As for the group on this page, it would be a good idea to let your fundraiser know we are out here and now you know that we are looking at them too. I would not let them misrepresent because the first time they do and we catch them, it's all over with but the crying.

I am only going to tell you this one time. Don't you dare come out here on to this or any other board and try to say you are trying to help fallen police officers. You are not trying to help anyone but yourselves. You think I am going to let you talk to these people who are trying to protect themselves from you in that condescending manner. Let me see if I can explain this to your two week on the job backside. Officer Down Foundation's program is to teach Crisis Chaplaincy to Chaplains, it is not to provide benefits to the families of officers killed, they only pitch that because their real program would not get them one single donation, and every time you say they are providing benefits to families of officers killed it is a lie and a misrepresentation and is potentially criminally actionable against you personally as well as your bosses David Fair, Paul Kutac, Phil Leconte and David Deriks.

I will bet you did not know that those are the same group of guys that run the Police Protective Fund and American Association of Police Officers and the Junior Police Academy. These men are so honest and hard working that even after several states sued the pants off of them they had to go out and start another identical fake charity. Remember "Operation False Charity"? Yeah, wow, they were part of it, and now look at who has come to defend them and their new carbon copy of the Multi State proven fraud the Police Protective Fund and by extension The Crisis Chaplin Project.

You, a person that I already know has maybe 2 weeks experience on the phone. I am going to offer you some sage advice from one of your elders in what is left of that industry. GET A NEW JOB! This one is about to disappear.

Now, you have called into 6 of my 50 states and misrepresented yourselves, Maryland, Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, Tennessee and North Carolina and that is a problem for your organization because that is where my organization is located and our mission is to protect charitable dollars specifically raised in the name of Officers Killed in the Line of Duty. Now let me tell you what my organization does. We search out and report fraudulent Police Fire Veteran's and Children's Charities and their professional fundraisers. We protect the money of the people who protect us.

If anyone reading this wants to help with a donation for us to keep going after these scams, feel free to email me and lets talk. revjames@pfcl.org And unlike David Fair attempting to claim 501 c3 status before it is granted, Churches, like the Holy Land Spiritual Church in the United States are granted automatic 501 c3 status so you know you can deduct your donation from your taxes when the law allows.

We also recruit former professional police fundraisers as volunteers to help us go after groups like yours and you would be welcome to join us as well. And we always want to hear any tips on fraudulent activity in public safety charities so we can report them too. The days of diverting money from non profits and charities that really give their money to the families of officers killed in the line of duty, are OVER!

What a coincidence that would be huh? A church and a Minster going after a Chaplain, I would say God called one of us and the other has a big problem not just on earth, but after life too.

Do you know how much easier our job would be if your Officer Down Foundation did not exist?

I am not the kind of minister you are probably familiar with that gets up on Sunday morning to preach about Fire and Brimstone. I am the kind of minister that BRINGS Fire and Brimstone to your doorstep.

See the problem for your organization is that because of your fraudulent activity, you are making us expend our donor’s money to investigate you because you see, that is what OUR donors (Holy Land Spiritual Church) gave their money too and they knew full well that they were giving their money for us to go after groups like yours.

That would be the exact opposite of your group where the donor’s think they are giving to the families of officers killed in the line of duty but what you dont tell them is that the money they donate is really going to David Fair's personal mission of this "Crisis Chaplain" concept.

Well if you did not know we existed before I am not surprised, they never tell you phone jockey's anything, but you are about to know we exist now.

It is our duty and responsibility to protect our donor’s money and the only way for us to do that in the case of the Officer Down Foundation is for them to shut down voluntarily or we must sue the pants off of your group until you are ended. Oh and that is not all you have to look forward too, in North Carolina where you are calling, what you are doing is considered to be a class H felony.

no message just noise

No one answered Very annoying.

