Who Called Us

we keep getting these calls in the evening. they are from nwrcenter.com. We are on the National No Calling List, but yet, they still keep calling us. How can I get them to stop??

Did not get answer at 616 #. Phone the 231-224-2031 number and got a recorded message saying to go to website. Filing a complaint for call being after 9PM local!!!

You've already done the most you can politely, which is to add your number to a firm's internal no-call list. Should the caller ignore this, send a cease-comm notice via USPS Certified with return card. File complaints with the FTC and attorneys general.

I called 616-361-0128 per one of the comments below and demanded they stop calling me every evening. The man answering asked the number that called, the number that was being called, and he said my number would be removed off their list. I also submitted a complaint thru the DoNotCall.gov registry since my number has been on the list for over a year. I will continue to submit a complaint every time they call until they stop. Supposedly they are penalized for each complaint. Who knows if true but worth a try!

231-224-2031 is Mountain West Research, a telemarketer masquerading as a pollster. Mountain West is owned by Lucre, Inc., 4011 Plainfield Ave., Grand Rapids Michigan, phone 616-361-0128. The owner of Lucre is Steven Hale. Call the 616 number and demand to be taken off Mountain West's call list. It worked for me.

I just moved last week & have already rec'd many calls from this number. They have called today 3 times within 2 hrs. I answered the second call to tell them to stop calling.......they called back 7 minutes later. If the answering machine picks up, they don't leave a message.

Research Center: "Hello?"

Me: "Will you take us of your calling list please? We are on the do-not-call-list."

Research Center: "But you don't even know what this call is about... ...OK."

Click, she hung up. Called on a Sunday afternoon at 2:30pm. Yup, the great American official nap time. I will report them to donotcall.gov. I hope y'all will do the same.

So annoying!!! I've been getting 4-5 calls from this number daily. Finally I answered and told the person to stop calling. She was polite and I hope the calls will stop.

Seeing the comment that MWRCenter left. If they are truly legitimate, then why is their "physical address" a box in the UPS store in Pocatello, Idaho.
According to the FCC: Any call placed to a cell phone is exempted from the exemption. Therefore calling my cell phone, DOES constitute a violation!

These people are up to more than wanting to take a survey! They called one evening asking my husband to take a political survey (no thanks)! Then they call the next day with a different story about taking a different survey. Since I was able to retrieve their phone number I just blocked them from calling again.

We get calls from this number daily. No one is there when you pick up the phone and they don't leave a message. We are on the Do Not Call list.

This number faxes me over and over and over. I tried to call them, I went to their web site (mwrcenter.com got the address by calling the number back), and can't get it stopped! I hate them and the horses they rode in on!!!!

I have received over 10 calls in two days with this number. Late at night also. I am sick of it.

i have gotten 231-224-2000 from a voter registration in fremont michigan they need to quit because i have no time to vote and i could careless about voting. there is never a human being on the line it is always a voicemail system and i am on the do not call list. this is the 2nd time i have rcecived this number on my caller. my number is private not for jerks calling and not leaving a msg on the machine that ticks me off. so they need to quit calling or i will make sure they loose their job for harassing me.

The phone company that is allowing this (these) callers to abuse the telephone system are the ones to blame.

I just respond to these types of calls "I can hardly understand what you are saying. Have you got some guy's duck in your mouth?"

These people are calling our number a couple times a day. Often call at dinner time. Last call was at 9:00pm. We retire early. DNC list is ineffective!

These people won't stop calling even though I've told them we are on the National Do Not Call Registry. They've called at 9:15 pm PDT on a Sunday night AND at 11:15 PDT on Sunday night. They claimed they are allowed to call up until 9:30 pm. They are definintely not allowed to call at 11:15 PM!!!

9/12/2010 - I want to be removed from this calling list! I am far from a people person & now they have me nervous to boot. These folks call me saying they are doing a politcal research survey and ask me my birth year & race then say thats all the questions we have for you today. What is that? How fishy does that sound? I've received 5 calls today (9/11/2010) from 231 224 2031. Three times I was unavailable or got dead air on answering. Twice the caller identified themselves as Oregon Opinion research (approx.) and I asked to be removed from their call list. And, obviously not calling from Oregon as (231) seems to be an Idaho area code.

