How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

They call til 10 at night. One day alone they called 31 times.

he's the CEO of that crappy GE Money Bank -from now on, for every call they make to me, he is getting one of his own. let's do what they do - just keep hanging up every time his home machine picks up. we should let him know how invasive and violating of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act this is. and it's legal for us to return calls - he needs to be responsible for his rude employees and illegal tactics.

So, I answered the phone tonight to try to find out exactly what was going on. I spoke to Richard Morgan, a manager in the collections department that works for (yup, you guessed it) GE Money Servicing, which is a subsidiary of GE Money Bank. The reason, he explained, why the (330) 649-7186 number always shows up was because they are calling by satellite phone from (yup, you guessed it) India and the calls are always routed through that number. That explanation is questionable, in my honest opinion, but that’s what he said. He also said that GE Money Servicing has only used this (330) 649-7186 number for the part 3 months…something else I view as unlikely since my FCC complaint was before then and the complaints on this web site date back to August of 2006. I told him calling us multiple times each day was bordering on harassment. He said he put a notation on our account to never, never call us again. Only time will tell if that is true or not.
I previously filed a complaint with the FCC about this number calling us 3...4...5 times a day was not uncommon. We finally decided to get call block service. Wouldn't you know it...I had to delete this number from our call block list (because you can only have up to 6 blocked numbers) and the calls from (330) 649-7186 started up again. I suspected it was GE Money Bank calling about our JC Penney account, but when I called the 1-800-527-0881 number on the back of the card, they told me they could not confirm that the rep calling from (330) 649-7186 was actually an employee of GE Money Bank. Like many on this site have stated…when you call the number back, it says it is out of service.
i answer the phone and get no response..so now i let the machine get it and they hang up..i've even called it and it wont go through

Received a phone call from this number at 8:15pm on 07/03/07. Called number back at this number was not in service.
They call EVERY morning at 8:22am 7 days a week. I've not been late or over due any payments. I also get calls all day from out of area and when I answer it's like I'm on hold, then the line goes dead. ODD...I've also called the number back and it says that it's not in service. Looks like if it was a collection agency that they would pay their phone bill to keep it in service.

when I called it back it said the number had been disconnected.They called at 9:58am on 06/01 and I called the number at 10:14 0n 06/01 and got that message

They called at 830AM on a Sunday morning. My opinion is that it it's an important call., then they can just leave a voice mail. They never do, so it's not important.

It's GEMB (GE Money Bank) credit card collections and investigations. They handle collections and sometimes call-backs if you have filed for hardship help on a GEMB credit card obtained through PayPal (their largest client) and a few other places who use GEMB as the credit carrier for their cards.

I got a call from this number too and I think it might for my Paypal Buyer Credit which I know is overdue... and its through GE Bank. However I could be wrong, but this is just my speculation as I know my Paypal Buyer Credit payment is late.
Anyone know who this is specifically? We don't answer any numbers we don't recognize but it is annoying.

I received a call at 8:15am from this number located in Ohio. When I called it back it said the number was out of service.
They call, and call, and call. Caller ID pegs it as an "Ohio Call". The prerecorded message claims that they are calling from GE. GE has no such number. What kind of scam is this?
They called at 8:56 est. I don't think these calls are allowed past 9PM. Makes me wonder who this is though.
This number called me about 3:30pm while I was at work, I didnt answer it, but when I tried calling back....I heard the prerecorded message that the number is not inservice or not receiving incoming calls! WIERD!!!