This number keeps coming up on my caller id, every day! They call and ask for the wrong people..I keep saying they don't live here and then I hang out. Today I'm half asleep and they call again! I say you have the wrong number but you keep calling my house. He says to me well see you said your house, well DUH I live here don't I. It's so annoying to then google and to see this page. I think we are all being hararrsed so how can we stop it???

i answered the phone and said hello.....no response within a second or two.....when that happens, i always hang up......i dont have caller id so used *69 to give me the number and this site says it was mdcop. unsure what that is or who it is - was concerned cuz daughter is out until later on business and i became worried until i read these responses abt this call being one that asks for money so thx folks for easing my mind and me not having to place a worried mom call to dear daughter!

Received call at 9:11 am on a Sunday! No response when I answered...unbelievable.

Most calls from this number are hangups, but this morning someone actually answered. Called asking for donations to help Maryland police buy tools to track down missing children. Sounds like a scam to me.

Answer and try to keep these people on the phone for as long as you can so they can't scam as many people. Ask all kinds of questions. Act like you are interested. Just stop short of giving out any personal information.

they just called me asking for donations. i told him i couldnt contribute this week so he said he would send out something in the mail that needed to be returned in 2 weeks, he then put his supervisor on the phone who asked for my credit card info, i then declined.

has been calling consistently for the last month, maybe.... This is the first night I've been home and decided not to answer. .. of course, no message. .. Like someone else said, if it WAS important, they would leave a message. No message left. .. NOT important!!

Has Called every day for the past week and has yet to leave a message

They have called several times. This time at 8:40am. I answered and they told me they were requesting donations to help abused, troubled, and kidnapped kids. Wanted $35, $45, or $55 donation and my visa number. I requested they mail the info to me. I was not going to give that info over the phone. Based on others comment's, I'm glad I didn't give it to them over the phone. I will find out if this is a scam when I get the info in the mail.

Asked to be removed from calling list, was told since the organization was non-profit they did not have to follow federal regulations for telemarketing. I then sent a fairly nasty email to the President of the Maryland Chief of Police -Bernadette DiPino -bdipino@ococean.com. Asking to be added to a do not call list. I haven't heard back as yet - will keep you posted. I feel the job of the police is to protect the citizens not harass us with unwanted home or cell phone solicitations.

Scam - Just an updated "Police Protection Fund". I figure they hope someone will answer thinking that a relative may be in trouble with the law or has been involved in an accident. Bottom Feeder! I answered yesterday, no one there. Tonight, I just let it ring. I place all these calls on a list beside the telephone and do not answer any of them. If it is important, they WILL leave a message is how I look at it. If they do not leave a message, off to "WhoCalled.US I go!

I'm always very suspicious of these alleged police and firefighter solicitations. So many are scams. This one didn't leave a message.

A man said he represented a police charity; asked if I would donate to the hardworking police; asked for my credit card number; said he was not a policeman because the police themselves cannot solicit for charity; I declined his solicitation.
This call occurred on August 6, 2009 at 8:08 pm.
The man sounded like an adult male with no accent. What a shame this has to go on!

Calls once a day, never leaves a message.

I called back but did'nt get the option to press #5 to opt out. They gave me a 1-800-379-5694 number and said to call from 9am-7pm est. if I was interested in helping. I just won't answer when they call. I never heard of the "Maryland Chief of Police Assoiciation" anyway.

My guess is that this is a telemarketer, pretty tricky to use the words 'MD COP'. My guess is that people will think it is a policeman calling and answer the phone. They left no msg.

Caller ID showed: MD COP. When I answered it there was just silence. I've had several of these calls in the past 2 months. I called the number back and got a recording saying it was American Chief of Police Association. After listening to their message I was able to chose to opt out of receiving these calls by pressing #5, which I did.

Saw this number 240-560-2625 on Caller ID missed call made at 6:29PM on 5 June. Caller ID says "Silver Sprin MD" (not enough characters for full Silver Spring?)

NO idea what this was, no message was left. First time I recall them calling.

Called after 9, but I missed the call. Empty voicemail message. MD COP on the caller id.

I picked up the phone and said hello, but no one answered. I hung up.

Dustin something called me with this number, like DCS said, its a phony law enforcement support organization; do not answer it.

I received a call from the same person, same phone number this evening. No message.

Calls but won't leave a message. Likely one of many scam outfits trying to raise money for phony law enforcement support organizations.