They call every hour 10:17pm, 11:17pm, 12:17pm. My father is Mad!!

i have repeatedly asked (nicely) for this phone caller NOT to call my number.
for some reason this phone caller DOESN'T get it! AND now, it seems some of these calls are political in nature..HOW annoying. If I wanted to talk politics, I surely would not do it over the phone.

more than 35years in NJ without getting these ridiculous calls, and now in NV I get about 3 or 4 a day from a variety of UNKNOWNS and UNWANTED solicitations. Doesn't NV get it!! Too many reused numbers and too frequently people seem to put bogus numbers on their apps.

Called 4 times today, 8 times in the past two days. When my wife asked them to add us to the 'do not call' list, the operator said, "I understand. Is there someone else I can talk to?" That pissed her off.

To Kevin, who works for a public research opinion firm and who mentioned that "It's not that hard to be polite, folks": The issue is that they call so frequently, which interrupts our day each time. The irritation is aimed at the company. Sorry that the operator has to take the brunt of it, but that's the customer's connection at that moment to that company. One "we're not interested" should be enough for that company to not call again for awhile, much less a FEW HOURS LATER... and AGAIN the next day.

I have been res=ceing these harrassing phone calls as frequent as every 30-minutes at least 4-times today and again at 4:40pm. They called several times last evening, last call received at 8:35pm and several calls the day before on the 22 Juy. I have been reportin them and havebeen on the DO NOT CLL List since this phone service was installed. WHERE do they get the phone number and WHY???? WhaT can be done to end this harrassment and constant daily annoyance?

called asking to do a political survey, PASS. They can hand me a form to send in anonymously at the polling place but this could be anybody calling for all I know, no thank you. Half the time these companies don't say anything, sometimes they hang up....for the call center advocate that is preaching about how nice we should be to these people, why don't you tell them to be professional and respect the customers spoken wishes (and not call people after hours, because that would hack me off royally too) then people would not get angry. You shouldn't have to call somewhere else and give out your phone number to stop a different number from calling you, you should be able to ask the human being on the line to put a stop to it and be done with it. We have had people call us posing as these places just to try to get info to steal identities, so you have to understand where people are coming from who don't want random calls or to have to give their number to someone else.

These folks call daily, at least once, and some times more often. Today they have phoned at least 4 times. Yesterday at least 3 days. mwrcenter.com is the website on the phone when you call back. no other message.

I don't mind people calling to take a survey, but when they call several times a day with no answer that becomes VERY annoying. There should be a law that someone must be there to answer.

Received a call tonight from this place and they asked for me, but completely mutilated by last name, so I said I was sorry and they had reached a wrong number. They apologized and thanked me and then hung up. Hopefully that will end any other calls. I am sure it is some sorry ass political survey since that seems to be what all the surveys are about.

These guys are hired guns. They conduct surveys for a variety of clients.

If you did business with one of them (ie: Acura) then the do not call registry does not apply.

I have now gotten a call from this number two nights running at 10pm. It has woken me and my son up both nights. First night they asked for a ralph and I told them they have the wrong number and hung up. The second night they asked for the registered voter and I told them it is 10pm and to never call back again.....let's see if they do it tomorrow now. After I found all this info I decided to call the number back and it say montain west research center and if you have been asked to participate in one of our many surveys you participation would be......that's when I hung up and posted this. These call must stop. I have five different numbers calling me several times a day. Today, I am sick in bed with the flu and got over 15 calls from five diffent, stuip numbers. I finally turned off the ringer, hopefully, no legit person needed me. I, too, am on the DNC list.

Just call their Call Center and politely ask them to remove you from their list. They will add you to their Do Not Call List.

It is a Research Center and I agreed to answer their questions about politics. When I told him I was White, he said "That is all the questions I have for your group, Thank you Goodbye". He only asked if I was a registered voter and my ethnicity.

I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, but I work at a Public Opinion Research Firm also, and the reason they don't talk right away is becuase it hasnt gone through to there phone yet because it is on perdictive, to get more phone calls. you just have to wait for about 5 - 10seconds sometimes. If you want them to stop calling your number, then just ask them POLITELY to take your number off there list or out of there database, and they will do it. It is that easy, and you don't have to be a jerk about it either. Calling them rude names, screaming at them, swearing or anything of the sort won't do any help. All that does is make you look like a complete idiot & a jerk. I don't mean to be rude to you guys, but honestly it is not that hard to just simply be nice! If you call them rude and disrespectful, what does that make you when you are the one calling them names and screaming at them? Stop and think about what you are doing. *Also the National Do Not Call List does not apple to market research because it is only for TELEMARKETING calls and the government understands the importance of market research. If you do not want to participate in the survey, just say so politely and ask them to take you off of their list if you want. This caller calls themselfs CFM Research Center, but all my harassing telephone calls are either made by Victor Kuring a Qwest telephone technician or he gives my telephone number to others to call me. I notice that he only calls on weekend or after work hours so as not to get caught!

I called this number back and received an automated system about how it was my time to be heard. I was not offered an option to be removed from the calling list however I received a website address. mwrcenter.com I then got another phone number from the site: 208-232-1818, It matched the information below from P. Diidy so I followed the directions from P. Diddy below. Press 0. Ask them to take your number off the calling list. Jessie answered and was very polite and told me it was taken care of.

So, they can call you regardless of the DNC List. I just sent them an email to try to get on thier internal DNC List, so we shall see if they actually stop...

I got extremely tired of them calling and not speaking! When they called tonight I told them that in very loud, precise words!! She (I think it was a she??) then had the nerve to say something about a survey! I told her what she could do with her survey!! :-)

As with all junk calls: Answer your phone with something like: "this is Paul" or "Rock Realty" instead of "hello" and there will be a few seconds of silence if it's a solicitor. Just hang up.

I have been recieving calls for almost two weeks from this organization. They said they wanted to do a survey on types and brands of cement products we use. I explained the first time to these people that this information is proprietary and that my number was registered on the do not call list and to not call me anymore. I have filed three complaints since they keep calling. Now that I know Andrew Scheirs number and extension at the Western Mountain Research Co. he will be getting a call in morning and I have a little survey for him to answer! Received phone call from a male on 2008-10-17 @ 7:43 p.m. stating that he was conducting a survey on the upcoming '08 Presidential Election. I told him that due to religious reasons, neither do I vote nor get involved in politics of any sort. He told that that he understood and we both hung up the phone.

Called saying they were from Neilson Ratings. They say they do ratings for televsion shows. They want you to participate in a research about which television shows we watch during the day for 24 hours/3weeks. Not sure if they are legitimate. Probably are, but sad because we really don't know who really is calling that may be a scam artists. Like a fool I gave them our home address. Hopefully they are for real. If not, I will report back.

Answered. Wanted male head of household. They asked a long list of political questions. Apart from the length of the call and some difficulty understanding the questioner through her accent, they were not a nuissance. They sounded like a legit opinion poll inquiring about preferences for potential presidential candidates and issues. I would not like to devote that aqmount of time very often. But, now that I've gone to the Internet, I am wondering whether I should have answered.

Why does this number KEEP calling? They won't leave a message, it's maddening. And we are on the DNC list.

Receive several calls a day from these jerks. I finally answered and a male asks for the head of the household. I told him that I was on the DNC registry and I want them to stop calling my number. He tells me that the DNC registry doesn't apply to his company.

I called Jared Schiers the company Director at 208-232-1818 extension 7600 and asked why his company has called me 7 tonight. I threatened to file a complaint if they do not stop immediately. He said he would add my number to their internal do not call list. He did not sound pleased to hear from me, but the calls stopped soon after.

I started recieving these calls to my phones, when i spent time requesting removal of my numbers from
Anywho, Switchboard.com, Whitepages.com, Reverse Phone Directory, Phonenumber.com, Smartpages.com, Google, and MSN. until then I have not had an issue with solicitor callers. The telephone number 231-224-2031 left a message on my voicemail. "hello, hello" and hung up. I believe because I went to these sites to remove my numbers for privacy, it was just like responding to spam to remove, some are unethical and use your response to sell it as verified address. If you check with all those reverse look up services you will see, inconsistancies among the listing, as for my number I had address's associated with my name, that have never been, not to mention the dozen variations on my name.

