Sounded like a real person - promoting the film Velveteen Rabbit - offered certificates for DVDs in the amount equal to ticket price opening weekend.
Luckily only one call, but on my cell phone. Unfortunately, my donotcall registration had expired, so I can't get them there. I will be following Jeff's advice and calling AT&T though.
I have received calls from caller ID of Velveteenmov for the past few days. I have not answered the phone and they leave no message on answering machine.
Got this on my cell phone.
Did not know the # so I didn't answer
After reading that Verizon filed siut against this company I call my provider ATT. I encourage everyone that is an ATT customer to call them and file a complaint about this (these) numbers. ATT's stance is that they need to have their customers log complaints against a said number before they can take action. They can't take action until a few of their customers call in and file complaints for harassing phone calls from this number. If you also received calls from the 917-210-4609 you need to mention that as well. They will mark your account and use your call information as examples if they file a suit in court or complaint with the FCC.
...now the calls are coming from 231-732-2067. Same message as before, but from a new #. It had been quite since 2/19 after receiveing about 6 calls from 917-210-4609 about this movie. I immediately filed complaints with the Do Not Call registry and have done so again today listing this "new" number. My wife is getting the calls as well on her cell phone. We both use ATT. I noticed that Verizon just sued this company on behalf of its customers. Here's the weblink, pcmag.com. I encourage everyone to call their wireless company and ask them to do the same.
Feature Films for Families has been harassing me. I have received untold numbers of calls from them from several different numbers. I am on the "do not call list", and I DO NOT have an existing business relationship with them. My suggestion to everyone receiving these calls is to NOT see the movie they are promoting. Every time they call with a new number, I block it on my caller ID - but is getting MORE than just annoying!
did not answer 3 others in office rcvd call on cell phone also in a 45 minute period
They've called 2 or 3 times. I haven't answered because I didn't recognize the number. It's getting annoying. They're calling while I'm asleep. Nice to know I don't need to answer it.
Did not answer
I did not recognize the number, therefore, did not answer.
something about a movie, I hung up after advising them not to call unsolicited on my cell
Talked about this new movie...sounded like a real person. FYI, Call was on my AT&T mobile.
He wanted to take 40 seconds to tell me about an exciting new movie that's coming out. My cell phone is company-issued, and I told him I couldn't participate in calls of this nature. He was not pushy. BTW---my cell phone is on DNC.
Found a link. Apparently they are promoting a movie: "The veveteen rabbit" by a company called "Feature Films For Families"

Didn't leave a message
Automated computer that sounds like a real person calls from this number to tell you about a "Rabbit" kids movie that is coming out and asks you to say yes to going to the movie... "DON'T DO IT" DON'T ANSWER THE CALL!!!! It will charge you $5.00 per min and also it will give them access to your cellphone number and or house number.
"See a Movie Promo" with DVD Credit for a future DVD purchase from same film company
Trying to get me to see the movie "Velveteen Rabbit", said they'd reimburse me for the cost of the tickets with a credit for buying DVDs. The caller mentioned Feature Films for Families, and turns out this is what they're doing:
