How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:

Getting these calls like clockwork on a daily schedule, warning about increased crime reported by the FBI. Took the time after the last call to press 1 for an operator and act being interested in their product. All went well until I requested the name and number of the company I was dealing with, they just hang up on me. I also pressed their no. 2 button to be taken off their list, but that seems to have encouraged them to bombard me with more calls. Btw, I'm also on the national DNC list.
They called here twice... Second time I made the mistake of answering since I know someone with family in that state. Wasn't too happy to get yet another Security System robocall.
I filed a complaint at donotcall.gov, for whatever its worth. I'm at the point where I'll ignore all out of state calls I don't recognize now. If it's important, they can leave a message.

Please stop allowing Keiyoro to play the victim, thanks.
Please stop allowing Keiyoro to play the victim, thanks
Just got a call from a company offering "free" security systems to those that put a sign in their yard. This is the same possible scam that has been around for a couple of years so don't be fooled. If they were an honest company they would not be breaking the law by using a recorded message and also calling those on the do not call list. Telemarketers that do that are IDIOTS or not based in the US!
Get on the DNC, report these scams, or stop complaining. I have been using the DNC for over 5 years and I can tell you that it really does work. We have 2 different phone numbers and hardly EVER get junk calls since we started reporting them.
The caller did not leave a message.
Phone rang. Picked up. No one speaks. Hung up.
Home. Alarm. Again please stop calling me geting tird of it.
Rang once & hung up.
Security system scam again
Using a new call center in Tacoma, Wa. Were calling from North Dakota. A legit home security company -- in
Australia!!! Not here!!!
Voice message from 253 382-9923 asked to place a sign in our yard and receive a free home security system
DID NOT ANSWER , BUT USED THIS SITE TO SEE WHO IT WAS
We have received many calls from this company, but the caller id usually has 'unknown' on it. 1-25-2013.
Call everyday about home alarm
calling my cell phone no message unknown
call says fbi clams many breakins. put sign on front lawn for free security/ was going put on do not call with option 2. decided try get human. well one did come on, i told her not call my f number any more hung up. i get these at least twice a week., put on the list, looks like do not call list is a plain nuisance
Caller ID shows as Washington. Automated message offering home security system.
You have to ask yourself whats the point on being on the national do not call list when the calls keep coming.
No talking or message, simply hung up. Very annoying!
Same of home alarm scam. The beauty of the DNC is that we know they're crooks simply because they're calling us.
If you allow up to place a small sign in your yard, we will install a home security system at no cost to you.
Insurance supplement for Seniors.....
FBI reports there is a break-in every...... Trial ADT system free of charge......
Washington is calling me again. It's not Obama looking for help on the fiscal cliff, Superstorm Sandy, or who should replace the outgoing folks. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR SCAM; they claim to have a security system that is free.
When I tried to call the number and get my number removed from their list it says that it is a disconnected number and is not in service. What kind of scam is this?
Didn't answer; left no message. Please go away!
Robocall stating that the FBI has reported an increase in crime in my area and recommends I get a security system.
They have called several times in the past 2 months , its automated caller speaking of a robbery in our area and they want to set up security in our home ....I want them to stop calling , why wont the law stop these scammers ???
These idiots didn't learn their lesson when they almost had the North Dakota State Police SWAT team heading for their call center. Maybe it's time to send the Washington State Police or Tacoma SWAT teams in!!!
Called but I did not answer. From Washington. They call from one number one time and another number the next.
3 times this month ..a recording stated that the FBI has reported an increase in crime in my area and recommends I get a security system.
Someone with the time and know how should find out what the companies name is. Then find out who is in charge and obtain their home phone .Then post it and we could all call them back around dinner time and tell them we are not interested until they get the hint . (but that would put us on their level)(but then again I am just a flyondwall)
Have been getting calls from this no. All tho it says it is disconnected. It is supposedly the pacific telecommunications group. These calls are the same as stalking. Very annoying. This has been going on for months now.. Apparently they are looking for people who don't have a system in order to rob them. It's a thought! Don't know where their boiler room is but I'm sure a good hacker could. I wonder how many who said they did'nt have one are robbed?
Ongoing security system scam, spoofed phone number. Keeps calling, this was today's load.
EVERYONE KEEPS SAYING THE DO NOT CALL REGISTRY DOES NOT WORK. I WAS RECEIVING A FEW OF THESE CALLS SO I DECIDED TO REGISTER. NOT LONG AFTER I WAS INUNDATED WITH CALLS AND HAVE BEEN FOR THE 2 YEARS SINCE I REGISTER. THE REGISTRY WORKS FOR THE CALLERS BY GIVING THEM YET ANOTHER LIST OF NUMBERS TO CALL !
