Who Called Us

I didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number. I sent them to voicemail and looked up the area code and found this website. Tried to call it from my office phone and the call would not go through. They called my cell twice so far.

They call for someone else, but don't seem to understand what "You got the wrong number" means. Probably all that out sourcing - these foreign idiots don't know English.

Called for me left a message saying they are chase bank and to call them back to have a financial adviser assist in the matter. I know i'm behind on my card and tried to submit it for debt management so i believe thi sis why they called.

only few close family and friends know my cell phone...not sure why this number called me. i didn't answer but caller id showed this number.

These are both the same people...2239872400 and 2500. Same people, same thing. You can't call them back because their number does not recieve calls. Constantly call but never leave a message. It doesn't matter what day or time they call.

Calls repeatedly it seems like 24 hours. Have been called at 2am anytime during the day and 10pm, 11pm...

I'm getting 10 calls peer day from 223-987-2500 and 223-987-2400. Calling back I get "your call cannot be completed as dialed. Prease hang up and try again." Driving me crazy.

These folks are now also dialing in from 800-424-5004. They say that they're from Chase. I say no f#@*%ing way. I now have to change my number because they will never cease!

I have been receiving calls from this number every hour for the last two days. The caller ID says Ohio Call. Thye ae getting past my privacy manager feature, which will not put through any caller that does not identify themselves.

Suddenly receiving numereous calls on a Cingular Cell from: 2239872400, 2239872500, "New Call" with no number, and 0118004245004. We answered once or twice with no response. Now we do not answer. Maybe a dozen or nore the last few days.

Caller from this number (Indian accent) left a message on my machine (seemed to think someone had picked up) asking for me. Caller ID said 'Ohio Call.' I searched online for the area code and it is listed on some kind of hacker site as a 'loop line' area code, which, according to the anarchist's cookbook, the phone company uses to test equipment. Can't say I really understand what's going on -- but seems like this is a scam of some sort using the 'fake' loop line number to shield the origin of the call.

I think they are just telemarketers trying to find out what time someone will answer and they sell that information to others so other telemarketers know what is the best time to call and get someone. We never answer out-of-area calls, unknown name calls, etc.

In the past three days I have received 11 calls on my cell phone from this number. I have not answered since I did not know the number or the area code. The caller ID just lists the phone number, except in three instances it was listed as Unavailalbe #. They do not leave a message or anything. This number calls as early as 8:00 am and as late as 6:00 pm.

They called me 7 times today ranging from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM CST nobody there each time. Calls from 1-223-987-2400 - From what I've read Chase bank???
I've never had an account with them and now I will make sure I never do.

I got a call from this number twice in one morning, while I as asleep: Once at 8:28am and again at 9:03am.

I decided to search for the number because when I put it in to see where it was from, my phone didn't list a state where the area code was assigned.

There was no voice mail left for either call.

Been calling me every day for a week. At least 4 times a day. Very, very aggrivating.

This number calls day and night seven days a week no answer and when I let the machine take it, they hang up. It wont stop.

I have talked with chase bank they said those number was not theres but I also no those numbers are private numbers. Thats why you can't get any information on them. I had one call from them about 2 hours ago. Not very happy :(

I have received at least 3-4 calls today from this number. It says "out of area" on caller ID. When I try to call it back, it starts ringing before I can finish dialing the number, then says this call cannot be completed.

I receive phone calls 30 minutes apart all day long...from two different numbers 223-987-2500 and 223-987-2400...When number is called back the recording says not accepting incoming calls...

have been receiving about 10 of these calls per day for days now. they verified thay are Chase Bank and knew of this number. They said to call 1-888-800-6415 to get calls to end. We are not now or have we ever been a Chase customer. We have had the same phone number for 30 years so we didn't get a number that formally belonged to a chase customer.

I have had both of theses number 223-987-2400 and 223-987-2500 Call I called Chase Credit Card service and ask to speak with a manager he really wanted me to tell my account I told him I wouldn't give out that information till I spoke with a manager. Well They put me on hold for a long time so I just hung up. I have not received a call from either numbers yet.

Call comes up as OUT OF AREA, it is a scheme...."your credit is in jeopardy, etc, we have your chase bank account info in front of us and if you will just verify the info we have, we will pay this outstanding bill (sometimes 23 dollars, 77 dollars, or 200 odd dollars, the amount varies) and your good credit will be restored." From India but for a US company in Pallentine Illinois.....completely fraudulent. Don't fall for it, report to FTC.

I got a call from this number and also the same number but last 4 digits 2400.

