These people call 3 to 4 times a day. They never leave a message. When you answer the phone they put you on hold.

This number keeps calling and hanging up when I answer the phone. On call back there is either a busy signal or they hang up the moment I get connected and say Hello. It comes up as a Waterloo, Iowa phone number unpublished and unlisted. It is also listed as a Qwest Corporation number. When I tried to go through the Qwest Corporation office for reportining harrassing phone calls, they were really uppity and said they would not try to reach them. That it is my problem. I know NO ONE in Iowa that I have any dealings with either personally or businesswise.

They call three times a day.I don't answer. One time I did and I could hear noises from the other end but no talking.
Very strange. If this is indeed Directv, they overcharged me too. They act like a monopoly.

I called 800-925-6686 and spoke with Steve Brown. He was polite, but could not find a record of my phone number in his system. He gave me the number to their corporate office: 888-432-0130 and told me to tell them that I spoke with someone in the Des Moines office and they could not find me. I called the corporate office, she asked if I was calling from *my phone number* and I said yes. She told me the calls were for *name*. I explained that we've had this phone number for two years, and have gotten many calls for her but I am not her, nor have any information about her. She said she took care of it and the calls will stop. I hope so.

they were very rude,would not give me any info unless I verified my adress first.I didnt she hung up.....

This company calles me at least 5 times a day even on my work hours. They don't leave messages or talk. It is disruption my job. I am new in my job and don't want cell phone phone ringing off the hook every 2 to 3 hours. Please stop calling me. I don't know who you are. I don't know your number and you don't leave message. Who are you?

Woman called, stated she was from cbc group & was looking for someone with an address in an entirely different state than where I live.

I called the 800-925-6686; got Brie, she transferred me to customer service who stated they were looking for a business; told them they had the wrong number; they removed my number from their lists... (hopefully)

I called 800-925-6686 and pressed 1 twice. Advised them they have the wrong number and asked for it to be removed.

CBE .. would say what they wanted or why they were calling

Kept getting these calls and reporting to ftc. Today I looked up the number (319-274-1904) in the yellow pages, found the name CBE Group, 131 Tower Park Dr., Waterloo, IA 50701. Yellow pages online also directed me to their web site where I found contact numbers. I called 800-925-6686; Brie answered, transferred me to complaint dept. where Tom answered. He was very nice and looked up our number. They were indeed calling for someone who hasn't lived here in a long time. He said he was taking me out of their system and I thanked him and informed him that I had reported it to ftc several times and would continue to do so if they continued to call. I'll report back in they keep calling.

This company has called my cell phone at least 3 times per day for several weeks, never speaking. They call, I answer and then the line goes dead. When I called the number back, I received a line error signal. Finally, I decided to dial the number back via a landline and their recording answered. I then googled the company, called their customer service, chose to speak to an operator by pressing "0" and after 4 minutes and 33 seconds, the line goes dead again without ever speaking with someone.

when these people call you all need to go to the federal trade commission website and file a complaint if they are not talking. if enough people call they will get fined by the ftc

CV Group calling from 770-984-6225. They called me repeatedly and never left a message. I finally called the number and they refused to tell me who they were so I hung up.

I am extremely sick of at least twice daily phone calls from this number. I don't speak to computer phone calls and no message is left on my answering machine.Someone give me a way to block this number and a legal remedy to stop this kind of harassment!!

I just got rid of indirectTV because the service sucks.I kept the service for longer that required by the contract. I to, have started getting these calls. I have paid my last bill in full and sent the receivers back in the boxes indirectTV supplied.

They have been calling and saying more things about whom they are looking for and what they want. I have been giving them crap about who I am and telling them to call back at certain times of the day so that I can keep them busy calling me an tying some one of them busy meking calls that way it will keep them off someone else for a short period of time. Just think, if everyone that they called asked them to call back at the same time they might reach the person they want they would go nuts. By the way they have never ID themselves once and they haave been asking for some one that has never lived here or a name that I have never known and a name that has never been used in my family.

Glad to read other messages to find out who these people are. I have had several calls from this number. I have never had DirectTV and certainly do not owe them any money. I have never answered their calls and do not intend to do so. Thanks for all the information.

Yep, I get a call from them frequently... shows up as CB Group. I'm trying to locate their website and see if they have a 1-800 number associated with them. I've created a nice little program to repeatedly dial a number and give jibberish messages that I would like to point their way. :)

Keep getting hang up calls from this number. I do not and have not had Direct TV.