Also, I have filed a complaint with the National DNC Registry. I also sent an email to my local Acura Service Manager regarding the issue asking him to follow up with Acura corporate. That may go no where, but it's worth a shot.

I've been receiving calls from the same number since I had my Acura serviced. I called Mountain West Research and left a voicemail for the first person in their phone directory. I also searched Google for more info on Andrew Shiers. I think I may have found his personal number - (208)317-3667. I just got his voicemail calling tonight, but I'll try again tomorrow. I say people call him at work and let's tell him how we feel about his annoying company. Maybe even the State Legislature in the state of Idaho, where they're based. Why not.

They asked for me by name when I picked up (I recently had some testing done, so I'm waiting for results). Still uncertain though, I said the person they were asking for wasn't home and if they would leave a message. They didn't. No idea who this number is.

This place is hunting me for Acura service. Continously calls.

Three calls in one night 7:28, 8:12, 8;28 - Caller ID says "Research Center." Finally talked to them and told them to stop calling because we are on state and national 'do not call' lists. Foreign sounding woman said it was some kind of survey but I wouldn't discuss it with her so don't know what it was about. They said they would remove me from their list.

Got a call from a suspicious Caller ID. I used a supremely creepy voice to say "Hello" over and over. They hung up.

I logged on to this web site and found the Mountain West Research. I called the number that was listed on the site (208.232.1818) and asked them to remove my number.

1. Register your House & Cell numbers at the Government Do not call list
2. Wait 31 days and report the number.

Several calls over 4 days. Three calls anwered each a different person. On one day when call was not answered there were three repeated calls. they were doing a survey on the state of the country and then asked for a year of birth

Please stop calling or I will never buy another Acura

They call at least 4 times a day, for over 2 weeks now. All times of the day, including 8:30AM on Sunday.

I've been getting these calls since 20 days now. After going thru this site, i see extent of this annoyance. Maybe all of us should go to donotcall.gov and file a complaint. I just did one and will do it for every time i get a call from that number.

Maybe that will do something about this nuisance.

Called twice today, "Research Center". Did not leave a message on my machine either time. I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST...how does this happen??

I also startin getting these annoying voice and text messages on my cell.

I also went to mwrcenter.com and emailed them to leave me alone.

I think from this point on, everytime I have to fill out some online form I am going to start using the following:

I got this call today. It came up as Research Center. I went to the website listed on here and this is what it says...

If for some reason you wish not to participate in a survey simply state your desires and you will not be contacted concerning that research issue again. Since your opinions and experiences are of such a high value we will respect your requests. We keep an internal list of households that do not wish to be contacted concerning any research matter regardless of the topic. If you wish to have your name added to this list simply email your household’s telephone number to contact@mwrcenter.com. This internal list is not affiliated with the federal Do Not Call list. Since we are not telemarketing (selling products via the telephone) we do not fall under the governance of the Do Not Call list.

So... I will send them an email today and hope it works. I just did this with another research company the other day, now this one. I wonder how they got my number?

Is there anyway to report these peoples? when you told them do not call there would be another call from another number but from same research center who asking to speak to the head of the household

These people are very persistant. They are rude and contimue to call at odd hours and do not leave a message. They do not follow the 'Do Not Call' laws.

Have received several calls from this number - no caller ID name just the number shows. I NEVER answer calls from numbers I don't recognize

Started at 4:30pm last call was 8:30pm. *69 (231)
224 2031, No answer. Reported to phone company AT&T. Big problem when your paying for private a number.

Started calling me yesterday. I answered the first time. The voice said it was from RSA. I hung up because I don't know the company. They kept calling me the whole weekend for 5 times. Very annoying. Answered today again with a language other than English, they hung up after 10 seconds.

Machine picked up and no message was left.

Calls me 2-3 times a day. I work online, and have dialup, sometimes it knocks me offline. I don't answer if I don't know caller, if it's important they can leave message. This place never does.
I'm on do not call list. Someone make them STOP!Do people who call (or their dialing machines, or whatever) think if they call enough someone will answer and be happy to talk to them?

My wife answered phone. They asked for me. I wasn' there. They did not leave a message. Caller ID says Research Center

Five days ago, I took my Acura in for service and I got my first call tonight. Acura used to do this by e-mail. It was smarter. And if this phone number really goes to JD Power, they have no hope of getting their own award.

