Who Called Us

this is a debt collection agency for Verizon. I sent them a 'cease communication letter' which made them go away for a whole week! Then calls every day starting at 8:00am no message is left ever! They ae relentless. They will never get a penny fro me!

I just recieved a call from the CBE Group Inc. Like Mike they wanted me to verify my name, address and the last 4 digits of my SS. When I asked who he was and what he wanted he simply said it was personal. I refused to answer the questions and he said I will call back at a better time and before I could say there won't be a better time, he hung up.
It sure seems as if his only goal was to find out information on me. If they are a collection agency I can't see how you can collect if you wont' at least talk to the person. The #515-222-2918 was the one they called from.

Got call today. Asked for me by name, when I said yes, she immediately asked do I reside at ..... and gave my address. I asked "who am I speaking with?" She replied that "I can't release any further information until I've verified some information." I told her "I can't give you information until I know who the hell I'm speaking to." and hung up.

Idiots hung up on machine, yeah,like I'm going to be dumb enough to pick up the phone for losers like this.

Have not had my cell phone for very long and a certain "Angela" called yesterday and asked if I was someone, whose name is
unfamiliar to me. As I was telling her she had wrong number she hung up !If this number appears again I certainly will not answer.

They have been calling my # for the past 3 weeks or so. They call 2-3 times a day. They leave no message. I called the # back and kept getting busy signals. I finally got threw and some woman said "Hello, can I help you?" and I asked why they continually call and hang up without leaving a message? Guess what, she hung up on me!!! I'm on the National DNC list also. I don't know why they even have the DNC list if you constantly get bombarded with phone calls from scammers and telemarketers.

Received a call from them today...I've only had this phone number for 2 weeks and this makes the 4th time they have called. Each time they have called I've explained that I just moved to the area I am in and that I've had the phone number for only 2 weeks so to please remove the number from their database.

Multiple calls every day.

Received calls, from this number, on my cell phone that I've had for 2 years. I only use the phone to make outgoing calls, nobody has my number. I don't even know the number unless I look it up. Obviously they have the wrong number.

umm that is a debt collection company pay your bills and they wont call you.... losers

they don't leave messages, call several times a day. even before 8 am and after 9 pm. What is wrong here?
If they want to talk to you so bad, they could atleast leave a message with thier info to be called back.
They are rude when you finally call them back to see what they want and who they are looking for.

Rude collection agency for Verizon Communicatons, do not identify themselves, on message or if you call back, they get your number from caller id and know who you are when you call back, must work with their computer system.

BEWARE IT

I have recieved several calls from this number in the past few weeks, sometimes several times a day. It said CBE Group inc on my caller id, and until today they haven't left a message. But today's message told me to call back Angela. I am on the Natonal Do Not Call list. I've never picked up the phone to talk to them.

I got on CBE Group's website and found their 800 number (800)925-6686. Talked to someone who was very nice, this is a collection company. I gave her my number and she said they must have called a wrong number and that she would take my number out of their system. Now lets hope she does!

Says CBE Group Inc on caller ID.... If they keep calling and not leaving a message they will be added to my blocked list---problem is some of these scammers have multiple #'s and my phone service allows only a limited # to be on the blocked list. Such a-holes this CBE group! Thank goodness for caller ID- I rarely pick up the phone when it rings. My phone service also claims it will block calls from coming in and ringing when the caller has their # # blocked---that helps a little I guess with some of the lesser sophisticated scammers and pranksters

They called in somewhat of a demanding way for me to verify the last four numbers of my social security number. Of course the gentalman could not give me the numbers he had and I definately did not tell him mine. I informed the man on the phone I would be checking him out and I DO NOT expect to hear from him again. Hopefully they got the message. If not I will take action against this company.

Anyone out there from Mass. who may know the laws about these phone calls? I get them from several different companies and it is just starting to piss me off!!! We moved at the end of September and got a new number, but these calls started rolling in in December and have not stopped!