After reading on here that this is a collection agency for Direct TV, I called them. Neither my husband nor I have ever had Direct TV, but we did recently move so I figured this was an error on their part. When I spoke with a nice woman named Jean, she confirmed that the were calling us in error. Seems they were looking for a gentleman with the same last name as us, and my first initial. She promised we wouldn't receive any more phone calls. Hopefully we won't, but at least now if they call, I can answer and tell them to leave me alone. :)

My mother and T too, get constant annoying calls from these ridiculous people. At all times of the night and day!! We let our service go, like almost everyone else, because of the service and crazy billing tactics. Every month it was a different total and I would have to call and "change my plan" to fix it. It got really old quick! I should have never got the crap when they sent out and idiot for an installer! I should have known better then. It was a nightmare from the get-go. And with the way these crazy people are calling me-they won't get anything else from us. I will pay a more important bill twice the money before I pay them!!

When I block my call back to the Iowa number, I get a message saying that 'all circuits are busy now'. I suppose this is when they are doing their daytime blitz calling.
Other times, (in the evening, for instance when all collections persons are snug in their beds)...I get a quickly mentioned voice saying "CBE" (hardly understandable) on the outgoing message, and then a request for an extension number (which of course, I don't have).
If this is a Direct TV thing, then I can understand the desperation. I now have fiber optics, and no need for a satellite dish. Direct TV is in trouble, and it shows.

I have recently terminated my account with Direct TV. Could this be a collections notice for Direct TV? I have been paying off my bill, so why is it being forwarded to this ridiculous company for collections?
I will continue to hang up on these mean women.

All I get is a message stating if this is so & so, and you listen to this call, you are to call a certain number. I just hang up, but have been receiving the call about every other day lately.

maybe we should flood his office with calls. cause I paid my bills on time and they gave me terrible service, terrible install guys, terrible equiptment, I spent at least 20 hours in 3 months on the phone because their billing dept and techs screwed up our service so bad we cancelled it. I am not broke or poor, Direct TV has NO EXCUSE for the way they treated me and my family and I will not ever pay their "illeged" termination fee, especially after being a customer for almost 4 years on a 2 year contract, their "automatic renewal" is illegal and was not authorized in any way signed or verbally. I'd rather file bankruptcy and ruin my credit than pay them a dime.

It is Direct TV's collection service, no doubt for the "early termination" fee they illegally smack you with after you endure more than your share of bullshit with their HORRIBLE service and customer service. even after 3 or 4 years of service they tried to say we were still under contract...interesting. but they were calling my cell to reach my boyfriend...thats a no no.

Saw IOWA on Caller ID. I don't answer if I don't know who/what it is.I have anonymous call rejection but guess this doesn't apply to companies and bill collectors.

Seems that is an agency hired by Direct TV (for one) would only identify themselves as a caller for "private business matters" Now I'm even more glad we got rid of Direct TV

This number calls all the time(atleast 5 times a day)I work at night and sleep in the day, Most of the time they do not say anything. These people call everyday and say they simply want to verify my address. BS. They seem to be a collections company for DirecTV. I have told them I don't give out personal information and not to call any more. I recorded today's call and told them not to call. We'll see.

Getting repeated calls daily. They never leave a message. Now they've taken to calling at every hour of the day or night. I screen my calls, and until they leave a message, I'll never answer. Besides, I have a by the minute cell phone, it would cost me to answer. Getting real tired of the harassment though.

Their toll free number is (800)925-6686 and an alternative direct phone number is (319) 833-1237. They have an office in West Des Moines, Iowa as well. According to CBE Group's web site, "The CBE Group Inc., (CBE) is a privately owned accounts receivable management company." Another contact avenue is at cbegroup.com. To stop getting phone calls from this bill collector, simply tell them that you do not desire to receive phone calls and request that further communications be handled in a written format. Legally, they must comply with your request. If you sense that they may not co-operate with your written format request, simply tell them that you are reporting them to the Commission's Fair Credit Collections division and ask for their name or the name of their immediate supervisor. Most likely, they will immediately hang up the phone because they know that you know something about Federal fair collections procedures. Take it from me, it works!

No message left on my voice mail to indicate the nature of the call. Other entries below indicate a connection to DirecTV and I too have "issues" with DirecTV so I am assuming that this is DTV's endeavor to prompt me into action - of some sort.

I get this nuber too. They never say what they want, just that they have "personal business" to discuss with me. I, of course, never fess up to being me. Its fun to mess with them anyway. I think it is illegal to call with a prerecorded message.twice a day for two months and im on the national no acll list for over a year now..they wont stop calling and ive told them they no longer have my permisson to call. thay are breaking the law and no one can stop them.I think we should call them back and blow a whisle at them that would let them know just how annoyed we are at them..

