These people call and play a prerecorded message, "This Bill is OverDue and Payable now. Press 1 to charge this Invoice to your Credit Card...." !!! There is no option to speak with anyone. Just the prerecorded tape repeating itself over and over. True thieves. If you are on the Government "Do Not Call List" you may file a complaint quickly and easily at 877 382 4357

I switched over to att and immediately started receiving these calls from at least 5 different numbers so far, and they always call from a different number...

I didn't get it from this number, my caller id showed UNKNOWN, but this sounds like the same people. They are calling lots of at&t cell customers, and the at&t CSR I talked to say they are trying to track them down. Forged caller id/blocked caller id, pre-record, cell-phones, pretty much every violation of the TCPA you can muster in a single call.

I think whocalled.us needs and "UNKNOWN" number to report these things, too... :-)

I HAVE FOUND OUT WHO THIS IS!

I HAVE FOUND OUT WHO THIS IS!

The name of the company 'Dealer Services,' based out of Trenton NJ.
There are two good ways to handle this, and I recommend both.
1. This is the link to their Better Business Bureau report, where they actually have a satisfactory record! Click on this link and file a complaint.

newjersey.bbb.org

2. Call the local Trenton Police and the State Attorney General and let them know these people are scamming hard.

These people have been calling me at an unlisted private number(which I don't put on applications anywhere) for two weeks on end, multiple times a day. When I ask where they got my phone number, or who they are, they hang up. They also call from faked caller ID numbers, which I am under the impression is a felony. I had to fake an application to find out who the hell they were. They also said they got my information from Consumer Reports, who say they don't sell personal information to anyone. They also mentioned consumer lists, but would not tell me anymore and again hung up.
They also tried to sell me some scam direct TV setup.
Different phone numbers they call from: 234567891, 7048241393, 5712610103, 8007254899

These people have been calling me from a diff. number for the warranty scam and now are calling about free direct TV set up or some other bullshit. Called Qwest, the service provider, and they said this number is theirs and is officially disconnected, so they don't know where it's coming from either.

Here's a rare situation where I know exactly how this telemarketer got my cell phone number. A friend of mine accidentally gave my number to the dog grooming section of Petsmart, in Hollywood, Florida. My friend is a niaive unsuspecting Canadian. The telemarket calls from 319-758-7205 began 2 hours and 45 minutes later.

I've been getting a lot of the auto-warranty calls - but this time the call came from (319) 758-7205 - said I had been selected to receive a free home entertainment system with a free dvr - (something new in the scam stakes?) pressed three to be removed - should've known it would just cut me off - which it did....

I've gotten this auto warranty spam call twice in the last 3 days.... never can connect to a real person

2008-07-14 16:12:15 UTCTrish

They constantly call my cell phone and this has been going on for months. They call from this number and another that shows up as UNKNOWN. It's a pre-recorded call saying "2nd notice that your vehicle warranty has just expired..." .

2008-07-14 14:30:18 UTCKV

Has called NUMEROUS times. From different numbers. Wanting to sell car warranty, always leaves a message that I have only a few more days to take advantage of thier offer. Only calls my cell phone. IGNORE IT!!!!

This company has been our home phone, I have asked to be removed over three weeks ago, but was called twice afterwards two weeks later. Now they are starting to call my wife's cell phone. When I asked what their company name is she said, "Warranty Services," when I asked what their phone number was for their main office she asked that I hold on the line - I asked quickly again for their phone number, one that I could call and get through on, then they disconnected (hung up on me).

2008-07-12 05:28:41 UTCTim

Pre-recorded call to my cell phone saying "2nd notice that your vehicle warranty has just expired..." (it expired 10 years ago). When I pressed 0 hoping to skip to a live human and yell at them, the recording hung up. Also recently had calls from 802-651-6889 and 802-848-7489 (missed calls; did not leave messages), which show up in this database as most likely the same scam.

2008-07-12 02:50:04 UTCaz

called my att phone but left no message.

2008-07-12 02:22:26 UTCRoss

Automated message about car warranties made to my cell phone. My wife has been receiving these messages as well. They keep calling.

2008-07-12 01:06:36 UTCJames Strohm

This number resolves to Juan Gomez in Iowa via open caller directory information. Do not hate him.

It's not Juan, it's one of those boiler-room car-warranty scammers. This time I got Abdul in the boiler room to admit that he was in California, if that helps.

These butt-lick scammers are spoofing Caller ID --a Federal offense -- as well as calling celphones -- another Federal offense -- and getting off the line before anybody can say those magic words "put me on your do not call list" that open the door to a world of civil penalties at $1500 per violation, payable to the callee (that would be YOU ... and ME .. and ALL OF US!!)

If you think these criminal fly-by-night operations suck as much as I do, please drop me an email at strohmforcongress@gmail.com

Yes, even US Congressional campaigns and candidates are vexed and annoyed by these people on a near-daily basis.

Auto warrenty spam from 319-758-7205. I did not press "1" . I called them back to speak with representative, but there is nobody.

2008-07-11 23:14:16 UTCMK

Toyota alerted me about this Warranty Scam a few months ago.
DO NOT give these people ANY information!!!
They are trying to steal your identity.

I am getting numerous auto dial calls re: auto warranty. Yesterday it was from 802-878-3477, same message. These are all coming into my cell phone and are very annoying not to mention using my air time.

2008-07-11 22:43:39 UTCDJC

I'm these calls as well - under a few numbers - car warranty scam.

2008-07-11 21:18:45 UTCDisgusted

"Auto warranty" scam like at least 3 other numbers. Jail them.

2008-07-11 20:59:48 UTCMD

Another call about auto warranty, I have been getting this call for a few weeks now from all different numbers. I pressed 1 this time to speak with someone but it just rang continuously.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