Fri 1/11/13 3L5pm I picked up without saying anything. after some time, a recording started that the FBI has reported an increase in crime in my area and recommends I get a security system. I was given the option to press 9 to be added to their Do Not Call List. (I'm already on the Nationwide Do Not Call List.) Later, I tried calling the number back to get their name and got a recording that the number was not in service. hmmmm.....
They are selling call blockers in a very decietful, yet clever manner.
253-382-9923 is a Security System Scam
I was not home and they left no message. When I called the number back, a recording (man's voice that did not sound like the typical phone company messages) said the number was no long in service. I see that several people said they had been getting calls from some company trying to sell security systems from this number. I have received quite a few such calls that say things like,
"Don't hang up. The FBI reports there has been a crime in your area.... blah, blah, blah.) When I look at my caller id history, the call does not register at all. The most recent call that appears is the one I received before this number.
I too like a previous comment, rec'd the initial call on 12/20...and then today.
The recording states if I want to know more about free installation and no obligation press 1, when I press 1, the recording starts over (of course), that's how my voice mail is set up. It states to get onto a do not call list to press 9, I press 9 and it saves the message (of course) the voice mail is set up to do that, I get this call regularly and it is such a nuisance. When I call it back, I also get a recording that it is disconnected, which someone has purposely made that recording I think. Some people have too much time on their hands....
The recording says The FBI has reported......and then I hang up. Been getting these calls for weeks.
When I received a call from 253-382-9923 fifteen minutes ago, I called back within one minute and the auto comment I heard stated that the number was disconnected. How can they call from a disconnected number? How do you stop these people?
My called ID showed that WASHINGTON was calling on 12/20/2012 and again on 12/28/2012. I assumed it was Obama contacting me about the upcoming fiscal cliff, and he needed my help. I didn't answer the phone on 12/20 because, quite frankly, I didn't give a darn. But now that Christmas festivities are over and our government needs to come to a decision very soon so we're all not taxed up the wazoo, I answered. It turns out that it wasn't Obama calling; instead, it was some company telling me that I could sign up with them for "free one year security service" to replace my existing security service. I never initiated this call; I'm quite happy with my security service.
So consumers beware: who would sign up with a security service for free when you didn't initiate the business deal? No one should do that. This could be a scam that could be very costly. Give the keys of your house to the thief and watch what happens!
They call every 2 days, regular as clockwork...continued calls from this number even though we are on the National and State Do Not Call list.
Prix keep calling. Pacific Telecom reports as the carrier when I call back, it seems they work for a lot of these jerks.
If the powers that be were serious about getting these calls to stop, they'd have a "Please Call List" which would be infinitely shorter.
(While writing this I got ANOTHER call from McKinley TX. I don't know anyone there...2 calls in 10 minutes and I'm on the DNC registry)
12/17/12 11:36am came up as " WASHINGTON " ???
We are on the no-call list but these calls are still coming through. No one on the other end, phone hangs up.
I am about as disgusted with the FTC's inaction on these creeps as I am with the creeps themselves.
Just keep blocking these calls. Then they get another number and those get blocked as well.
Same crap, different day. Notice that they keep changing their phone number so you can't even block all their alias numbers. GE Security systems scam. Ratbastards! If I find out where they live, they WILL go offline!
Phony FBI warning about home break-ins. Probably the same Australian Security company that was calling from North Dakota. They are "Evosecurity", and they are a scam!!!
Message starts with: "The FBI reports..." Security alarm scam. VERY active scammer: used at least five different numbers in calls to our house.
Scammer trying to frighten senior citizens with break-in threat.
These people are unbelievable, I mean they are racist on the phone as soon as you pick up
Have been called several times by this number trying to sell a security system. A recorded message at the end says dial 9 to be removed from their calling list... doesn't work. I called the number back and it said it was a disconnected number... scam written all over this call.
They call every 2 days, regular as clockwork...
continued calls from this number even though we are on the National and State Do Not Call list.
getting calls from this number and others for the same security scam.
When I answered it, a pre-recorded message started. It go as far as "THE FBI" before I hung up
Scam. Can't get them to stop. Waste their time and get vulgar.
Veena Mukhi She was @ NACI messing around with a Geography teacher who is married then when she was over @ Kipling she liked those black somali guys who had a big one and chewed the weed. now she is here and we wonder what she is doing. She shudd stay at home and get generic indian viagara for her husband this christmas hohohohoh
I have repeatedly asked them to stop calling and this morning when I told the Person on the phone that this was a Do not call Number I was asked wither I was English or Australian I replied that It didn't matter which I was and was told that I take a backseat to Americans and they Hung up, Very professional
National Do Not Call registry doesn't work - period. Get a phone with DECT which will allow you to block numbers like this. Since getting this phone my phone does not ring 1/4 as much with these scam and annoying calls.
f. b. i. warns there are break-ins in your area. f. b. i. does not have anything to do with break-ins. the police do so an obvious fake call.
