears that have my phone number as the contact number in error. I verified with her that neither of these accounts were using the names or social security numbers of any of the members of my household (this is tricky, they understandably cannot give out private info. Offer to tell them the last four digits of your ssn and ask if it matches what is on file. The rep I spoke to understood my concerns about identity theft and put my mind at ease. I then asked her how to get my phone number out of their database. She told me to call the Collections dept of Sears (which answers the phone as Citicards- they are the parent group, apparently). The number is 1-800-733-1116. I called them, they were very apologetic and told me they would remove my phone number. I got calls for a couple days more. But it has now been a week and no more calls!

Been getting regular calls from this number for several days, finally decided to pick up today after reading comments here (since I have no Sears or Citibank accounts, I know it's probably for the people who used to have my number). Caller asked for someone who isn't me, verified that she was indeed calling (my number) and offered to take it off her list. She was extremely polite and friendly... but we shall see if the calls actually stop.

I called the number back, and they were very polite in removing my number from the list. I have no Sears or Home Depot card. The teller couldn't even find my number on their list - odd.

Calls repeatedly and then hangs up. This is illegal. Please complain to the Do Not Call registry if they are harassing you.

Has anyone tried filing a police report? I'd like to know what happens.

This number has been calling me for about a month now, every day, several times a day, starting at 7:45am all the way to after 8:30pm. I do not pick up calls if I do not recognize the number, and I only return calls if they leave a message. They have no left a message yet, so I will not return the call. I finally got sick of it and decided to google it to see if I could figure out who it was that was calling. Apparently is Citibank, for my Sears card. But I will not return a call unless a HUMAN leaves me a message to call them back with an extension to reach them...

This number as well as similar ones with 502 and 520 area codes have been calling my cell phone. No messages. I've yet to answer it. They usually call in the morning. Very annoying.

they are calling 10-12 times a day. I called to tell them they must have a wrong number. They wanted my account information and social security number . I told them no as I have no account with them .At that point they said they could not help me if I was unwilling to give them my info. Why would I give them my information when I have a account with them??!!!!

This is indeed Citibank collections. In my case, the woman was very rude.

I called the number back and it is Citigroup collecting for Sears Card. When I told them I did not have a Sears Card, they immediately removed my cell phone number from their list/database.

These people call several times a day, every day, never leaving a message and never saying who they are or what they want. I'm not answering the phone to find out, but I know that they think they have a reason to harrass me. They have been reported here as well as on the National Do Not Call website.

They have called my house everday for a month. I sometimes answer and there is no one on the line. Finally, today someone was there and they asked for "Michelle" and got a bit cranky with me when I said that I have had this number for five years and no one named Michelle lives here.

They are trying to call my ex, I gave them his number and they are still calling. It's been 4 years since my ex lived there and the house is owned by me.

They call at 8am till 8:30 pm. They don't leace messages. I just let it go to the answering machine. Were on time with all our bills.

Sears credit card through CitiGroup

No messages. Been going on for several weeks. Yesterday, took a call from a local area code and they said they had a job offer for my husband and when I asked company name they said Citigroup. I laughed and hung up!

I get calls every day, even the weekends. I never answer it, Thank heavens for caller ID. They still call every day with no message ever left.

I have never had any "Sears accounts".
Looks like scam.

They Call all the time.

They call the house about 7 or 8 times a day. I don't have a sears account and there is no kmart in my town. Its really annoying, they never leave messages, they just continually call! If they want to reach someone they need to leave a message with what they want. I'd be happy to talk with them and tell them to take me off whatever list they have me on.

Account has been brought current but the calls continue. They do not update status' and continue to harrass.

I was overdue 5 days with an $11.00 payment due on a $106.00 balance. They call 3-4 times a day and leave no message. I send payments when they have $0.00 due, does not seen right to do this to me for such a small payment/balance.

this is for sure sears (citibank) and also K-mart. They have been trying to collect late charges incurred on late charges for the past several months.

Call several times on my cellphone. I have an account with Sears/Citigroup, but owe nothing. I never answer the call as Caller ID just shows the number and Citigroup nevers leaves a message.

Asked for "Antoinette". Told them no Antoinette at this number.

Then they asked me for my last name.

Threatened to sue if they called me again.

Like many of you... I receive a call from this number at least two to three time daily and this includes Sundays.

This is one of several numbers (520-662-8998, 520-662-8999, 520-664-9698, 336-522-8998, 336-522-8999) I have received calls from Citicard as a result of a billing dispute. I have downloaded a program from Traysoft called Phone Tray Free which uses my computer modem to automatically hang up on these harassing calls after one ring. If you have a voice modem you call also have it play one of several messages available. The one I use emulates a disconnected phone. The program also logs date, time, and calling number of all calls. I offer this to allow others to fight back to these harassment practices. I also report each call to the do not call site.

I get calls everyday, multiple times a day. It says DATA CALL on the caller ID. If I answer it, no one is on the end, just beeping. When I returned the call, it was a citicard group for sears. The person I spoke with stated that my number was not in their system, so they couldn't do anything about it.

Yeah, get a call from them, but dont recall if they left a message or not. I dont believe I have a citicard!

Bill collectors from Citigroup (which also handles Sears). They also call from (336)522-8998, and probably multiple other names. They will call up to half a dozen times a day, using an autodialer. When you answer, if it detects a voice (such as you answering "Hello!"), it will then connect you with one of their bill collectors. There is usually a delay of a few seconds before the bill collectors come on the line (and your account pops up on their screen). If you pick up the phone and don't speak, it will not connect with the bill collectors and will hang up after about 12 seconds. They will be recording what you say if you do speak with them. Either don't answer at all, or answer it in Chinese (or pretend like you only speak Chinese!!!)

We get about 10 to 15 calls daily from this number. Leaves NO message. Sometimes we don't hear from this number for several months, and then it starts up again. We'll get bombarded for weeks with calls. Shows on caller as N. Carolina call with this number 336-522-8999

They are calling a Corporate cell number to collect a debt from a johnathon. This number has been in use for years and the calls started a month ago.

This is a citigroup number and is usually for people with sears home improvment accounts. They call me everyday.

They keep asking for my ex-husband. Called twice today. Told them both times he does not live at this number. Second time they asked if I had ex's new number. Told them "no"

Called ID said CitiGroup. I googled the number and everyone says it's a debt collection number. But I don't owe to anyone under CitiGroup???
