I have been getting bombarded with calls, even though I am on the no-call list.

Hi - The WSJ is soliciting me for a subscription, yet I have a subscription to both WSJ.com/iPad version and Barrons.com/iPad version. My guess is the right hand isn't talking to the left.

Recorded message with some kind of scam about how our debit card had been stolen. We don't even have a debit card.

Called 1.888.788.0333 and asked that my phone # be removed from their call database. Person who answered the phone was very polite and said that it would take up to 30 days to remove my phone number from their call list. However, I think it is very unprofessional of The Wall Street Journal to solicit the renewal of a subscription through telemarketers. Also, when I called the WSJ I could not understand the customer service representative and although she said that TLC & Associates is one of the companies they use to solicit subscriptions I did not believe her. Previously, when I mentioned to her that I had received an offer of .51 cents p/day for a print and electronic subscription she said that there are many unauthorized companies making these offers to solicit credit card numbers - FRAUDULENT CALLS. My advice: Either renew your subscription on line or call their Customer Service Center or better still buy the paper in the newsstand when you think the headlines look interesting - this is what I'll do.

On 3-15-2011 called the 888-788-0333 number to reach TLC Associates. Very courteous, took my phone number and said they would take us off their calling list. Said it would take up to 30 days, but to ignore any calls from them going forward. Let's hope it works.

TLC has been calling our offices for the past two weeks. I have advised them our renewals for WSJ are not due for another month and that we are not interested in changing our services. Also, told them we would make any changes to accounts online. I urged them to discontinue calling. I even asked to speak with a supervisor, but so far I have not received a call back. If you ask the agent their name, they just say they will call back and not give you their name. If this continues I will be fowarding a letter to the President of the company.

Get an "ID Interceptor" (buy online)to block this number and all other annoyance calls.
You can block individual numbers or entire area codes (800, 866, 877, etc.). There are
just a couple that still know how to get through, but our trash calls have diminished
by 95%.

They seemed to bee baiting for information by stating that our subscription to the Wall Street Journal needed to be renewed, who should they talk to? They should have that name already if there is an existing subscription for the individual. The rep stated they will call back (a specific time was given).

A waste of my time. How do we get them to stop calling?

They were fishing for my son. I'm guessing they're wanting him to renew a magazine subscription gotten with frequent flyer miles which was in his name but I have let expire. He's an unemployed college student who doesn't live here and the number they called, while listed, is a free number that came with the cable bundle but which the family has never used. In fact I don't know the number without looking it up..

Auto dialing: I will never do business again with any company that uses this feature......if you want to talk to me then explain who you are and dial my number yourself......I also have stopped doing business with any company that has a call center using people I cannot understand. There may be many company's doing business world wide, but when doing business here......Learn AMERICAN!

They ask for me by name and I ask who's calling please and very impolitely again says they want me. Again I ask who it is and they get demanding and this type of call is unwanted. If this really is the Wall Street Journal, they had better learn some people skill. Now I will never buy from them again.

The Do-Not-Call registry does not prevent all unwanted calls. It does not cover the following:

calls from organizations with which you have established a business relationship;

calls for which you have given prior written permission;

calls which are not commercial or do not include unsolicited advertisements;

calls by or on behalf of tax-exempt non-profit organizations.


So if you have previously or currently subscribed to any of the client that hires Tlca to do their calling then you will need to pick up the phone and as them to add you to the DNC list for that program. Such as direct tv verizon, or dow jones. Keep in mind that it could take up to 30 days to go into effect an that goes for the national DNC list as well. The representative on the line will be able to give you more information abot the DNC list and will even tell you how to get on the national DNC list. Many time these representative do not make commission and with the economy have to take a job like this to make a living and provide for their families. There is no way that the person on the phone can control who is being called and how many times. they hate calling you maore than once as well because no one likes getting screamed at. So just pick up the phone and have them add you to the DNC list. Its that simple!

Tlc uses auto dialers so there is a delay that happens causing silence. in the beginning of a call when you answer the dialer sends the call to the employee and by then you have said hello three times. Tell them the person they are trying to reach is dead. And dnc. Used to work there and its full of questionable employees. Was offered drugs on my first day!

