Caller ID says AACC, a debt collector, etc. Google it. When I asked who was calling, the caller hung up. *69 does not work to call back. Line was busy when I called back. Call is attempt by credit agency to reach a certain person whom I never knew, who may or may not be a real person. When I Googled AACC I found:
Asset Acceptance Capital Corporation
Nathaniel F. (Brad) Bradley IV
Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer
Company Headquarters
28405 Van Dyke Avenue
Warren, Michigan 48093
Telephone: (586) 939.9600
joined the Company in 1979 as a collector.
Get calls every day or so from AACC 248-20-8709. I do not answer and no message is ever left. My number is unlisted and it is on the Do Not Call List, but I still get calls from that number.
Blocked the scum suckers! Love this new VOIP technology.
AACC 248-220-8709 has been calling to my house bothering my family for no reason,I think that is time for a legal deal and file for harrasment if they call one more time.
Called at 8:52am on 10/8 - left no msg.
Call my number looking for someone else I never heard of, debt collectors, never give up
Rang to VM, but No message.
This is a bona fide collection company. However, they OFTEN get the incorrect name associated with a phone number. We get calls periodically from them for an individual who had previously lived at our address but did not have our number. We know who he is b/c he lived in the house next door when we bought our house. I have called these people before to tell them that the person they are looking for does not live at this number, has never had this number and has not lived at the address currently associated with this number in at least 10 years. They made a note on the account, but it did not seem to make a difference as I received a call again a couple of days ago.
hey now hey now what ya gonna say now jlo accaunt

They keep calling our number and we have no debt.......who lets these loonies stay in business? They are rude and annoying and con't get a clue.
No message left, but judging from the messages here, I'm glad I didn't answer.
Got a call from 248-220-8709 and they did not leave a message. So not sure who they wanted or what they wanted. Will not call them back because if it was not important enough for them to leave a message it is not worth my time and effort to call them back. Everything I have found on them seems like they are a shady and unethical company and would not deal with them regardless of what they said.Would like to block their number or transfer it to some other collection agency so they can see how annoying they are.

(248) 220 0879 called me this morning on a charged off account 15-18 yrs old thats RIGHT! FROM 15-18 YEARS OLD A ITT FINANCIAL ACCOUNT- This financial institution lost there license in CA years ago for their ILLEGAL Collection Tactics..I advised caller he/they has no legal recourse account is 18yrs old and stop calling me.
These people called looking for someone named Yasina? I guess Yasina didn't pay her/his bill!
Collection agency. Asked for someone who didn't live here, and was polite about it when I told them it was a wrong number. I'll comment here again if they call again, of course.
This number has been calling my home phone number for over 5 years looking for someone by the name of Kirk Paeltz, not sure of the spelling. Apparently, the number I received when I moved used to belong to this person. I've had multiple run-ins with this organization to alert them that they have the wrong number and requesting that they remove my phone number from there database as it has been mine for over 5 years. I refuse to change my number because of the enormous effort and hassle it would bring. I just do not respond to their outrageous messages and/or calls anymore.
Called customer service on the company website, thinking that speaking to a person that doesn't sit on a phone bank all day might work.
No such luck. They wanted my phone number to check and I stated that I wanted to deal with all this mess in writing. They wouldn't provide a mailing address.
This is only the 6th time they've called me, but I can tell I'm gonna "suffer" until that company really removes my number. I'm afraid that changing the number won't help.
Their call just woke up my sick wife from a much-needed nap. I checked Caller ID and told her not to answer, but she had already awakened.
I am going to look for a device that can be programmed by me to disconnect these calls. Something I can pay for once -- not the monthly charge for Call Block from the phone company. It would be nice if it could be set to supress rings until the CID signal was identified. I'd set it to block ALL "unknown" numbers.
These MFer's are never going to receive one red cent!!!
Recorded message
Meant to add that we have NO clue or idea just who Ebony Nelson is & furthermore we don't know a Ebony Nelson. This is most annoying!!!
This happened last year also. Thought we had gotten rid of this. Someone from AACC keeps asking for Ebony Nelson & that by continuing to listen we acknowledge..............We do not listen to the rest as we hang up. If we don't answer, a message is left on the answering machine to delete the message. A lot of good that does when they keep calling. We have reported them & will continue to do so. NOW it is happening again. Always asking for Ebony Nelson. Grrrrrrrr.
they call once a week & do not leave a message. googled the number & found out they were a collection agency, so i panicked thinking i'd become the victim of identity theft, because i don't have any debt. thankfully, i checked my credit report & it's clear, so i have no idea why these people are calling my number. so very annoying - & very disturbing when you find out how they have a habit of harassing innocent people.
One call looking for someone who is not here.
Are they using Robocall?
Can they be prosecuted? We are on a do not call list
Asset Acceptance Corp - apparently they buy VERY old and possibly dubious accounts with a low probability of collection. They have been calling me about a wireless account that was closed and taken care of in 1994. A few years ago (2004?), I sent them all of the documentation showing that the account had been satisfied in full... never got ANY acknowledgement from them that they got the info; it never stopped them from mailing/calling regularly. Apparently they don't follow the normal rules of engagement for creditors; the tactic now seems to be to make robocalls constantly and hope that a few of their victims are willing to pay them to go away.
