Who Called Us

Last evening 2/20/09 I rec'd a call from Research Center. This morning I get a call from: caller ID says Unknown Caller and a #45 appears on the right side. The message said Visa or other card members may be rasing their rates. Hit 6 on your phone to speak to an operator. I suspect it's a scam to get your credit card# or the name of your credit card. How does a person stop this? If they call again I may hit #6 and tell them DO NOT Call me Again. I am registered on the No Call list. A lot of good that did. Fed Up.......... These type of calls have been coming two to three times every day.

Calls everyday. Leaves msg "it's very important we call back." Has accent - very hard to understand. Sounds like it's someone from India. Don't answer - if it's that important they can contact via mail.

number called about 5 times in the last week. I answered once and pressed 1 to speak to live person. The person started saying Hello?, hello? and i asked who she is and she said "i'm busy". Some people just dedicate their lives to wasting other people's time.

If you speak with them and ask them who they are, they hang up on you!

Person asked my husband if veronica smith lived here then we he replied no he asked what our names was he migh tbe able to help us out did not state how, when my husband would not reply and just said no i wont tell you he got mad and then hung up

Call only showed # and Miami, FL. When I called back message # was either disconected or not in service. Maybe we do need to report them to the FL AG's Office.

I googled the number and it returned to a Bea paris in Miami- no message left on my phone. I am on donotcall.gov, and will report it

My message was the same as J.H. However, when I asked what Credit Card Company was calling the person on the other end said, "Oh,know" and then hung up. I also, am on donotcall.gov. I am going to report.

305-885-4211 called me today. Automated message about saving money on debt over 2.5K. pressed one to get telemarketers info and they hung up on me when I asked. I am on the DoNotCall List.

Did a *67 first then called it back. It said "This number is no longer in service." And it had just called me!

305-885-4211 showeed on my caller ID and there was not any message left on my voice mail so I assumed it was a telemarket call.

Recorded message...said vehicle warranty was expiring and need to renew...believe it is a scam to get credit card info. Hung up before end of message.

got a call from a computer who said I could lower my credit card interest rates. I pressed one to speak to a live person and told them I am on the do not call list. The person who answered was really rude and started answering me all kinds of questions and insulting me. I then hung up.

Got a phone call, no one was on the other end. Good thing my toddler wasn't home, or he would have woken up. What happened to the donot call registeries? I've been getting more and more of these calls everyday.

I received a call from this number but didn't answer it in time. I called the number back and the operator said the number had been disconnected. How could they call me and I couldn't call them back.

They didn't leave a message, but I dialed *69 and I got the number that way

Just got a call from this number, didn't answer it, but they didn't leave a message. Just another irritant in this world.

Same BS ~ Supposed CC company on a auto dial.
I pressed one and as for the bank they worked for and they immediatedly disconnected the call. To press this issue with the DNC list you must know the Bank.

Same deal "Seems to be from some unidentified credit card company. The recorded message said "there's nothing wrong with your account, but to get a lower rate on your credit card, you must call immediately." My number is registered in donotcall.gov

I'm on the national "do not call list" with the 2k fine for spammers. If anyone knows the company I will be glad to report them on the Federal Site. Bookmarking this page for future checks...

I wouldn't talk to anyone who called this way, They may be fake sales persons trying to get Info to steal your identity. If they were on the up & up, they wouldn't need to hide their true Caller ID. Think about it, They want to give you a credit card? They want your info over the phone. NEVER give out personal info to ANYONE who calls you on the phone!!! Get their number, check out to make sure they are a legitimite company and call them back.
There are too many scammers out there, and too many trusting souls who get taken to cleaners. GET SMART!! Hang up!

MIAMI, FL 305-885-4211. I got this call today, I have been getting similar calls from other numbers also. After reading comments here, I did a google search on 'phone spoof'. There is a new scam out, you can buy a calling card and it fakes the caller ID. You can put in any number & name you want to show up on the caller ID and no one will ever know where the call is really coming from. This "Caller ID Spoofing" is just another scam to harrass unsuspecting people. As if there isn't enough aggravation in the world. They don't care about the no-call lists and probably are selling anything legitimate anyway. Best thing is to report the time & date w/number to FCC and not even answer it anymore. Same as what BG said - some REGIS company called and automated message said the same thing if I had $2.5K in debt. I wish they stopped calling!

Think the recording said they were called REGIS something or other and I could get a special deal on a transfer to their credit card but had to be at least $2500 in debt. This would be my last notification for this opportunity. I did not opt to hold and speak with someone about this, but did press "3" to no longer be notified from this company. I, also, am on the nocall list. I've seen emails telling about calls requesting people to press a # in a situation similar to this and that allowed the callers to access information of the victim. Can this be true?

Got got a call from here. Unknown name on caller id. Google shows this number as belonging to Bea Paris at 50 W. 7th Street, Miami, FL 33125.

305-885-4211 called our home, a private & unlisted number. They left no message, I credit that to a very good voice message on our VM that makes callers wonder if they have dialed the wrong number.

Tried to call them back. Recording said number was disconnected. On a Sunday night at 8:30p.m. no less. What wires are they crossing to make a call on a number that is disconnected? Maybe telephone fraud.

Told her I was going to report and sue her - she laughed, told me to "enjoy wasting my time" and hung up. I'm going to be in Florida next month - think I'll visit the AG. I also think the number from the caller ID is spoofed - it's probably some retired lady in Miami getting hit by the fraudster.

Got a call from this number...tried to call them back says number not working....looks like credit card offer SPAM call,,,my home number is registered DO NOT CALL LIST...hope she gets busted.

Same as all the others comments. I actually pressed "1" and told them to remove my number, then they hung up on me. I called back and the number was "disconnected". Total scam. Please report this to the FCC like me. These people deserve to be shut down. If enough of us complain, they will get hit with an $11,000 fine for each call.
