How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

I will file a complaint. Everybody do the same!!!
We do not answer calls not identified, or that we do not recognize. Could be a complete scam as some have suggested here. It's nice of them to use -000-; one knows that's false.
Same crud....
This came as an automated call identifying itself as 'cardholder services', this company violates state and federal no call lists with regularity.
received several calls from this number, the last on 4-2-09. the call before that i pushed the button to speak to a rep. & asked "why are you calling me, i'm on a "no call list"? the man calling simply laid the phone down on the desk/table (i could hear other operators speaking to other people) he didn't hang up, i finally did with no response
This was the most amazing junk call I ever got. Rude. Clueless. Wouldn't tell me anything about who they were. Avoid these jokers any way you can!
When I asked who they were, they hung up.
I also got a call from this number 15 minutes ago, 3:55pm, 4/6/09, showing as an Illinois call and that they could lower my rates. Asked them to send me some forms and immediately got a dial tone.
I get a call from this number at least twice weekly but I just hang up. In this economy if it keeps someone putting food on their table they can call me. I don't have to discuss my business with them, I either hang up (only on automated calls) or tell them I dont have any credit cards so I just dont see the need.
I have rcv'd 1 call from 331-000-3217 as well as from 407-000-4712, w// "credit card message". Appreciate the service in which these suspect calls can be checked up on. Thanks!!
I have been doing some research on the press 9 thing you guys are saying and that usually lets the scammer connect to an outside line. This could rack up a substantial amount of money via YOUR long distance. DO NOT PRESS 9!!!!

I don't answer these calls. They need to stop calling. Please find out who this is. They never leave a message. I think I will try calling 312-787-5510. There aught to be a law....don not call list does not WORK.
I did some searching around about this phone number, there is a company right in Chicago, Illinois. What I'm gonna do is call them and start askin about there annoying phone calls. If they don't stop calling me I'm gonna make a complaint to the better business bureau. If any of you like to call them as well, there telephone number is
1(312)787-5510, or maybe you can call them and annoy them for awhile. Well wish me luck. I will also comment back after I call them.
Didn't leave message.
Called today while I was out. 4:36 EST (3.26.09) Left no message. Now that I have found this site, I will not be answering any calls from them.
by that I mean, the three 0's at the beginning...no way there exists an actual phone number like that.
also,a call ending in 0000 is usually fake as well,as well as all 0's for the area code.
don't even bother to answer anything with 0's in the number...it's fake, and doesn't deserve the time of day.
didn't answer........
These asses called last night and I got some b--tch on the line and told her to get a more honorable job, such as prostitution, she said "yo momma already does that" and we proceeded to cuss each other. She was quite the sailor. Let me assure you, this is a scam job and under no circumstances should you deal with them in any way. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY CREDIT INFORMATION!!!! The sad thing is, there's nothing the government will do about them, since all they do is spoof their numbers and move on to others.
Collection agency using lower interest rates as hook.
Pressed 9 to ask why these people were calling me since I have registered with the do not call registry. A man who could barely speak asked if I wanted to lower my rates. I told him I would like my number removed from their list. He hung up on me. Burns my @$$ when that happens!
Wanted my Visa or Mastercards that exceeded $3000 and over 11% interest rate stating she could reduce them. I was hestitant in giving her my card numbers. She reiterated several times that they needed the 800 number for my credit card as well as my card number (not my security code, though)to get my credit report. And, if I was in good standing they could reduce my interest rate. I told them I called directly to have my interest rate reduced and they wouldn't do it even though I am in good standing with them. How could they do something I couldn't? When I asked for a little time (I had a presentation to do in a half hour), and that I'd like to look their company up on the internet, she hung up. If you call the number back, the number is not a working number. Now that I have looked over the other comments, I had the same beginning, push the 9 to reduce your debt.
Have received several calls, caller never leaves a message.
March 18,2009, Out of Area, no message left and a fake number. Having read these messages will turn them in to Do Not Call List as Continental Financial Services.
Jackasses
Received a call at 2:51 p.m. on 3/14/09. Automated recording asked if I was interested in reducting an intrest rate on a credit card. I pushed 9, got an operator, and asked what account this was in regards to. The operator hung up on me.
fake number on ID..when placed return call got the "Call could not be completed as dialed" tape.
After playing dumb and asking what credit card company they were with, they finally divulged that they were calling from Continental Financial Services. I am adding this bit of info to my donotcall.gov complaint.
Automated caller said there was no problem with my credit card but I had to respond immediately for a chance to reduce my rate. Definitely sounds like phishing.
CID showed call came at 1:16PM on 3-12-09. Special calling equipment can bypass the normal Caller ID and leave a fake number. The technology to catch these calls may catch up with them in time, but for now all one can do is Google such numbers. If you are dumb, you will let them affect you emotionally. These calls are like all the ads we see constantly. Mostly we tune them out. If we let them affect us emotionally we would destroy ourselves. If you have a sense of humor and you get to talk with one of these callers, ask them if they live under a rock or in a hole! But go easy, you might hurt someone's feelings!
Call came from Illinois to Kansas at 10:28 hours CDT on 3-12-09. Call not answered and no message left. Other sites advise that this is the classic -we can lower your credit card rate- scams.
No message on the answering machine, either.
I would like this company to stop calling me. They are asking to help reduce my debt. I do not have debt. it is very disrupting
Something about reducing credit card interest rate. Press something to be connected to a "live operator". Probably phishing for credit card number and personal info.
