Who Called Us

They have called multiple times and decided to answer them because I wanted to know why they were calling. I told them that I was on the DNC registry and then they told me that they would notate that. Then about 25 minutes later, they called again and I told them that I would appreciate them not calling and that they have already called them and that I already advised them that I was on the DNC registry and to not call again.

I sure did give them a piece of my mind, got a taste of their own, thanks for providing the actual number behind this fake number (336-574-3000) - call this number and screw them!

They asked for my deceased sister name by 1st and last name?? Wtf?? I asked if I could help them then she replyed no then hung up.

Caller claimed to be doing a survey for the telephone company and then went into questions regarding politics. Wish they'd stop bothering us. They've called several times.

The number belongs to TTC Research. Their contact number is 336-574-3000. It's answered by a human being. I suggest you call them and give them a piece of your mind.

Calls from this number every few days. No message left. We don't answer unidentified calls, and are on the official "do not call list" since the program's inception (which in our experience does not seen to be particularly effective).

I don't answer calls from numbers that are not in my contact list. If it is important the caller can leave voice mail. I also dont' answer blocked calls and the option is the same, leave me a message and I will return your call if it is important to ME!

Apparently, in addition to all the stuff others have mentioned, some legitimate calls can come from this number. During hurricane Irene my power lines and Directv satellite dish were knocked down. I have a service contract on the dish and they replaced it for free. They were calling see how everything was going with the dish-had a series of survey-like questions.

First, yesterday I had two 10-minute long voice mail messages (basically as long as the voice mail would let the person talk and then cut them off) from a man with what sounded like an Eastern European accent going on and on about music and wealth and do I know his good buddies Keith Richards or even John Tesch, and can I send my private jet to pick him up in Los Angeles because he called LAX a "homeless shelter" and wanted to know that the classical music scene and the "sprawling villa" scene in Connecticut mix because he might move here or maybe New York or Massachusetts, and if I don't have an international phone plan he will call me back. Seriously, the message just kept going on and on. The first message was attached to a phone that said Ruth Belonsky at the number 310-679-8209 (Ms. Belonsky, if you don't want your name and number listed like this on a website, then watch who you lend your phone to). The second came with this number and the name Guilford Center. I looked up that name and area code, and it is a mental health facility. The guy never left a name or phone number, and I was debating calling the center and asking about it. Tonight, the number showed back up on my caller ID so I answered it, and it was a woman asking me to take part in a radio listening survey. Now I come on here and see that other people have been getting this number but from other places?? I'm going to try to call the Guilford Center and see if this is an extension of theirs, because if it is they have someone misrepresenting them.

Calls every day for the past 10 days, as early as 6:00am. No message. Horribly irritating. I just want it to stop.

They called & when I answered they hung up. I called back , but it won't connect. Amnoying!! I have better things to do then pause to answer a phone call where no one even has the decency to say hello this is such & such. This is what I want.

It's a company called TTC that does telemarking for a ton of different clients. They can be calling on behalf of several different clients. If they call you late, or repeatedly after you ask them to stop, the best thing to do is answer, find out who they are representing, and then call that company and complain. Companies will fire them if they get complaints.

Got this call twice, once while away(no message left), again a week later, where I picked up just as my answering machine switched on. I said, "hello, hello" they hung up.

Rude black woman called at 9:02 p.m. on 11/17/10 saying she was conducting a 6-minute survey for TTC (no idea what that is). When I informed her that she was calling past the legal time for solicitors to call (9 p.m.) and thanked her for waking my 2-year old son who was crying in the backround, she said "not my problem bitch". I hung up. The phone rang again at 9:16 p.m. - same number - I picked up the phone, said this was an illegal call and I was calling the authorities in Greensboro (where the number originates from according to reverse lookup) then hung up. Someone needs to investigate this!

Caller left no message. When I called the number, I got a message stating " Your call did not go through. Please try again later."

They've been calling twice a day for about 2 weeks now. I never answer and they never leave a message. Why do they just give up already??

Trying to extract personal info such as age, name political party reg., and asked for my phone number. Of course I gave them someone elses info...