Just looked up the phone number on phone reverse directory. I can buy the full report and activity for that number for 14.95, which I'm not going to do, however, they ARE NOT a collection company because the number is registered as a residential number. The name is available on the report if it's purchased. It's a phising number. DO NOT give any personal information whatsoever.

I keep getting calls from this number on my cell phone while I am at work. I am not able to answer the call when I am at work. When I am able to answer to find out who it is they never say anything and hung up. I don't know who they are or what they want but they need to stop calling my cell phone it is on the National DNC but they keep calling. they called me at 7:51pm on 08/08/07, 8:52am on 08/09/07, 8:20pm 08/09/07, and 8:28am on 08/10/07 so far haven't gotten any today but it is still early. Wish they would stop calling my damn cell phone it is not free it is costing me my minutes.

I get up to 6 calls a day from this number at all hours, several after 8 pm. This has been going on for 2 months straight. I never had anything to do with DirctTV which I have always felt sucks when compared to cable. Fortunately I have a call log on my expensive phone system and have documented all calls and times (computer driven), I am on telemarkers do not call list. I personally took this agency to court over harassment and our judgement is pending. It is illegal for a company to repeatedly call "on the assumption that you are a former Direct TV customer" and this was their downfall. We will settle out of court, I have kept my court costs low because my wife is a trial attorney (we made this our weekend project). To make a long story short, many of this collecting agency's information is incorrect and they have bought caller information from various distributors, we will win our case based on unfair and unlawful business practices.

The females who call our home would not propertly identify themselves and wanted my husband to verify his social over the phone. They would not give us any informaton regarding the phone call unless I identified myself as the wife and I refused since they would answer any of my questions as to why they were calling MY house. These people call approx 6 times a day. Everytime they call they refuse to tell me how they are or what they want. When I ask them this they always say "you know who I am calling on behalf of and why." then just sit there. I usually end up hanging up on them as they don't say anything more. After reading these reports, I gathered I was on DirecTV's sh*tlist, and called them to find out why. Although I cancelled my account with them several months ago, my service was bundled through Verizon, who was also supposed to be responsible for billing for them. Turns out Verizon never collected for DirecTV, so all service I had received during my contract was unpaid. I paid the balance, received a confirmation number, then called the "Iowa Call" number listed in my caller ID. I provided them with the confirmation number and they said my account would be taken out of collections. Although I don't like their practices, once I dealt with them directly, they seemed fair enough. Hopefully the calls will stop now. I'm glad this service is here, so I could know who they were and be prepared when I called them.

This number calls our home atleast twice a day. We had direct tv for a short period of time and switched to dish network. This Erica leaves a message to call her toll free number. She even calls on Sunday. Now that I know who it is, she is going to get told off. Thanks for the info. I will also contact the FCC. It is time to stop this kind of harrassment. I almost accused my new boyfriend of doing something shady.

This caller called me everyday at 8:00am and 9:00pm every day for weeks non stop. These people should be stop because of harassment law. They should be sued and we all split the money up.

I just looked this company up in the Better Business Bureau (bbb.org) and they have a satisfactory rating. WHAT!?!?!? I'm going to file a complaint. I urge everyone to do so. Even if a person owes money, this company should not leave messages that do not identify themselves and they should not be leaving these messages in such a harassing manner.

I cancelled DirecTv and they did not stop billing me, etc. I called DirecTv several times to straighten it out and never got any help. 3 months overdue and in dispute, the sent my account to a credit agency. Tried calling them, got no help there. Finally, gave up and paid bill. (I may go to small claims, haven't decided if it's worth it yet.) Anyway, for months now I get at least one phone call a day with some strange message from "Erika" on my voice mail. I think I may try and find their address and write them a letter to cease calling me. If they persist, maybe I'll file a police complaint for harassment. Glad I found out what this is.

collection agency for DirecTV. I no longer have DirecTV. I'm paid in full. I was told that II had fulfilled my obligation with them and then I cancelled the next day and went to cable. they now said I owed for early termination on contract. It's their mistake. I did my part and check prior to cancelling and was given tthe wrong info. If I was still obligated, I wouldn't had cancelled.

If you hit redial you get the Tampa Bay Business Journal but, after speaking to them and reviewing this website, I realized it is a collection agency for Direct TV which we have not had for over a year and all debts were paid. They call at 8AM religiously and, as I work at night, wake me up almost everyday. At this point, I might be able to call Direct TV as others did and correct the situation but they have harrassed me for too long. I will probably take this to court. They're just unlucky to mess with someone who's stepfather has been a practicing attorney for over twenty years.

