We have had a dozen calls from different companies in the past 2 or 3 weeks. Regardless of the company, they all start out with "This is not a sales call. Police have reported there have been break-ins in your neighborhood."
They want to install a home security system FREE OF CHARGE in exchange for allowing them to post a sign in our yard. NO COST TO ME. Yeah, right.
There is a monthly "connection fee" to connect the system to the phone lines... usually $45 or so.
At the end of the initial pitch, they say press 1 to speak to a representative; press 9 to be removed from our call list. I have pressed 9 EVERY TIME I have gotten one of these calls. So by now I should have been removed from the call list of all these companies.
Yeah, right.

Reported to Do Not Call. Recorded message. ...put sign in your yard... no cost to you... press 1 to hear back from a security agent within the next 30 minutes. Press 9 to be removed from the call list.... As Hello reported, these calls have been coming from a variety of phone numbers. And for me, this just started about 4-6 weeks ago. Very annoying. Atlanta, GA area.
It wasn't Rachel or Ann. How refreshing! These scammers want to install a home security system: That's where you pay them thousands and they gain unlimited access to your home. Ain't bloody likely!