Wed. 12/5/12 4:56pm I am on the DNC lists yet I receive calls from this number regularly and usually at dinner time. I do not answer them. When I try to call back I get a recording that this number is not in service.
ggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Someone or some computer generated calls but no one on the others side says anything.
We never answer unknown numbers. This one left a long rambling message about a security system (we already have one). We are also on the DNC list both national and state. On their message they told us that we could press "2" to be put on THEIR DNC list. I will be reporting them to the FCC tomorrow! It is their job to check the list before calling.
Scam
Got a robo-call from them earlier and reported it to the FTC. This time they didn't leave a message.
Nothing that you do will stop them from calling you. The major players behind this have made millions of dollars, which means that they are too big to fail.
One of the major players specializes in aiding the rich with tax evasion and shell corporations set up in Belize. You can bet that the well to do in this country are not getting lower your credit card interest rate calls and due to that fact our government just considers a few phone calls a minor annoyance.
The FCC has temporarily halted 5 of the minor non profitable boiler rooms. They will receive a slap on the wrist and be back at it within a few days. In the meantime the calls will continue since the major money is being made with what is called a CNAM revenue-sharing program through companies like telephonemanagement.net
In their own words: Every day your company makes thousands of outbound phone calls. Every one of those calls generates revenue for many companies, why not yours? Our CNAM revenue-sharing program helps you make money every time a Caller ID request is made by a phone carrier. A high-traffic call center can lose hundreds to thousands of dollars a day to phone carriers by allowing them to charge for access to your own data.
You can now see why the criminals keep calling even though they know you won't fall for their scam. If someone does make the mistake of answering the phone and falling for their con then it is just icing on the cake for them. These people are the lowest form of filth on this planet. The only way to stop this is to contact the FBI and ask why this crime family is allowed to operate and facilitate the ongoing criminal operations. This is one of the reasons that the RICO act was put in place, so why aren't they using it. Is this because this isn't a high profile, news worthy operation or is the FBI too understaffed and busy with Homeland Security issues. Maybe if we were rich they would take this seriously, but then if we were rich we would be using that criminal organizations services and protecting them instead of trying to shut them down.
There is a blog site that has information on one of these operations: telemarketerspam.wordpress.com
Also on DNC lists and I"ve reported this to the FTC.
CALLS REPEATEDLY. SOME SCAM FOR A "FREE' GE SECURITY SYSTEM...JUST PAY INSTALLATION AND MONTHLY FEE.FIRST I AM ON THE FEDERAL AND MASSACHUSETTS DO NOT CALL REGISTRIES. 2ND... WHY WOULD I BUY A SECURITY SYSTEM FROM SOME RANDOM PERSON WHO CALLS ME FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY INSTEAD OF SOMEONE WHO IS LOCAL? THIS IS A FAKE PHONE NUMBER ANYWAY PROBABLY COMING FROM CANADA
Do not call list is such a joke.
I am on the federal and Florida do not call list and they call anyway
Called them back 6 hours after they called. Got a message stating - you have reach a disconnected number. Obviously a scam.
File a complaint with the fcc.gov, there is an online form. They cannot call anyone using a spoofed id(fake) or number. They id shows Hollywood Fl or Plano TX , or any fake id or number, this is illegal as of Dec 2010. Please file a complaint or a law suit. . Please make a difference file a complaint under spoofed calls. I also filed a complaint in the state of Florida since they need a license to call you in Florida. Committing a federal felony such as spoofing should get their license revoked.
Give the company a call and tell them what you think.
look up who is calling help.

Recording: "Don't hang up! Your home has been selected to receive, absolutely free, a General Electric alarm system...." I hung up. (I happen to know that it's no big deal for an alarm company to offer a free system in exchange for a contract for monitoring at $$$ per month. And if I'm going to do that I'd rather deal with a reputable company than one that does cold robocalls.
got 2 calls from this number today.
Message Starts. "Don't hang up, you have won a security system ..blah blan blah An obvious scam... Tacoma Washington is over 3000 miles away. Too bad the government do not call list is such a joke.
Received a call from 253-382-9923 on my cell phone. Only the phone number was in the Caller ID and they did not leave a voice-mail message.
months they have been calling me...they hang up on me when I politely ask to take my name off...I want to drive there and flip out
Gave a long pitch about their security alarms. When I asked where they were located, he said Taxas. When I assked for his website, he cursed at me and hung up. Scammers.