Anyone who is disputing a charge with Directv should notify CBE that it is in dispute. Their address is P.O Box 2635, Waterloo, IA 50704-3074. I also recommend that you write to your State's Attorney. You can also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (bbb.org).

This is CBE for DirecTv... from my experiences, they are more professional that most (I do owe DirecTv some money... but it's in dispute)... I said I would send a C&D order (cease and desist) to stop the calls... folks, look it up, you have a federal right to deal with the original creditor and NOT deal with a third party agency... I haven't sent the letter yet, so they call.. at work and at home... tell them to stop calling and threaten C&D.. but please be sure you follow through... I am sending the letter tommorow.

I have been receiving calls from 319-274-1904. Like today, when the callers ask for me by 1st name & I ask who's calling, they ask for me again. If they don't identify themselves when I ask again (which they don't), I hang up. But it appears I am being harassed by Direct TV. I've noticed over the past week or so 319-274-1904 calls coming in around 9AM & another around 6PM. I have an ongoing dispute w/ Direct TV & apparently they think they are never wrong. It's unbelievable a company like Direct TV operates such an unethical organization.

I received so many phone calls from this company that I went to court b/c of harassment, it was worth every penny. I dont even have DIRECT TV which I think SUXs for service.

I received calls from this company in IOWA daily. They call at all hours from 8 am to 9 pm. I am on the do not call list and have NEVER had any contracts with DIRECT TV. I filed 2 complaints with the phone company and b/c my husband is an attorney we are going to court with DIRECT TV to show them that this is not only violating our priviacy but very poor business practice. WE are going to personally pound them into the ground, DIRECT TV is going to pay dearly for harassing us like this. Stand up and fight for your rights, if this company is harassing you go to court!

I got a call from this number. Wasnt home so they left a recorded message. Im noticing a trend with DirectTV. Well I dont have it, so I dont know what they are calling for. I guess Ill answer next time.

I have been getting this call several times a day for several months. I usually don't answer. My husband answered one day just to see who it was. They asked for me. They would not leave a message; said it was a business matter. I'm getting really tired of them calling.

They called 8:23pm the caller id was "Waterloo 3192741904". It was an automated system that said press one to talk with representative. I did, a male came on, I asked him to stop calling... he demanded my number or they would continue to call.

This number calls at least 3 times per day and they never leave a message. when i call back its just a recording saying that all their representitives are busy...

i get this 3-4 times daily on my work phone. i called and they insisted my number wasn't even in their database. the person was extremely rude.

THIS IS MY CELL PHONE THIS IS A CREDIT COLLECTIONS I GET CALLS FOR A MS TRESHER EVERY OTHER MONTH WHO MUST HAVE GIVEN OUT MY NUMBER I HAVE RECEIVED AT LEAST 25 CALLS FROM DIFFERENT COLLECTIONS PEOPLE

3 or more calls a day. Even on Sunday! Caller refuses to properly identify who they are. I found out the calls are from "The CBE Group, Inc. The problem is with DIRECTV.

Glad someone has ID'd the company responsible. DirecTV bill is Pd.in Full only someone didn't tell the headhunters. I have letters to DirecTV via email, USPS and no resolution ye.

i allready paid my direct tv account and i still continue to get calls daily early in the am and late in the pm. im thinking about taking them to court. manny

This is a collection agency. If they are calling you it is because there is a bill you haven't paid. No matter what you say, it is true. They wouldn't be calling just for fun.

I'm getting phone calls from this number several times a day and it is really pissing me off! What can I do to get these calls to stop?

I get at least 3 or 4 calls from this number every day. I have no idea who it is. They never leave a message. From early morning until late in the evening.

I don't know who these people are or what they want. They ask for my husband if he isn't here they hang up. I try to ask questions but they don't answer. I finally did get someone to talk to me long enough to find out that they are calling on behalf of DirecTV. I don't owe them anything so was confused. I did get an address from them and sent them a letter requesting that they stop calling my number. They have called three times since the letter went out at the end of Sept. Against the rules boys!

DirecTV collections. somehow now I owe more than I should. Won't be answering that one again

Called 3x today. Asked me at 8 am call to verify address and I told them I don't verify ANYTHING with people I don't know or who won't ID themselves. Caller said he "had business with ____". I hung up. Woman called at 7pm and 8 pm and would not ID themselves.

I received a call from this number almost daily - usually around 8am and 8pm. Only the number comes up and sometimes it will leave this weird automated-bot message but because it's automated I don't know who it is.