I agree that it's not Chase trying to collect money. I do have a Chase cc account but i haven't ever missed a payment, so they would have no reason to call me 5 times a day. And what credit card company cares enough to save you from the late fees anyway? That's how they make money. Plus if they are trying to get money, they'd leave a message. All I get is background noise.

I honestly dont think this is chase at all. its too shady. They started asking my boyfriend for his bank account # to take the money out to pay his CC bill. i wouldnt doubt if they were just trying to steal peoples account Numbers. Been calling my cell for the past 3 weeks. LI, NY.

it is Chase Bank's collection agent my daughter owes them money, so they call us 10 time a month some lady how can't speak english

To contact Chase, simply call 1-800-654-9230. I don't understand why people get so mad at a company that 'lends' them hundreds of dollars, then when you miss a payment the company has the courtesy to try and contact you to see what's going on. to prevent you from getting late fees, and to prevent your credit score from damage. The people who get mad about this are idiots. If someone owed me hundreds or thousands of dollars, I'd be calling them a bunch too.

this is Chase bank's outbound credit card collections trying to contact a cardholder who's contact # is your phone number. If you do not own or have any affiliation with Chase, then your phone number was once used by a card holder, sometimes phone companies 'recycle' phone numbers.. If you are affiliated with Chase, pay your credit card bill to bring it current and they'll stop tryin to collect.

this number keeps appearing on my son's cell phone about ten times each day. when i call back, it says the call cannot be completed.

I received a call yesterday from unknown at 8:41 am. Then at 8:35 another call from NAME UNAVAILABLE. Both times asking for my husband. When I asked where they were calling from on Saturday, they said CHASE. Then this morning, when I asked who was calling, they continued to ask for my husband. I continued to ask who was calling and they hung up. At 9am this same morning, UNKNOWN called again asking for my husband, however this time they pronounced his first name wrong.

This number has just started calling me! 8am on a Sunday!

It's Chase wanting you to buy something

I have received 4 calls today. The last call was just 10 minutes ago, and it rang 15 times. In the past week, I have received calls as early as 8:00 a.m., to as late as 9 p.m. I refuse to answer the call, since I don't know who it is. If this is Chase, then they need to get their act together and quit annoying me with these calls

I have received multiple calls from both this number and 223-987-2400. A couple of times, I answered and the caller asked for "Betty". Unfortunately, answering my phone has resulted in them calling no less than 5 times per day for the past couple of weeks. I have also received numerous calls from "unavailable" during the same time period.

This person calls me incessantly. I try not to answer, but the times I've done so accidentally, all I hear is background static. Very annoying cell spammer.

It is Chase; they must have a collection center in India (they are willing to do jobs that most people here in America won't. They work graveyard shifts for the "honor" of working for an American company that pays them better). They do not leave a message because here in the US it is illegal for collectors to leave voicemails; it can be viewed as harrassment. Just ignore the call and use the number on your statement to clear up your account.

I googled the 2 numbers and found this site. I had no idea who it was untill reading this site. I called Chase, they said yes it was them because me account was overdue. I have been with Chase for years. I was late 1 month out of 5 years and this is thier customer service. I spoke with a manager and cancelled my cardservice. here is chase's number 1800-945-2000 call them and tell them to stop it

Yes, they KEEP calling me and today I finally called the number back and can't even get through! I have excellent credit so NO ONE is attempting to collect money from me.

i do have a credit card with chase bank, but these people never leave me a message (i make a point not to answer 'unavailable' calls on my cell, or those numbers that i do not recognize: i.e. the 2400 and 2500 numbers). - they call me about 4-7 times daily. usually early in the morning and then once or twice later in the evening. - is this really some sort of fraud? or does chase bank/having a chase credit card actually have something to do with it?

They called me 10/16 11:05 13:36; They let it ring three times and they hang up. Most likely if you hear dead air they gave up and moved to the next call.

Its an outbound call center, from the times reported by others its most likely collections. I am also recieving collection calls from chase.

Record the times they call you. If chase gives you a hard time saying "we called x times before" Ask them for the times (yes they do have each one recorded). If they match explain the problem: that someone called X times, you werent able to talk to someone due to dead air and disconnects. It probably wont matter but if this belongs to chase and they get feedback, they might change their contract. (uh, ya....right)...

I have this number on my caller ID very often no message is ever left on my voice mail and if we answer it no one is there when we pick up the phone

They keep calling and asking for "Ernest Furrow" who has also been getting mail sent here! We tell them we don't know who that is and they tell us maybe we misunderstood and start to spell it out and then argue with us that they have the right number! We've payed for a credit report b/c of this, but it seems they just have the wrong number and address - we don't know how that's possible.