Scam artists trying to harvest private information
Security System Scam preying on victims of Huricane Sandy
I answered the call but no one on the other end replied.
Get yourself a cheap air horn and whenever these fools call up, let them start talking. Then say something back to them quietly so they will have to listen more intently. Then blast their eardrums to hell. Maybe then they will learn.
They have a lot of nerve calling after 9:00pm!
To "Pat": They do not say they are from the FBI. The recorded voice says "The FBI reports that there are blah blah blah number of break-ins in the United States blah blah blah." If the recording said they were from the FBI, I would probably call the FBI to tell them about it.
Recorded message saying "The FBI recommends that you protect yourself from break-ins" then the recording drops out and it disconnects. I assume it's a scam. I called the number back on another line and a "Verizon Wireless" message came on saying that the number had been either disconnected or changed. So the number is obviously spoofed.
Almost back to back calls from this number and 206-496-0929, caller ID "Winner." Didn't answer either and suspected the same boiler room of both. Reading here, I learn I was right. And Resident47, you are my hero! I am grateful for all the info you post here.
They didn't leave a message and (of course) I didn't pick up to find out who they were.
I concur with Resident47. Pacific Telecom is the "King Rat" of harassing bogus phone calls. At 800notes.com, you will discover pages of identifications for sites and connections beholden to PacificTel.
The strongest weapon consumers have against this monster is not the FCC, but the ballot box. For PacificTel to get away with what it does on American soil, it has to have friends in high places -- friends who are making a lot of money on the deal. Behind those friends are elected officials who are getting their cut as well. Use the ultimate weapon of the ballot box to vote out of office those "mugwumps" who have been chowing down on the public largesse for too long.
If I wanted to purchase something I would go to the store or I would pick up the phone! Robo calls are illegal but some people are stupid and give out information so they come up with anything they can to get info! One call they are doing security systems the next is telemarketing...When they call and you tell them you are on the DNCL they hang up and call back later! I have 5 complaints at the NCAG office.
PacTel clients don't need good connections, only good hiding places. If you'd followed on to the newer blogs often promoted on 800Notes, you'd learn the background, mainly that cheap VOIP service and Caller ID spoofing were not available as tools of concealment to phone scammers when the DNC program was established. The FTC is well aware of this, and will be inviting ideas for a technological defense to be aired at the Autumn summit announced in July.

For ''the gov'mint'' to cure this we would need Congress to fund an army of compliance employees for the FTC, which simply won't happen while our national attention is on barely legal wars, destructive oil drilling, keeping the banks rewarded for throwing families from their homes, shoehorning the word ''God'' into matters God himself could never care about, and the shopping habits of the Kardashians.
These calls are coming from our old friends Pacific Telecom Communications Group (this comes from 800notes.com). Pacific makes its money by facilitating spoofed phone calls from overseas on behalf of American telemarketers. Why has the Federal Government has not been able to get a grip on this operation and put it out of existence? I would suspect that Pacific has many friends in high places all over the United States, and the world.
Caller ID is one of the best tools, if not the best tool, to alert a person to a bogus phone call. If you see a name or number that you don't recognize, or that makes no sense, don't answer the call. Simple.
What to do if the creeps leave a message on your answering machine? Take down the information, and report it to the FCC/DNC. Under no circumstances should you call back any number from such a source!
This message said it was from the FBI and they want to put in a free home security system at no charge to us. ????? Big Brother?
Computer generated call. No voice contact. I'm sure they will harass again. I wish the government could do something about these telemarketers. It would be good if they could be charged, prosecuted and given time in prison.
Who is this?
Security promotions, many request for them to stop calling and they keep calling.
Don't get irate just faxulate them with a faxulator from faxulator.com
Another robo call for a "free" GE home security system from "Security Solutions."
I'm sure this is the same caller whose Caller ID is Florida, New York, etc. Probaly "Credit Services" but I don't know because I don't answer such calls and they don't leave messages.
253-382-9923
Just another home security SCAM
According to Spokeo.com, This phone number is flagged as a telemarketer
Caller ID is Washington. Pacific Telecom Communications Group, 12228 Venice Blvd. Suite 559, Los Angeles, CA 90066 aApublic utility who's business involves facilitating illegal telemarketing calls in violation of 16 C.F.R. ยง310.3(b) of the Federal Telemarketing Sales Rule.
They call daily but I hang up before speaking as I know they are hiding true name and I do not want to even say one word to them or hear one from them; you would think they would give up but it seems that it nothing deters stupid efforts on their part.