They call over & over and I don't answer...no message is ever left.

Called me like ten times a day. Nobody talks to you when you pick up the phone. Really annoying. Caller ID showed "Research Center". No idea what a center it is.

THIS NON PROFFESIONAL CO. KEEPS CALLING. EVEN ASKED FOR SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T EVEN RESIDE HERE. A FEMALE PERSON WITH NO PROFFESIONAL GUEST SKILLS.

This number called me twice today; the first time they hung up on my voicemail and the 2nd I answered. They said they were an Acura Survey (I just recently brought my car in) and they asked for me by name. I told them I don't want to do and survey and please take me off the list. We'll see what happens.

as of 4/23/07. It may be a research cneter that handles multiple companie's research. If you call, you get a message telling you they are sorry they missed you and they will be calling back. When they do, they will get the "star sign" on my phone in their ear. I am also on the DNC registry and was not the person who took the car in for service. Companies that take up my time may be billed for my hourly rate. I wonder how that would sit.

The number was for Acura Customer satisfaction survey..

They have called me 5 days in a row, I won't answer because I don't recognize the number. Thank you for the advice to call and file a complaint with donotcall.gov - I did it and hope it works

If you are registered with the donotcall.gov you can go there and register a complaint. They have now disturbed me three times.

I just got a call from them asking me if they could speak to the youngest male in the home. I told him that that the youngest male had just finished his bottle and was currently sleeping in his crib for the night. And if they wanted to talk to him they'd have to wait until morning, hehe. He hung up on me.

One of the comments mentioned that the number that is calling is 231-224-2041 but thid comment page is for 231-224-2031???? I have also gotten a call from this number every day for the past week but never answered.

Rec'd 5 calls in 3 days all between 7:00 and 8:30 pm. I tried to answer to tell them to stop but nobody ever answers! Probably auto dialing.

I did not answer, they left no message. The caller tried again a couple times, same result.

NOTE that this web page shows 231-224-2031, but the number is 2041.

Called again at 7:46 pm after having called at 3:57pm the same day, March 4. I answered this time but got no response. Sure wish there was some way to lock their lines up. I REALLY hate those companies that do that.

I have been receiving calls from this number for the past week. I have no idea who they are since I do not know anyone in Michigan. I wish they would stop!

Thay cal two three times a week, Caller ID says RESEARCH CENTER" I don't answer. someone should sell a device that puts out an ear peircing tone on the phone for people like this.

Called my house for a week_ask me if I had contacted my mortgage Company on a certain date_when I said yes_The hung up on me_That part is bad because know I don't know if it is a rip off or not!

received call 2/15, 2/16, 2/17 and 2/18. No one on line when I answer - just dead air. We are on state and national no-call list, so why are they calling???

They called me, I bet it's Google selling my cell number.

Answered the phone and was greeted by someone doing a survey for JD Power & Assc. Asked if I was the person in the house most familiar with the electric bill, and I replied that I'd just moved in, so no I wasn't. I added, "Can I ask how you got this number? It's a cellphone." Then they hung up.

Called our company in February, 2007, asked to speak to someone in out tech dept. When asked for purpose, said conducting a survey. Refused to give his name and company name. Didn't sound professional, such as a trained survey person, more like a personal call.

This is from Evans & McDonough Reseach. They wanted to know about health and weight. If you are of normal weight, they don't want to talk to you. They have called me 3 times in 2 days always during the dinner hour.

I keep getting a call from this number about every 3 days or so. Will they ever stop.

Called my house 4 times so far in ONE day.

Called my office 1/22/07 at 6:50pm ET, and again 1/23/07 at 11:20am ET. Did not answer. With second call, 5 sec of someone on the line, not saying anything. Sounded like a call center though.

I finally pressed *69 on my phone. I get a call almost everyday from someone that does not say anything. I do not have caller ID. They called on 1/22/07 at 5:50. I hate these people!!

Called Thurs, Jan 11 -evening. Caller ID says "Research Center"

I didn't pick up - but a guy on the end thought someone did and engaged in a short conversation with my answering machine. Asked for the "Head of household".

call came to us on Weds. Jan. 10th at 8:40pm, i answered it, heard something weird in the background and did the call return service on my phone.
