Who Called Us

OK here it is. Got a call from the spoofed number stating they would reduce credit card interest rates. Pressed 1 to speak with someone. Listened to their little spill and its basically the same stuff. Heather from account services crap. The place Personal Data Systems is supposedly run by lawyers under the name My Consumer Law Group.com (Law Group PA). They want a piece of your pocket book by supposedly making payments to your credit card company on your behalf, but of course they would be paid. The office seems to be small with lots of noise in the back gound. They use spoofed numbers and were going to actually send me some BS info packet after I sent them a payment. I gave them a bogus SSN, address, name and date of birth. After listening to the sales pitch, I told him I was in law enforcement and why were they violating the Do Not Call list. Of course he said they weren't and they would be happy to remove me. I've heard they have a high turn over rate and of course they are a scam. I think I scared the daylights out of this guy by telling him what I knew. The calls won't stop because they'll have some other idiots calling you because of their high turn over rate. The only folks who can stop them are the FBI because they are calling across state lines. The FBI can work with Attourney Generals of other states. I'm sure they will change the number that they gave me but call 1-866-659-9866 and ask to speak with Calvin. I told him the entire conversation was being recorded and that the number was being traced. He was paralyzed with fear. What you can do is to record that message they leave on your phone, call them at 866-659-9866 and play the message back to them. They don’t like it very much.

SCAM ALERT - I am already on the National Do not call list and - I got called today from 305-222-1966 The caller identified themselves as Account Services advertising cheap mortgages that I only had days left on my account before I lost money. I asked what Bank they were associated with and that I never heard of Account Services- the caller said they were associated with over 500 banks. I asked that I be placed on their do not call list and SHE HUNG UP ON ME. I tried calling the number back and it states it is no longer listed. I tried tracking them down on the internet to no avail. This is frustrating, hopefully the new congress will be less available for sale at popular prices than the former regime. The congress members who are responsible for this crap need to face indictment for treason, and then they will know who they work for, as they approach the gallows, firing squad, or whatever convenient manner of dispatch can be arranged. The people who own and work for these crooks need about two decades of hard labor to help them understand honesty as a virtue.

Last chance for lower credit cards. When I got hooked with a real person, told her (name was Christine) that I was reported her. Go to the do not call website & report on these kind of calls.

Receive calls on a daily basis stating it is the FINAL chance to lower the interest rate on my credit card. I do not pay interest on any credit card and if it is the FINAL chance why do they call every day?

The numbers do change. I have been keeping a spreadsheet with dates, times and the number that shows on caller ID along with the names given when I choose to answer.

The real way to stop this is to contact your state senator. There was a bill S.704 introduced in 2007, but the senate did not pass it. Congress did pass the bill that makes "spoofing" caller id numbers illegal. :It has been held up in the Senate since December 2007. For verification go to govtrack.us .

If we inundate our senators with complaints, they may finally act on this legislation.

"This is an important announcement" - the usual scam about last chance to get better credit card rates. I'm so sick of these scum. When is something going to be done to stop this nonsense?

This is way to scarey in this time of solicitation theft. Get this company shut down. Report them to the Better Business Bureau. They call my house 3 times a day. When I ask them who they are, they hang up on me. This is harrassment and is a crime. I have contacted the authorities.

This is a central calling service in south Florida that hires themselves out to several other "companies" that are even bigger sleaze-bags than they are. This is why a number of different schemes get presented by their reps. If their switchboard equipment is set to outgoing calls only, there is no incoming line, which is why you get a disconnected message from the phone company. DNC lists have no teeth because the FCC requires information that most people wouldn't even think of collecting before they attempt to file a complaint, even if they know how or where to file. Operations like this are legal, otherwise, because Congress refuses to pass laws that "would interfere with free enterprise". This is all part of our wonderful, modern, technological world - enjoy. Oh yes, there are several other 305 numbers that do the same thing.

Called saying we were fixing to lose our low interest rate on our credit card. we called our credit card company and they said that it is some company trying to steal accounts.

I have gotten numerous calls from this #. I have continuously requested for them NOT to call. And of course they still call. When I try to speak to a person about this they hang up on me. I tried to call back and no answer.

Prerecorded message left on my voicemail. Message was that they'd tried to contact us several times (not true) and this was our last chance to get lower credit card rates.

I got a call form this number today on caller Id it said unknown name so if this is a comp. calling why is my call ID saying unknown

good idea to set the phone down and tie up the line for a while.

keep an air horn by your phone and let them have it when a real person comes on the phone. they call you on a phony phone number 7 or 8 times a day. I bet after the air horn they stop calling

I got a call from this number forwarded from my office to my cell phone. When I did not answer they left an automated message that said "Fire"....as though I was getting a call from an alarm system. I would call that a crank call, and a pretty nasty one. I dialed the number back and it said disconnected.

These calls are regarding extended warrenties or perhaps lower your credit card intrest rates relentless calls every day I get them so I just set the phone down until it beeps hopefully keeping them from calling one other person. I did hear a guy yelling "HANG UP YOUR PHONE"once hehehe

"Paulette" wouldn't give me a call back # and hung up on me. I was being ridiculously polite to her. Someone tell me why its so hard for the phone company and law enforcement to get together and just shut down these known numbers from scam telemarketers, if not actually prosecute them and put these scumbags in prison? For every dozen or so pissed off people interrupted by these criminals, some poor trusting elderly person falls for this and probably gets their savings wiped out, identity thieved, and god knows what else. Anyone aware of this, and that has the power to try to prevent this, but doesn't, should be ashamed of themselves and fired from their jobs.

This is not just someone ignoring the do-not-call list.. these are clearly scammers. I get called by them ALL the time--almost daily lately. Sometimes they call from an 062 area code (phony), sometimes from 305. This time from 305-222-1966. It is always the same though; they want all the info. on your credit cards and claim to be able to lower your interest rates.

I play along and usually they hang up pretty fast. This time she talked for a bit. When asked for the company phone number she said it was her first day so she didn't know it (heard that one before from them.) She also couldn't tell me a web site or state they were registered with (though she claimed that she was in Atlanta.) She had no comment as to why they were calling people on the do-not-call. She hung up when I nicely suggested that she quit this scam and informed the FBI about the company. ;-)

Please, someone tell us how to get the FBI and/or CIA on these groups. The problem will get much worse without some legal action!

This person identified themselves as account services. This is some sort of scam.

This # calls anytime between 2-5X a week, sometimes more than once a day, and always while I'm at work! Have never left a message or recording. I've started turning off my answering machine when I leave in the morning.

Could this all be same company? Z1 Credit is 5-062-292-7605. "out of area" (i.e. out of country) = 5-062-275-6075 or 211-5415 or 218-6160. Also shows up as "private caller" 2-3x/day. Then there's Call Center out of Florida 305-222-1966.

I'm so sick of getting calls like this that I've taken to just picking up the receiver and putting it back down to cut off the ringing and the answering machine, if they let it ring enough times to get that far.