When I retraced the number 336-217-0877 after being rudely hung up on when asking what the call was about.
I found that the company was called Gen Corp insurance Group which is open M-f 8-5pm but I recieved the call at 6:40pm.

Call was from Lieberman Research 1-800-864-6086 X116 "Grant".
Calling about a survey for Electronic Test & measurement equipment.
Offers $35 to complete the survey.

My cell phone received a call from 336-217-0877. Not recognizing this number, I did't answer the call. Does anyone know who is behind this number? Thanks.

They called to do a survey for healthcare.

reporting this (or any other number) to the FCC or the AG's office is a big waste of time. I have filed complaints with them before recently and they did absolutely nothing. Here's the details--I had a telemarketer calling me every single day for two months while I was already on the Do Not Call list. I've been on the list for 2 years and have confirmed that I'm on the list. Anyway, I tell this telemarketer no less than 6-8 times to stop calling me but they continue. I finally tell them I'm going to report them to the FCC and AG. They laugh at me, say 'good luck with that' and hang up on me. So I report them to AG and FCC for all the continuing phone calls even after I told them to stop many times. I get letters from the AG and FCC within a week of filing the complaint. The FCC tells me they have conducted an investigation but can do nothing about it because they can't figure out who these people are. Again...i go this letter in the mail about a week after filing the complaint. So you figure a few days for my complaint to be assigned to someone and a few days for the letter to travel in the mail. UMM how long of an investigation did they conduct? They can't figure out who the suspect is so they are closing the case..wow. Then I also get the letter from the AG's office and it says they can't do anything because the suspect would have to continue calling me after being told to stop. I said to myself...um duh...thats exactly what happened??? My complaint said that they had called me numerous times after being told to stop. I even had a log of all the dates/times of each call and so on. So these agencies do nothing and are stupid.

Got a call from this number today. Thank goodness we have OOMA telephone service so I just put them on our Block list so if they want to call again they'll have to use another number to call from. :)

I received a call from this number to my Google Voice number. The system asks them to say who is calling so I can decide if I want to answer or not. The lady said her name was Gail Stevens and I think she tried to say where she was calling from but it got cut off. I sent it to voicemail and she hung up. Now I know I can block this number and not worry about receiving a call from this number ever again.

Having problems with irritating callers on your cellphone? Try checking out your phone's Settings.

There may be a Setting for Restricting Calls. If so, you may be able to set your Outcoming to All, so that you can call whoever, and restrict your Incoming to Contacts only, so that you're only receiving calls from people who you want to speak to. Just a thought.

Oh, and by the way, if you do restrict Incoming to Contacts only, you won't know when non-Contacts are calling. They'll think that they're irritating the hell out of you, even though they're really not, and, if you want to, you can always still pick up messages from them when you check your voicemail.

We are in the Spring, TX area...a suburb of Houston. Forgot that in previous post.

Had 2 calls from this number this evening. Caller ID showed only number and unavailable. These calls were at 8:45 PM and again at 9:15 on. That is way too late to be calling if these are solicitors. There was no message left and when I returned the call to see who it was, it said the number was no longer in service?? I know sometimes these numbers will give you that message, but it's clearly in service...otherwise, how would they be calling. I will pick up next time to give them an earful..I don't care who it is.

Called at 5:43 p.m. PDT and asked for my husband by name. When he got to the phone there was no response.

Got my first call from this number today. said they were taking a survey about the economy.
When I looked the number up on the computer, I saw all the other people that were getting calls
from this number and it seems like they are using different reasons for calling.
My caller I.D. showed the caller as being Southnet. I don't understand why something can't be done
about this? The phone company ought to be able to find out who this is. I bet if we all had our phone
service turned off and and refused to pay our telephone bill,someone would do something about it.

Irresponsible use of the telephone by folks should be punishable! - These folks call the home number multiple times daily - spouse has had multiple strokes and the phone is their lifeline.

Have been receiving repeated calls for many weeks, uually after 8:00pm and whenever I go to answer it no-one speaks and they haver never left a message. I am disabled and homebound and it is very difficult for me to keep jumping up and answering annoying calls at night. I'm also elderly and in a great deal of pain and discomfort and in no mood for this sort of thing to begin with. My caller ID identifies these annoying late calls as 'SOUTHNET' and I want it to cease right now!!!!!

4 Sept. 2009. Just recieved a call, didn't ansewer, they left no message.

They told me they were a Telecom company. I asked to be put on their do not call list. They had called several times. This is the third time I had asked to be put on a do not call list for them. The girl was extremely rude and said just answer our questions and we won't have to call you anymore. I would like to know who this is so I can report them, speak to a supervisor, something.

I just called this number and some rude lady answered the phone. I asked why they where calling me and She told me that there is a scam going around involving this company. The scam is that they send you a check for $4,000 and obviously its a fraudlent check that the bank actually will cash. I asked her not to call my number and she laughed...

I just got the call late last night. I don't ever use my cell for things that aren't work or family related so I don't know what they are thinking calling at almost 11pm (NC time). It's a good thing I had the day off otherwise I'd be really mad about them waking me up so late! I can't even imagine if I had a kid and they woke it up that late. They really need to stop. What kind of survey do you need to do at 11pm? Well what kind of phone survey do you really ever need to do!?

I found a website through google that has information on TTC Research in Greensboro, NC with contact information. I called and was told that the automatic dialers are legal and because they do surveys they are exempt from the Do not call list. This is true. I asked to be put on a do not call list. I was told by the woman who answered the phone that they do not provide that service. However, if enough of us call, and write and complain, bet they will. As usual with everyone else, we are on the Do Not Call Registry list and have been for quite a while. These idiots call me most every day, but I don't say anything when I pick up the call. This way it doesn't activate their computer or kick back to a live person. If anyone knows if it's a live person, please tell me so I can drop an F-bomb on them next time. Finally filed a complaint with the DNC Registry. I've been registered with the DNCR for a long time. How come I still get calls? Listen, if you get a live person and you get as frustrated as I do, just drop an F-bomb. It brings instant gratification and really gets the person on the other end angry. TIP: If someone you don't know calls and asks for you, don't acknowledge that it IS you. Ask them for their name and company. When they don't give it to you, tell them they can't talk to the person they are asking for. The other day I got a call and the guy kept asking for me. I kept asking what his name and company was. He just kept asking for me. I said "Well, unless you tell me your full name and company you can't talk to him." The guy says, "that really sucks." I responded, "Yes, it does," and hung up the phone. I LOVE DOING THAT.

At 8:00pm Friday night I got a call from this phone number on my home phone. Being tired after a long day at work, I did not answer it. I got a call from this number the other day. I answered my cell and a man asked for me. I said this is her, there was people talking in the background, and then he hung up. I too called the number back and either got a busy signal or a message saying the call can not be completed as dialed. When I did the reverse lookup online it said it was Time Warner Cable. I called them, they have no record of the number. However, the man I talked to about it, I was kind of mean, but I'm so irritated. I hate telemarketing calls! He said that he knows for sure of one company in Greensboro that work off of a paid per call plan. So basically, whoever works for that company gets paid for every call they make, whether they just call and hang up, or talk to someone. I looked again, found this site, called Southnet and the gentleman I spoke with said that I need to block the number, that he can't help me.

Attorney, you might want to find a new profession. We do have certificates on site if anyone cares to see. Also, the U.S. Attorney General (who is who you should report to) frequents survey companies, and they keep very strict records of our activity. In additi on, many of our clients are the very same government officials who you all are compalining to. If you look in the front of you phone book, the law is clearly stated. Besides that, keep in mind that everything you all read, the candidates you select both local and national, the propositions you vote on, the products you buy, etc. all stem from the research we do. We people think about that stuff, everyone thinks about a bunch of scientist in a lab some where, but the real stats from the real people (you all) com from these phone calls. So everyone, just suck it up and do you're part. Some of the surveys even pay you to take it. All we want is your opinions which you really can't express anywhere else.