Keep getting calls early in the morning and late at night from 319-274-1904. It is a computerized voice that comes on when you answer the phone. I don't know what this is all about.

You have inspired me also to go to court over harassing phone marketing agents. I did and was awared 7500 dollars in damages. Now I am on my next telemarker and on the way to the bank.

I get phone messages from this number every day. They begin a 8 am and go until 8 pm. I am also on the do not call list, I am also going to file an official complaint with the FCC. This is company is going to pay for all the stupid phone calls they have made to my phone, I am going to go to court and stop ugly unfounded companies like this IOWA company once and forall.

This automatic calling number phones me 2-3 times per day. I have filed a complaint with the phone company and am going to proceed with pressing charges b/c I am on the telelmarker do not call list. This IOWA company is going to get the full press from me.

i get a call every other day from this number it is for directv collections. i called it back and told tehm politely not to call me again and they obliged. they were very nice when i called them which is funny bc they were always so nasty when they called me :)

I get this call 3 to 4 times per day. I owe Directv some money. But they cut my tv off and I wasn't even 30 days late. Plus they couldn't tell me why they had added $40 on the bill or why the due date changed. They also got rude with us and started putting us down for not paying on time. They refuse to fix my bill or even look at it. They tell us nothing has changed.

I finially got tired of this company calling my cell phone. I filed a complaint under state statutes for business violations and am going to court. The company has agreed to plea bargining. I encourage everyone to stand up and file a complaint w/ this worthless companies, they often plea bargin their way out at you can make a lot of $$.

I receive calls from this number 319-274-1904 daily. They call every morning at 8 am sharp and then will recall about 1 1/2 hr later. The call is from waterloo Iowa, they are what we call a duplicate calling company making calls for other companies who hire them for their services. Essentially like a telemarketer on steroids. You can file a complint with your phone company or the better business bureau over unlawful business practices.

I get the same message TJ mentioned, a message from some woman named Erika asking me to hit 1 or call a number. I'm in 46383. No idea what it's about, I get the call every couple of days.

09/19/06 8:38 PM & 9/18/06 12:36 PM Caller ID said "IOWA CALL". This is some sort of collections or sales. 1st tim went tovoice mail and they didn't leave a message. Answered second and there was a recorded message that says press 1 to talk to Erika or call an 877 number. I am in zip 60005.

I recieve 3 to 4 calls a day from this number. It is bordering on harassment. They leave no message. So I don't know who they are but I wish they would stop. I am on the do not call registray but that does not stop these types of calls. I live on the East Coast and do not know anyone in Iowa.

It is a national number for a third party debt collector.... They can be sued if continues after you say no more...

I have been getting calls from this Iowa number for months at home and just ignore them. Although I did turn my ringer down because of the high frequency of calls that they make. They never leave a message. Today however, I recieved a call from this number on my cell phone. That upsets me a little. The woman on the other end asked to verify my name and then asked to verify my address. I told her that I would not verify any information if I did not know who I was speaking to and she said that she would call back another time and then hung up. I recieved this call this morning at 9:15 am. Both my home and cell phone number are on the do not call registry.

They are a collection agency with Directv, that does not communicate with Directv

i HAVE RECIEVED OVER 40 PHONE CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER. I HAD IT TRACED AND HAVE FILED A REPORT FOR HARRASSMENT WITH THE PHONE COMPANY. I HAVE FILED COMPLAIT WITH THIS SITE AND WITH DO NOT CALL REGISTRY. THEY SAY I HAVE AN ACCOUNT AT DIRECTV OVERDUE. I DO NOT HAVE A DIRECT TV ACCOUNT ANYWHERE, ANYTIME. This number is used by a company which makes calls for a number of other companys. One of the companys is DiectTv. If this number keeps calling they are most likely trying to track down an outstanding balance.

I started getting these calls after I disconnected my DirectTV service and switched to cable. I got a bill from a Collections Agency in Iowa 2 weeks after I started getting the calls. I contacted DirectTv and they said they screwed up and sent me to Collections because my contract was supposedly not fullfilled, but upon further review I was done with it. The stupid calls keep coming and I just let them listen to my answering machine. They never leave a message...

Wife picked up while I was out. Caller asked for me then asked to speak to wife and wanted her name but would not give it and they said they would call back.

Got a call from this number twice today, once earlier (time unknown) , and just now (5:35:15 PM Central), first time my Girfriends mom answered (GFs mom's phone) caller asked for my GF, when asked who they were restated wanted to talk to my GF, was told that she was not here, caller then got rude ("I got buisness with her, I'll call back later.") with Mom and hung up.
