How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

This is happening more and more. Just happened again and the man was rude when I told him I want these automated solicitations to stop. I am on the federal do not call list and tell them that, but they say it is not a solicitation. It IS an invasion of my privacy and I'm sick of it. How do we stop this?
I will try this from Debbie though: Thanks Debbie!
When you get a call from these people, pick up the reciever and immediately start hitting the pund sign (just about 6-7 times) and hang up. From what I am told this confuses their computer and you will be kicked off. I don't gaurantee it will work all the time.
Unknown caller, didn't leave message - for the record..
Mm
This is one of several numbers they use. They give the exact same message from 386-304-1673 (please see my comments on that number) and others. I have turned them in to DoNotCall.gov, I have call the number listed below ("Richard Otway Regulatory Consultant Florida Division of Consumer Services Phone: 850-410-3699 Fax: 850-410-3801 Complaint File # 0804-1293/RO) and offered my name and number if there is anything I can do to help prosecute these scumbags.
Not at home when call came in. A partial, unintelligible message was left.
I do not answer numbers I do not know.
This has worked for me with other annoying calls that are computer generated. When you get a call from these people, pick up the reciever and immediately start hitting the pund sign (just about 6-7 times) and hang up. From what I am told this confuses their computer and you will be kicked off. I don't gaurantee it will work all the time.
I get calls from this number at least once a week. I don't answer. The caller ID says "Card Services". I called them back just now and the number has been disconnected.
These people are ID thieves.. and harrass people and wear them down...DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO AND when you see them on your caller ID DON'T answer.
Hit 2, IF I was not interested. I doubt it will work. I reported to donotcall

They call me about once a week. They are a company that specializes in lowering your current interest rates or so they claim. They go by the name of Financial Services and claim to be out of Atlanta Georgia. They are not in the records of the Better Business Bureau. They will not release their true corporate identity or their corporate address address or phone number. If you attempt to get this information from them over the phone they will hang up on you. If you ask them to take you off their call list they will ask you for your phone number to have you removed but they will no remove you. You will continue to get calls from them. They apparently target those with good credit scores since they knew this about me. I think they may be an identity theft ring fishing for your personal information. You can't file a complaint on them since they hide their identity. My advice is to answer the phone then drag out as long of a conversation with them as possible to waste their time and money but do not give them any true vital information about yourself.
I just received a call from these people who I though at first were from my own credit card co. when they said that since I had pain my account on time for 6 mom they were offering me a lower interest rate which is not outlandish then they asked me to call the number on the back of my cc while they were on conference call and I said wait a min what co are you calling from that is not a standard practice they then put me on the phone with the "higher" manager and she said they needed to verify my debt w/o lowering my credit score I asked what co they were calling from and they said "financial services" I said what is you web site and she said the website is only open to people who are in the program then I looked up the number while she was on the phone and here I am...needless to say I hung up!
They keep calling all day and night. I would like it to stop
Just finished with this 'company' again, for the last time (hopefully). Tired of receiving the calls, so pressed the option 1 to get a rep on the line. Spoke softly for a bit, to make sure rep was holding phone tightly to ear, then blew a hard blast on a police whistle directly into the phone (hope the headache and ringing lasts the rest of the day ...
just got that call, pick up to hear a recording that says something like "don't be alarmed but this is your last chance". I have gotten a "last chance" call for months. I pressed one to speak to someone to tell them not to call, but since I've done this before in an angry way, i decided to try something different, based on advice I've gotten on other sites. I just start talking in a baby voice and every now and then sing a little burbly song. Eventually he hangs up and i feel happy, not angry! I've heard that eventually they stop calling if you keep doing this.
PS I also called the number back and it says disconnected. That alone should tell everyone this is a scam.
This call happens about once a month. I've complained to the cellular carrier for the number but their response was unsatisfactory. If the frequency increases, I guess I'll file a complaint with the Florida AG and whomever else comes to mind.
Over the last two years, about 80% of our incoming calls on our landline are "unwanted intrusions"... I need to get one of those units that intercepts calls before the first ring and routes it to a particular voicemail based on the caller ID. :P
same as everyone else. dial the number, rings 2x's then recording says "no longer in service". do a reverse and get "unlisted/unavailable". map shows location of origination is miami along with street and pic. of building. next time i'm in the area i plan a visit, we'll see how they like being "solicitated". anyone want to come along?
when you call this number back, it rings twice and then a automated message comes up that says the number is disconnected.
My phone service is new and they called me and I'm unlisted. I also put my number on do not call list, I'm gonna try dial "0" and see if I get the operater or star for a login. Now that I see the posts here.
I have no credit, good or bad. Damn scammers
I am glad I thought to google this number. I was afraid it might be a customer telling me NOT to ship his order to Miami due to the storms....upon reading your comments I can see now I am glad I did not waste my time or money calling this number.
They called and asked if I would like to receive a lower interest rate on my loan. I pushed #1 and it directed me to a man that asked me if I would like to lower my interest rate on any of my credit cards. I said" I dont give my credit card number over the phone and he just Hung UP. I traced the number to Miami Florida.
Pre-recorded message saying to "press one if you would like to lower your interest rate" ......... So, I did.
The lady answering ask something so fast I couldn't understand her. I told her I was in the South and she
would have to slow down to talk to me. She said "Do you have Visa or Master Card with a high interest rate or
do you pay them off every month?" I responded "that doesn't matter, what company are you?" and she responded
"Financial Services" and I asked "What phone number could I use to call you back?" and she hung up the call.
The No Call List is a joke. Too many loopholes. Too little enforcement.
Tried to "Phish" stuff from my wife. I was HOME, fortunately. Claimed to be "Financial Services"
Another annoying call/solicitation! I pick up the line and IMMEDIATELY hang up. I won't even give them a chance to speak!
i included this link (with map showing) in email to abuse@bellsouth.net .
whocalled.us#
i pressed 1 and asked her where she got this job pestering people.
The id said "Miami Florida and the areacode is right so i sent email to abuse@bellsouth.net.
This was a machine dialed solicitation I just received, when the message concluded, I pressed "1" for more information/to speak to a representative. The woman on the phone said: "...because of your excellent payment history, you're entitled to a lower interest rate." The individual could not answer my questions regarding what financial institution she represented, what credit facility she was referring to, or why her organization had my credit and contact information when I have executed every conceivable "opt-out" with every financial institution I do business with. She hung up.
I've been getting these phone calls at least once per week for several weeks. It's automated and they always say it's my last chance to lower interest rates. To press "1" for more information. This time I played along and pressed "1" to find out who these people are. The woman who answered the phone identified herself as "Card Services...do you want to lower your interest rate". As soon as I said "No - I just want to know who's making these phone calls" I heard a click and they hung up. Using caller id I telephoned back and received the "this number has been disconnected" message.
I just received another call from this number and when I tried to play along with the pitch, in order to talk with someone of "higher authority", the guy informed me that I wouldn't be transferred to another person until I gave him the info that he was requesting. Which of course was getting to my credit card info. No, I did not give it to him but asked if I could call him back and he said he didn't know the what number that I should use???Yes, I know it is a scam, but I have requested many times before to be removed and many times I also have not answered but they continue to call back on a frequent basis. When I tried to call back the number listed on my caller id, I also received a message that the phone number dialed was no longer working. Not sure how that works but either way, I'm going with the post before me and making a complaint.
when i asked to take my name of the list they hung up
This is the third call I have received from this company. I told them the first two times to delete my number from their call list.
I tried calling back and it says this number has been disconnected. WTF?
ALWAYS report these calls! These people must be stopped from this incessant harrassment!