After numerous calls I desided to answer this one. I informed the man calling that I was on the Do Not Call List and don't call again or I would report them. He immediately hung up. I haven't received anymore calls!

It appears that this number is part of a service that provides telephone time to business. This is evident because your comments reference several different callers (collections, surveyers, etc..) By the way, Dee, is WRONG! No one is exempt from the National Do not call list unless you sign a contract agreeing to be called. Even then, if you tell them, in writing, do not call, they cannot call you. This includes debt collection agencies. A large portion of you say it should be illegal for survey companies to call you. IT IS ILLEGAL for survey companies and any other company to call you IF you're on the DO NOT CALL list. The purpose of the DO NOT CALL list is to stop annoying, harrassing phone calls not to leave the line open for certain other annoying callers. Get real Dee, you're going to get caught eventually! If these idiots call you, answer the phone, get them to identify themselves and REPORT THEM! The problem is that most calls do not get reported and they continue in their quest. Let's put them in their places and out of business.

This number is a dummy number. It is a company that uses some form of server and does not receive in-bound calls, which is why they don't leave messages. It can be anyone from a company doing surveys, bill collectors, etc. It is not a company trying to sell you anything because that is illegal. Your best bet is to pick up the phone, listen to what they have to say in full and tell them you are not interested if youre not interested. Do not cut them off or hang up on them, because this will automatically warrant a legal call-back. I know this because I work for a survey company, this is factual. To be honest, we really hate calling people over and over, but by law we can keep calling if we don't fully explain the reason for the call, if we don't reach the person we ask for (i.e. I ask for John Smith then Jane Smith can't tell me he's not interested.), if you say I'm busy (this means not right now not Im not interested). You're best bet is to just politely say you are not interested and more than 98 percent of the time you will not receive a call from the same company although the number may be the same. The same dummy number can be used by pretty much any company. We really hate calling you back, but its our job unless you do as the above states. Sorry people, but its 100% legal.

As soon as I answered the phone there was silence. This has happened twice now, and it is starting to make me feel like someone is trying to piss me off. Why else would they not answer me when I say hello!. I hope these people will be prosecuted.

Called on 10/14/08 @ 8:01 PM. Caller ID display "Private Name". Left no message on answering service.

They have called twice so far today. When I answer the phone I can hear a lot of laughing and giggling in the background but no one speaking through the phone. I kept saying hello, but no one responded. After about 30 seconds the call terminated.

called at 10:59pm e.s.t. whoever it was the hung up. clown!

Told her I was on DNC, said it didn't partain to them. Asked to talk to supervisor; she hung up on me.

No message.

This southnet caller will not give up...3 or 4 times a day. They need to be reported to whoever levies the fines for solicitation calls like this.

Dialed the number back and got the "This number has been disconnected/no longer in service" message. Clearly these people are using spoofing software to fool caller ID.

We are getting multiple calls from this number on a daily basis. They do not leave a message. Caller ID says Southnet. Extremely annoying.

called me about my banks, my age, etc. really creepy. Then hung up on me

These assholes call twice a day. They won't give me any info about the company when asked. They just hang up. I've asked them to stop calling but they still call. No amount of cursing and ranting stop these jerks. I've filed a complaint with the FCC and I hope that you all do the same . It is easy to do online. Go to the FCC website (google it) and click "inquiries and complaints". If enough folks complain about these scamers something might get done. Other wise they will just keep calling/harassing even if you are on the do not call list. Please take the time to file a complaint.

They are calling me everyday many times. they leave no message and when I call back it says it is disconnected. then of course, I get more calls the next day from this number. it is annoying and I can't wait to pick up when they call while I'm home and tell them off.

They have been calling all week, at least 2 times per day for the past week. I don't know who they are but the caller id says "southnet"

called tonite 2x first time I spoke to a man after a lengthy silence who said he had a short survey - told him I didnt have time & hung up - recd a callback about 1/2hr later no message

Rec'd two calls on Friday 7/20/07 at 9 pm and two calls Monday 7/23/07 at 8 pm. No message.

Recieved call from 336-217-0877 at 3:58 on 07/07/07. I answered then they hung up. "Phone disconnected" message when I called them.