I am from Indiana. They have managed to go my cell phone and my home phone and will call both and leave mulitple voice mails. I am on the do not call list and am gettin rather ticked off at them wasting my time and mins. perhaps I will pursue this to see what I can do.. its getting rediculous

Hi, I live in Southern California and own a pay-as-you-go phone from Virgin Mobile. They called me 5 times within a span of two weeks, between the times of 7:30 PM and 8:00PM Pacific time. They don't leave voicemail messages.

This number calls my wife's cell phone non-stop.......

They called me too and I'm only 13.

They call a min. of 3-5 times a day, I asked my lawyer and they are violating a New York Penal Code (since I live in NY):

Penal Code § 240.30. Aggravated harassment in the second degree. 1965. Amended 2001.
A person is guilty of aggravated harassment in the second degree when, with intent to harass, annoy, threaten or alarm another person, he or she:
1. Either
(a)communicates with a person, anonymously or otherwise, by telephone, or by telegraph, mail or any other form of written communication, in a manner likely to cause annoyance or alarm; or
(b) causes a communication to be initiated by mechanical or electronic means or otherwise with a person, anonymously or otherwise, by telephone, or by telegraph, mail or any other form of written communication, in a manner likely to cause annoyance or alarm; or
2. Makes a telephone call, whether or not a conversation ensues, with no purpose of legitimate communication; or
3. Strikes, shoves, kicks, or otherwise subjects another person to physical contact, or attempts or threatens to do the same because of a belief or perception regarding such person's race, color, national origin, ancestry, gender, religion, religious practice, age, disability or sexual orientation, regardless of whether the belief or perception is correct; or
4. Commits the crime of harassment in the first degree and has previously been convicted of the crime of harassment in the first degree as defined by section 240.25 of this article within the preceding ten years.

Aggravated harassment in the second degree is a class A misdemeanor.

You can e-mail the owner / CEO of this company by going to zoominfo.com. Zoominfo.com is a database of businesses / individuals who have voluntarily provided their information to this website. You need to log-in (just register and pick a password) and then you can send an e-mail to the owner which I just did. Here's my message to Mr. Penaluna:

I have no account with your company. I have never done business with your company. I had never heard of your company until your automated calling system began leaving message after message on my home phone. If your company does not stop calling me I will initiate legal action. If you doubt my sincerity, try pulling my name up in the Denver and Fairfax county public records where you will see evidence that I have successfully sued two businesses for telemarketing abuse and harassment. By way of this e-mail -- dated September 8th, 2007 -- I am requesting that you put my number on your do not call list. That number is xxx-xxx-xxxx. Under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991, if you still continue to call me I am entitled to sue you for $500 per call – which I will not hesitate to do.

I answered this call at 8:30 p.m. on a week night and got a recording from "Angela" asking me to press a certain number to speak to a representative or call Angela on her toll-free number. Pretty gutsy, crappy, and devious of a telemarketer to ask their victims to legitimize their invasive / illegal behavior by actually calling Angela back. I'm sick of getting these calls -- and I'm on the Nat'l Do Not Call List!!!

This is a huge network of credit card scamers, I have been traking them for moths, they will claim to be several diferent places: here is a list of names they use; Kay bank, financial services, alied collections and international conections.

they work out of; Panama, costa rica, Florida, arizona, ontario canada, south korea and india.

calls have been coming for the last few weeks 2-3x a day.last one was a female voice recording giving a number and sayiny this is angela please return my call. dont know her didnt call her back.

Didn't answer. Don't recognize the number. I started receiving calls from this number a few days ago and they call 2-3 times daily.

Called at 11 AM to my home business line. A recording told me to hold, which I did to see who was calling. After about 45 seconds, a female voice came on asking for a person I didn't recognize, then she seemed to disconnect the call in mid-sentence. RG, thanks for the info.

I don't answer because I don't reconize the number.