Been getting calls from them for over a year.
First contact they said I owed a debt (It was over 13 yrs old) and I needed to pay it.,
I told them, I'm sorry, but....I don't think you can collect on that anymore, and I am just not going to pay it.
They hung up and that's when I did some online research and found out about these type of collectors.
The next time they called I told them "The statute iof limitations has run out on this dept and don't call here again" But she had hung up on me before I got it all out.
Now all I get is that same call we all get with the recording that if I continue to listen I am accknowledging I am that person (I have remarried so 'that' person no longer lives here anyway)
OK, so I have thier address
(Corporate Address:
Asset Acceptance Capital Corp.
P.O. Box 2036
Warren, MI 48090-2036
United States )
But I don't want to send them my name and address on a letter to ask them to stop calling.
Should I just put my former name and the ph number they are calling? Will this make it legal?
If these ppl are so bad why are they still in business????????
Maybe we should all call the 800 numbers constantly at all times of day and hang up on them.
If you have a debt that is over 7 years old, it is called "outlawed" and cannot be collected on as long as you don't allow contact. Once you initiate contact, they have you, your name and possibly your address. They will continue to actively attempt to collect the debt. While they can't sue you (even though they say they can), they will continue to harass you on the phone. The ideal situation is to change your phone number without leaving a forwarding number. If you are brave enough to want to listen to them, try to get as much information from them as you can without giving them any information. You can say you are going to send a payment, what's the address and then send a certified letter stating you want them to stop contacting you. Once that happens, if they continue to bother you, you can sue them in court for $1,000.00 per incident. Keep a very detailed log or preferably a recording that has a time stamp to prove they are continuing to bother you. Good luck!!
Called today. Read them a statement I received from Bud Hibbs. Hopefully it will stop this or I will sue. The are one of the worst bottom feeders of the so called Collection Agencies.
Called on my company cell phone.
They just started calling us. I will have to block it.
These MFs really don't have a clue the havoc they're causing. I have a lot of military "legal" connects, so fear not good citizens. I plan on up-channelling this to the appropriate authorities. I protected my fellow Americans when I served for 22 years and I'm still here to protect. Saw my fair share of battle and this is nothing different. The old sarge ain't dead yet! Sleep well America...I'm STILL at the watch!
My mother had to leave so I came over to house sit. I didn't check the number before I answered. When I answered, I heard the end of a recording. It was a female voice stating that by staying on the phone, I agree that I am..some name.. The recording only ran once, but the number given for a callback is 800-832-8587.
This worries me. My father died at the beginning of the year. I think my mother has a lawyer but I'm not positive. Since my dad's death, my mother is getting calls like this...another one was from his old city--asking about buying a funeral plot or something.. I guess I better tell my mom to get a credit watch plan like lifelock.
Call also seemed to block my ability to hang up, which has to be illegal.
This company keeps calling and asking for Angela or Michael Christopherson. I am not sure if that is the right spelling of the names because I do not know these people. I called back and told them that but they still call. Today they have called 4 times and it is not even 3:00 p.m. I will not answer and I will turn off my answering machine.
They have called mulitple times a day and continues to call. I am not picking up the phone.
I called the number back and got a hold of someone I when asked what I wanted I told them I was just trying to figure out who was calling my cell phone. He asked me for my phone number and I told him I was not going to give it to him. I told him I didn't owe his company any type of debt, he continued to ask for my number so he could check his records, I then again told him no. I told him if I continued to get phone calls I would file a complaint against them. He then became rude and hung up on me.
Never heard of AACC, they leave no msg. I do not pick up when calls come thru I just wait for the msg, no msg no pick up. I did not solicit them, and if they have any business with me they better sent it by slow mail otherwise they're out of luck!
yep this number pops up leaves messages for someone I don't know
This company does not even have the smarts to try sending mail to the people they are looking for on the phone. Where do they get their information and why bother others who don't even know who they are looking for!!
They just called twice and you know what I did? Turned off the answering machine! What a bunch of malarky! Collecting on things that are past 7 years? I don't think so!
asking for stanley I told them if they want to talk to him they can dig him at the cemetary..considering legal action against them
Msg cut off at the beginning. Collection Co. AACC, can't help them right now. Probably like others, recorded.
some person named Ms. James from AAC keeps calling and calling for someone we dont know ,leaving a message of the dates they called, also saying must be right number if we are listening to the message??? Come on like we have a choice but to listen to any message thats recorded ...then DELETE it if it's of unimportance! Is that not why people have answering machine ... to screen calls of unimportance and then again to receive calls of IMPORTANCE when you are out?
Recorded message calling asking for someone about a debt. Couldn't understand name. Scammers!
Same AssHoles from AACC calling my house again and they don't realize that I am not going to pick up the danm phoneplus I am going to block'em with my own new technologie. Sorry Ass .
AACC 248 220-8709 so called debt collectors calling for CCard charge offs (usually past 2 yr statute of limitations), number cannot be blocked unless using VoIP, As loong as no property was ever secured by them or the CCard co., and 2 yr SOL passes, they're out of luck, to stop their calls send them do not contact letter, etc.