I got a call today from TLC Assoc, called back and I think it had to do with ourt Wall Street Journal subscription.

just a weird vm from them don't know who they are.

Recieve calls from TLC & Assoc Inc at least 3 times a day - did not answer.

TLC calls at least twice a day and there is never a person on the other end... not that I want to talk.

Received an obvious solicitation call from 319-730-4172 at 2:34pm on 7/20/2010. Discovered they originate from tlcassociates.com and you can call the corporate office at 319.730.4000 and ask to be removed from their database. Or, you can write to them at 2738 Edgewood Road SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404. This is a telemarketing company and they solicit for various venders.

Answer the phone, tell 'em the line (number ) Is operational, and you request your telephone number be removed from the data base, beyond that, If they crowd the envelope, tell 'em the guy that had the phone, passed on, you'll be surprised how fast all telemarketing calls are stopped. Good luck

Great site. I've been receiving calls from here 3-4 times a day. Called the 888 number provided. Lovely young lady said she'd put me on DNC list. Hope it works.

Now I'm getting one call from them everyday and I answer to silence and never get a voicemail. Just weird, but thanks for the information about this number

Received a call from TLC -thought it was a wrong number. they asked for one of my neighbors by name. Told them it was a wrong number. Than they asked is this such and such an address (my actual address) Are you in apt. 2C? (I'm not)

they apologized and said they would remove my number from their records.

I'm sure I'll hear from them again!

TLC has been calling for weeks starting at 7:20 a.m. I never answer, but will now report them to the Do Not Call List, Wall St. Jrnl., and anyone else I can find. This is outrageous. I definitely will NOT renew WSJ because of this harassment.

So tired of telemarketers. Think I'm going to get rid of land line. Family and close friends know how to get a hold of me.

TLC always calls mid-afternoon (PST). Never leaves a message.

I called the 1-888-788-0333 number and said that I have been receiving several calls from TLC Associates and would like for those calls to stop. The lady speaking asked for my telephone number and I responded "You don't have caller ID?" She then said "Oh, is that ___-___-____?" I said, "yes, it is." and she said she would take care of the
problem immediately. Why did she ask for the number if she had the number? We'll see what happens.

Received call from this phone number and didn't recognize on caller ID. No voice message.

Recieved call from this phone number and caller id showed TLC Assoc Inc. No one on other end, just some clicking noise and after about 10 seconds of me saying "hello?" I hung up. Found this website and glad I did.

Called and knew my sub was expiring and wanted to offer me a great 18 most renewal of almost $500. A woman and young one did the schpeal......kept right on talking till I hung up finally.....

I keep receiving calls from this phone number and business name. No one ever says anything when the phone is answered. I called 888-788 0333 and requested that my unlisted phone number be removed from their database.

Received a call this morning which showed the number above on my caller ID screen, along with "TLC ASSOC INC" Female caller asked me if I wanted to renew my subscription to the Wall Street Journal for 18 months at ~$540. A few seconds later, she spoke about credit cards. I was a bit irritated. She said I could call the WSJ, and I did. The lady for WSJ did not recognize TLC ASSOC INC, but could not say it was definitely a fraudulent call.

We received over 12 calls in one day from this number. Found this website via Google - this was very helpful! Thank you everyone for posting the number to call to remove our number from the WSJ!! I'll be sure to save this website as a favorite!

I finally called the WSJ and they told me they would block calls. We got a zillion calls from this company a day at all times.

I actually had someone respond when they called me for the 20th time. It was the Wall Street Journal. I sent an email complaining. and will follow up with whatever federal authority i can. I repeat WALL STREET JOURNAL.

I answered and when they asked for me by name I (sort of confused) said, "I don't know anyone by that name." Then they asked if this wasn't (my actual address) and I said, "No". And they apologized and hung up. I think this is a better solution than not answering. Not answering causes the repeat calls where my method will probably immediately "mark" their info as "in error" and will probably stop any repeat calls.

