Comments on other caller forums indicate the reps may claim to be from a name brand insurer, such as Allstate, Met Life, and State Farm. A comment in Aug 2009 links this number to a ''payphone at the Vail Village Inn Vail Colorado''. Someone in May 2010 claims to be from the call center and defends his job of lead generation for the insurers on dubious grounds, claiming ''We don't use the information illegally''. He prefaces with the contradictory remark, ''I wouldn't work for a telemarketing company if it was for sales.'' Another rep comes along in March 2011 and cops the same attitude.
Neither rep bothers to identify his employer, of course, and they think their calls are doing you a big fat favor. Personally I won't be told that lead generation is not the same as sales, nor will I accept any other flimsy excuse for not scrubbing the DNC registry.
A few of you on all the forum sites would make poor research assistants, not even caring to hover your cursor over the term ''NANPA'' near this page's header or wonder what it means, mainly that MCI Metro is the telco *carrier* and not the call source.
MCIMetro Access Transmission Services, LLC d.b.a. Verizon I got a call from Boulder 303-476-9929 1/30/2012 8:06 p.m.this is the most recent of 4 call, and hang ups, no messages left. I screen my calls, and this is my ISP phone history record. This time, I picked it up, and a man asked for Randy. I told him I've had this phone number since Jan.2, and to take me off his list. He didn't answer. Randy J.Gantz had this number before I did, and he must have been a deadbeat, because I get all him debt, calls.
This # calls my house several times a week. No one is on the other end. I call back and get an answering machine...All operators are busy? What operators?!?
This number has called my home several times. They wouldn't speak to my husband. I thought it was a bill collector as my husband is ill and they harrass us all the time. I called to tell them to quit calling me. I got an answering machine. I am glad I looked this up. They couldn't do much with my credit thou.LOL
they are calling on our business line....what's up with that?
This number just called out of the blue, i let my machine pick up and they just hung up. Very spooky. Having trouble with my computer and this scares me.
I didn't pick up. Didn't know who it was, wasn't interested in finding out.
My personal belief is that this is contributing to identity theft in this country. What's the purpose of these calls? To sell something? So they call a hundred people and 99 of them get angry because it's unsolicited (or they're on the do-not-call list). Just one person bites on what they're selling. Isn't that how identity theft works? Phishing scams go out to thousands of people. One person believes they are getting a message from a trusted source, clicks on a link and responds to it and BAM! An identity is stolen (hopefully, that is all that is stolen). If I used my phone to do what these people are doing, I'd expect to get reprimanded. Apparently, these people don't think the same way I do. Here's an idea, though (and I apologize if this has been suggested before). They had to purchase their service from somebody. I have to pay for my phone. So why don't we penalize the service providers for selling their service to someone who uses it for, oh I don't know, calling people on a do-not-call list or, more importantly, IDENTITY THEFT??? I'm guessing the provider(s) won't do anything because that will affect their profitability. Reputable service providers should be able to cross-reference calls made against a do-not-call database. If someone uses a listing of theirs to call a number on a do-not-call list, they are immediately suspended from operation.
They call every night, same time, non-stop for... well. since I can remember really. We have answered and there is no response, then it hangs up on us. We have treid calling back, busy response.
At least one call every day from these scumbags.
2 calls from this number, ID says Bolder Calls, after several hours of calls this is linked to a phone scam fraud that goes by the company name MCIMETRO, ATS Inc. There are several other websites that report this number of these idiots trying to sell aka get your personal information. The numbers are traced back to company above. I found a bus tel number for them in chicago ah surprise no one answers, it appears this company name has popped up in many states.
i called back to see who they are and all i get is a busy line?!?!?!?!
This has to be stopped. No one answers when you pick up to answer. Something should be done about this.
and when I call it back, it rings 1/2 ring then says disconnected
call but never leave message or pick up
