Although this call was from Sears instead of Dell, it was an automated survey regarding service on a lawn mower repair. They have called at least five times a day for the last several days, never leaving a message on our voice mail.As others have remarked, the only way to get rid of them is to take the call and push the buttons in reply to their six robot-asked questions.
More specifically, the call is from Dell's outsourced survey company, Telesight... *every single time* you call Dell's tech-support, they initiate a survey which takes 5-10 minutes (the performance of the support agent is graded by these surveys -- I've been told that if you don't answer at all, it doesn't count, but that they have to average better than a certain overall value on all responding surveys. I now refuse to answer them, previously I simply gave all 9's). They don't leave a voicemail when they call, and there's no way to take the survey other than by phone.
Dell support survey
Dell calling to do a survey on how I liked my recent tech support interaction with them.
Received multiple calls from this number. Reverse-searching this in my local phone pages showed a landline based in Chicago. The registered service provider is Ameritech Illinois. After the 4th or 5th call, someone finally decided to speak - turns out to be a telephone surveyor completing some kind of survey for Direct Energy. Not happy about this...
