Who Called Us

Not the first time they called, just calls from different phone numbers every time they call. Let that be a red flag warning for scams. Called on 5-18-12 at 11:47 a.m.

'we are conducting a short political survey'. Blah blah. Hung up and renewed my DoNotCall.gov ...that will help eventually...maybe. It seemed to work back in the day with land lines.

Survey promising free cruise (duh...scam alert!). But am on the DNC list and have been for years. "Cruise Rep" hung up on me.

Got an empty voicemail from (253) 382-9987. Sounds like marketing.

They call my cell phone until I block my cell phone. Then they call my home phone. Somehow or another they have this information and want you to answer opinion polls???!!

I too am on the National Do Not Call List and have filed a complaint. I do believe it is a collection agency trying to find info. Have you also received calls from 866-392-3100 or 540-767-7800 John P. Frye? If my theory is right this is him or he released the info.

I have received multiple calls from this number on my work cell number which is on the do not call registry. How do we block these calls?

This is because THE **PHONE COMPANIES** ARE SELLING OUR NUMBERS TO THESE TELEMARKETERS, THEMSELVES. I KNOW this because *we* have VERIZON and have been getting these SPAM calls since AT LEAST 2004; that's when I started keeping a LOG of them.

And, just recently, my husband's WORKPLACE SWITCHED from another carrier to ***VERIZON***. Even before he got his new phone, but AFTER ***VERIZON*** had gotten the LIST OF NUMBERS TO SWITCH OVER, he began getting a TON of SPAM CALLS on his Work Cell. ALL HOURS of the DAY and EVENING, when before he only got the rare occasional call.

Our personal cells are INDEPENDENT, pay-as-we-use-them, and we only get a few, rare calls on them, too. Every time we call in with a service problem to ***VERIZON***, they TRY AND GET OUR CELL NUMBERS but we REFUSE!!! I'm sure if we gave them, we'd be paying for SPAM CALLS GALORE on our cells.

TODAY, (MAY 2012) in my ***VERIZON*** Phone Bill, there was an insert about a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST ***VERIZON*** About the CRAMMING (allowing SPAM CHARGES on your Phone Bill without your CONSENT or PRIOR KNOWLEDGE.) We got "CRAMMED" *IMMEDIATELY* AFTER WE UPGRADED TO INTERNET with ***VERIZON***. I'm going to PUT IN A CLAIM, because they did INDEED DO THAT TO US and now THEY ARE GOING TO PAY.

How soon before a SAVVY LAWYER FILES A CLASS ACTION SUIT against ***VERIZON***, ATT and all the other BIG CORPORATIONS for INFLICTING THESE CALLS ON US under the "GUISE" that it is criminals overseas or 'little' spammers.

*WHY* do you think this is SO EASY for the SCAMMERS to keep this up? WHY do you think this HASN'T STOPPED YET? CONGRESS IS PROTECTING these S.O.B. CORPORATE CRIMINALS.

PEOPLE WAKE UP!!!!! THE BIG CORPORATIONS *OWN* THESE TELEMARKETING FIRMS (including the ones OVERSEAS). [Ever watch the TV Show "OutSourced"??] The SOONER we BAND TOGETHER AND SUE, THE SOONER THE CALLS WILL STOP (and we will have money in our pockets, to boot!)

**FILE a COMPLAINT** after **EACH AND EVERY** ONE OF THESE CALLS with the DoNotCall List AND the FTC, if you can.

SAVVY, SMART ATTORNEYS – WHERE ARE YOU??? PUT YOUR CLAIM IN AGAINST ***VERIZON*** and ATT and TIME-WARNER, and COMCAST and..... ASAP.

BTW I got a call at 2:42 from this number.
CALLER ID said "WASHINGTON" but wasnt' home at the time, and no message was left.
I'm sure its the same SCAMMERS as the 252-382-9966 calls I got earlier in the week.

This number keeps calling both my house and cell phone!!!! I finally answered the last call on my cell and they hung up!!!!!

Recorded message on my cell phone wanting me to take a political survey and be rewarded with a two day cruise to the Bahamas. They wanted me to press 1 to be connected with a representative or 9 to have my name removed from their list. I hung up not wanting to use my cell phone minutes for their unwanted call.

3 calls: answered the first time, no reply from other side and then I hung up. I ignored them the second time while I was "googling" their number and landing on this site. Answered the 3rd time and was intending to have some Friday afternoon fun with them, but got no reply on the other end, so I hung up and posted this message for all of you. Have a great weekend...!!

Claimed to be conducting a political survey by "Independent Survey," asked a single question, then wanted to thank me for my participation by gathering personal information so that they could "register me" for a "vacation." When I declined and started to tell them that I was on the do not call list they hung up. If you get a call from this number file a complaint with the FCC at complaints.donotcall.gov so that information about the call will be logged and can be used in a class action suit against the telemarketer that's posing as a political survey organization.

Saw # on caller id. No message.

called with a automated political servey promising a free cruise which would cost me $200.00.
Hung up abruptly when I said I would have to consult my spouse before making any financial commitments.

For sure scam and likely fishing for more personal info. If a collector, they are likely skip-tracing.

Without providing details have any of you been turned over to a collection agency. First time in my life I have and now in addition to the collection company I start receiving calls from this company. Seems kinda fishy to me, just wondering if there is a connection here.

At least my 3rd call from this number - when I call back to ask them to take me off their list I get a busy signal - they are calling my business cell ph - NOT GOOD!

5/18/2012 11:23am EDT. The call was to my cell phone. I didn't answer.

This number oddly has now called my cell phone (numerous times until blocked and immediately when the block expired until reblocked), then my home phone recently, and now my workplace counties away from home. This is downright creepy. They never leave a voice mail on my phone or home phone and hung up on me at the work phone. It's bad enough that I recognized the number that was showing on caller ID when they hung up. I've read it's a scam company. My question is how the heck did they get all of my contact numbers??? I don't give my cell phone number out to companies and I avoid giving my work number to any companies as well. I'm officially creeped out. I've had these problems ever since getting an iPhone and I'm wondering if Apple provided my number to all of these scammers, especially since they all seem to be on the West Coast (including Apple). What gives??!! I'm disgusted and annoyed and as I said before, officially creeped out.

found out that their Lat is 47.2565 and Long is -122.4369. I typed that into Google Earth and had it take me to Street level. It's a warehouse at 821 Dock Street in Tacoma, Washington. They go by both Independant Survey Group and Pacifictel and their carrier is QWEST. We will write them a letter to have them take us off their computer if we have to. It's amazing what you can find out on the Internet if you keep digging.

They called at 9:00 a.m. EST and the machine said it was Sarah from Independant Survey Group so I hung up.