Thanks these guys have been calling me for months and I couldn't figure out why. The always called at the worst times too. But I called the 888-788 0333 number and they said they would take me off the list. Sure hope they do.

getting calls from TLC assoc. inc for two weeks. pick up the phone and nobody is there. after about a minute their machine hangs up. Called the wall street journal and complained. customer service said they will take care of problem. called jessica at 1-888-788-0333. she said she would remove my number from their calling machine.

wow, these people called up to 5 times in one day-annoying when you have little ones trying to nap. i'm glad i found this sight, i called the 1-888-788-0333 number below and Jessica answered and took my number off their list. Hopefully this does the trick-it takes up to 24 hours though for it to got through.

We've been on vacation and came home to find 5 calls from "TLC Assoc Inc" all in one day, leaving no message. So far there have been 2 calls today. I googled them and came to this lovely site. Thanks to all who left instructions per what to do!

Please no one cancel their WSJ subscription just because of this little clause in the subscription contract. Isn't it a fabulous read? :)

I have had problems with these calls in the past- and we started getting them again recently at the office (once our Wall Street Journal subscription ran out.) I have been told that when your subscription runs out on a newspaper/periodical, they have authorization to call for approximately 4-6 months from the end of the subscription to try to get you to renew. Apparently this is part of the subscription agreement. The periodical company jobs out this task to companies such as TLC. These calls do not qualify for the Do Not Call registry as it is part of the agreement- unfortunately.

When I was getting these on my home phone I just wrote a letter to the periodical company (in that case it was the SF Chronicle) and requested it to stop- and it did.

Been receiving calls at home for the past 3 days -did not answer. Finally, got their toll-free number 888-788 0333 from their website TLCASSOCIATES.COM . I was promised they will remove my number within the next 12 to 24 hours.

They are calling my office phone every 15-20 minutes today; I haven't picked up.

OK first I loathe these calls, second, John get over yourself about the 'defense' of these companies just doing their jobs. They are violating the National Do Not Call List. I suppose that's ok since they're 'doing their job'. BJ Thanks for the info :)

This number called twice already this morning... no one there and NO MESSAGE left the second time..i didn't answer...PLEASE STOP THIS ANNOYING CALL

It's certainly no defense since I hate these phone calls too. But these companies just have robodialers that keep calling the list until someone answers. So if you dont' answer once, they'll call 5 or 6 or 7 times a day until they're done. It's not like they're calling you 7 times a day just to irritate you. If a company like this calls and their name is displayed the smartest thing you can do is answer it and just politely tell them to quit calling you. 99% of the time they will do it. The ones that "spoof" or block their names won't.

Called today and the lady acted really concerned and that she needed to talk with my boss ASAP. Said she will call back later this afternoon. She is going to get a piece of my mind!

I get at least one call a day, sometimes two. I do not answer it. They hang up when they get my message.

I reported them to the DO NOT CALL registry a while ago but I am still getting calls. Very Annoying and disruptive. I have called them and told them not to call but I still am getting calls

These people have called at least 20 times in the last 48 hours. In fact as I type, they are calling again. This is the info I found on whitepages.com. I think we should feel free to call them at home, don't you agree?

Same experience here. 8:30 am sharp. I work late so am still asleep. No one there, no message. Again this morning.

I got a call from this number and they asked for someone. I told them they weren't in and I could take a message. They said there was no message and they would try back. I told them that if they couldn't leave a message, there was no reason for them to call back. They said "ok, if you have any questions you can reach us at 1-800-Journal."

Same thing, multiple calls, no message, no one on the line when I pick it up (that long telemarketer pause between the auto-dialer and the sales droid slacking to pick up the phone). I've reported them to the do-not-call registry complaints. The only difference is that the number was 319-730-4170, but it's the same people (TLC).

Called left no message

You can use filter rules to hang up or play a remove number message. You can also have time-of-day forwarding rules.

This is really an annoyance and it is getting more common. The only way to fight it is with the "anti-virus" of telephony - filtering the calls.

Finally got tired of it and found out it's Thomas L. Cardella & Associates, a for-hire telemarketing bunch. Their website: tlcassociates.com

I called the toll-free number and told the guy who answered I was sick of them calling. He took my number and said he'd have it removed; we'll see. If they keep it up, I'll keep calling them.

He said the calls are political action calls for something called "Measure 4" (an anti-pollution law that they're either promoting or trying to prevent) and started doing his spiel. I cut him off, told him to remove my number, and that was that.
