I am so sick of these calls they call you after 7pm not just that they called twice I will not answer if I do not know the number then I will not answer it. Is there a way to get rid of these annoying calls I hate them.

Did not answer but a message was left. Recorded message from Senator DeMint. Hung after the first sentence.

We do not answer unrecognized name or numbers. This was on the caller ID-Teletown Hall 240-696-7345. Our phone rang 10 times on BOTH calls.May 20,2009 at 5:48 and 6:01 pm. Two calls with-in 13 minutes is harrassment.

Called and said Colonel Henry, Peggy, Tim, Phranque(what kind of queer name is that?), and Melinda were all part of a vast left wing conspiracy aimed at Hard-working Americans with a spine! Apparently, they are conspiring to pay higher taxes, open their homes up to human debris, and just run crying to the corner every time someone says booo! I don't know why they are wasting taxpayer money to tell me something that's common knowledge! That's just par!

I receive this call all the time. I think The National Do Not Call List is actually a number bank, that all the people that you do not want calling you can get your number- TO CALL YOU ! We all could have spent our time doing something more productive then signing up for this national joke. And for those who say that there are some exceptions as to who can and those who cannot call, I say it's your phone, you pay the bill and you should have the right as to who you want calling you. After all politicians do not have the right to just enter your home or reach and grab your cell phone and use it, what gives them or anyone else to just consistently call your number when you are footing the bill?

Evidence from other reports is that this is a political call. Main utilization is
by the Republican party. The goal is not to survey or poll, but to convince
someone to vote for a particular candidate. Whether by Republicans or Democrats, we want to opt out of these calls.
We don't like false surveys or false polls.

Calls are from a multi-use line employed by politicians and others to solicite votes and take polls. Our calls come from Wyoming Senator John Barrasso and are pre-recorded. The line is a land-line and based in Maryland. If you have Selective Call-Blocking with your phone service, then this call can be blocked.

I didn't answer the phone in time. They didn't leave a message on answering machine. I called the number back to see who had called me and the gentlemen stated that he had not called me at all. I explained that his number was on my caller ID and it belonged to someone on Washington, MD. He again stated he did not call me. He had reported the problem to the phone company but they have been unable to help him since he can't prove how someone is using his number that shows up on the caller ID. He sounded like a very nice senior citizen who is really troubled by the use of his number and doesn't know what to do about it being used without his consent. Perhaps someone is using this new device that allows you to put whatever you want for an ID so the person you are calling doesn't know who is really calling....I just want these types of calls to stop.

"Unknown name" turned out to be Senator filling unexpired term, running for "re-" election with offer of joining a conference call. The "recorded message only" would have turned into an option to join a live conference call, probably with potential of posing questions. As adamantly against recorded calls as I am -- this seems to be a reasonable way of doing things.

Received call from this number, it was automated call from REP Chris Shays telling us we were invited to participate in a town hall meeting. Gave us NO Date, Time, etc.

Political call from US Rep Melissa Bean. Claimed to be "sorry she missed me" at a town hall meeting ConCall. She should be glad I wasn't on it! Using phone spam to try to round up participants for a town meeting requires a higher level of cluelessness achieved only by local politicians such as Ms. Bean.

Call came at 18:05 hours on Wednesday, 3-5-08.