Just started getting calls from this number. One at 9:30 PM and one at 2:00 pm. I do not answer, put plan on next time they call so I can tell them off.

Claimed to be from TTC research. Said "SOUTHNET" in the caller id. Has called before.

They called 04/18 at 6:44 PM. I reported it to the donotcall list.

Caller ID = SOUTHNET and the 336-217-0877. I don't answer it. My ans.mach picks up and it records,, press 1 to accept and 2 to reject. Have no idea who or why they are calling. I am in CT. They called at 5:59 PM.

I've received six calls today alone (the last from 0882). I'm on the Nat. Do Not Call list and have filed a complaint.

They called 2/25/07 & I couldn't get to phone it time. Did not leave message. I looked on caller ID and called back and it said number was disconnected. How can I get a call from a disconnected #??

We have been getting a few calls a day from this number for the past week or so at different times of day (annoying). We do not answer since we do not recognize the caller, and they never leave a message.

Called tonight around 5pm. Claimed to be Jason from Southnet. I asked him to remove our name and number and NOT to EVER call us again. Then I hung up.

Called and asked to speak to my father. When i told them he wasn't available, they asked for the owner of the vehicle. When I asked which vehicle, they said they would have to call back. Odd!

Survey about health issues

They called me at 8:10pm on 11-8-2006. The guy said he was calling on behalf of some research company. When I interrupted him and asked to not be called anymore, he hung up on me. This same caller id of Southnet has been showing up on my phone daily for about 3 weeks. I was never able to answer the phone until now. They never left a message the other times they called.

This number, along with others like it, is calling repeatedly. The message, when you call back, states that the number is disconnected and then ends with a code: "PWT5" We usually get these calls in the morning.

I also posted a message under the 336 217 0876 number.this is a Timewarner communications number the twt5 u get when u call it back thats what it stands for if u go to twtelecom.com

They have called twice a day for over two weeks now. 8a-10a & 6p-8p. Never answered it yet, but calling back does not work.

These people will NOT take DO NOT CALL for an answer. I have even threatened them with a lawyer and they still keep calling. This has been going on almost daily for 2 weeks!

They called at 9:18 am CST. Caller ID just says Southnet. When i try to call back. I get a recording say the outline is out of service.

They've called cell 2 times a day about twice a wk - never left messages. Tonight I picked it up and they asked for me by name. As soon as I said "this is him" they hung up. These annoyances should be illegal.

This person has called 4 times now. The first time I answered and she wanted to speak with my husband. She was rude and nasty when I asked her what she wanted.
She called 10/13-10/12- and 10/15 when we were not home. She leaves no messages. When we try to call her back, the phone rings for a person named Ocar Sharp at a local number of 702 336-2170. Weird...I reported her to the No Call Registry. Someone should put a stop to this weird goof ball

They called today and I picked up out of curiosity. The woman gave her first name and said she needed a few minutes of my time for a survey. I said I was not interested and please put me on your DO NOT CALL list. I am on the national Do Not Call registry and am reporting this call there as well.

A call came from 336-217-0877 on 9/11 at 8:55 p.m. EST and when I answered the phone there was a brief moment of silence, and then I was hung- up on.

I just remembered that the caller initially said he was with BYT, Incorporated...this was the call I received at 11:08 am on 09/09/06

Call from 336-217-0877 @ 11:08am on 09/09/06. A person identifying themselves as Jason asked, "Is this number a business". When I told him that it was, he said that he was sorry and said goodby (and hung up). Weird.

Telemarketer claiming to be collecting for the Special Olympics. They've been calling for days, and appear from this number and xx76.

The call from 336-217-0877 was recived from Southnet on 08/28/2006 at 7:27 p.m. When I returned the call the operator responded that the this number had been disconnected or is no longer in service. How can I receive a call from a number that is no longer in service or disconnected?

Called from this same number on 08/25/2006 @ 9:23 AM Eastern Time - Daylight Savings time. ID said: SOUTHNET.There was no one there ..no response to my greeting.