I've only had my new phone number for about a month and have been getting these calls 2-3 times daily for the past 3 weeks.

Received a call from (223) 987 2500 today. After attempting to return the call I discovered that the area code is "not assigned" and found this site. If it is a collection agency from India as many here believe it is how do they display the bogus call back number? And more importantly how can I do that? ;)

Caller ID shows unknown, 223-987-2500, or 223-987-2400. I stopped answering after the 1st time. They never leave messages, just static and weird music. Call on average 3 - 4 times a day, very disruptive.

possible cause:
I did go online at a freebie site and filled out a Crhistian debt
repair form in order to get a free item. After that I am getting calls from all over the US.

Chase card been calling for daughter, over and over, after I interogated him for a long time asking questions, he volunteered to remove our number most happily. Now, calls again started after another chase call, not sure if these are related, we all need to call chase and complain and call Better business bureau. Make them take action.

My phonebook shows that 223 area code is AC for the tiny country of Belize, situated between Mexico and Guatamala on the Caribbean Sea. Go figure. Called me today and did not leave a message on voicemail. No caller ID...I dialed *69. Called me on Sunday, 10-8-06 at 12:34 PM in NC. Odd, cause yesterday I got a call from a collector in Reno, NV and we are not late on any debts and told them to get lost .Old debts have aged off past 7 years and no longer on credit reports, and sounded like crooks trying to collect anyway after buying account from a past crooked collector who knows the debt no longer exists. Credit Bureaus verified the account no longer exist. But wondering if the two calls are related ???

Received a phone call today from these guys. He had an accent. He was looking for me, but I acted like I wasn't phone and asked to take a message. He said this was about "personal business" and asked if I had a spouse and if he could talk to her. It just didn't feel right. Luckily, this is a VoIP line so I can block this number if it becomes a nuisance. The ID read "NAME UNAVAILABLE".

They've been calling about 5-8 times a day... Really annoying!! I haven't answered but I'm concerned why they keep calling. Its been going on for about 3 days. Any ideas who or why they're calling? Can we get them to stop??

Definately a fraud operation, they try to get you to give out your credit card #. They are pretending to be chase card services, however, chase card services would not ask me my card # because they ALREADY KNOW it. I called chase card services- they confirmed this is a phishing type of scam.

Call received at 8:39am on my cell phone while at work. Didn't answer. No voicemail left. Tried calling back from my work phone so it couldn't be traced back to me and got the error message "Remember, you now have to dial 1 plus the area code, or 0 and the area code before dialing any long distance or operator assisted calls." Was dialing one plus area code. Tried several times, same responce every time. Calling from my cell phone tells me the number is invalid and to check the number and try again. I have a card with Chase bank, so I suppose that makes sense. But don't have any outstanding balance with them or reason for any collection people to be calling. Obnoxious!

So far received 2 calls from this number within 8 hours, did not pick up. I blocked my ID and called the number back. It is not a valid US phone number.

I tried 1-800-654-9230 (compare to 1-800-432-3117, the number Chase gives for Customer Service) With some experimentation I discovered it requires a 13 digit account number. On the first attempt, I was put on hold "for an available representative" before being cut off. Typical hold music, but slightly glitchy voice playback. Could have been recorded from elsewhere. "If you feel your call has been cut off in error, please call again" announced a female recorded voice, before I heard the dial tone.

On second attempt, I pushed buttons at random until I was rerouted to a customer service representative whose Indian accent was not especially thick and who seemed to be well trained other than answering the phone simply with "Hello? Hello?" until I responded. Once I informed that I do not own a Chase credit card, he did not push me for any more personal information. With office noises in the background, everything seemed relatively legit. It's possible I was rerouted to a legitimate number after having entered "my account number" incorrectly so many times. I suspect this was a "man-in-the-middle" scam to collect account numbers before forwarding calls to Chase Cardmember Services.

Chase cardholders who receives calls from this number: instead use the phone number that comes with your billing statement.

That damn number has been calling me for over a week leaving no message. I try to call it back from the land line but no response.

I have a number that starts 315-223-9XXX, I get a dozon irrate people calling me asking why i called them a day. Its not me calling you, its some jackass with an autodailer, dont be offended if i tell you off becuase you are the 15th person to call me today....

#1, dont star 67 the number if your in the 315 areacode, it will just dial it localy, #2 pay your bill on time and they wont call you, #3 if they really want to talk to you, they will call you back.

I called Chase after receiving a call from (223) 987-2500 and they confirmed that they do have a branch in India and it is probably a marketing call from their branch. They call to offer you special services. I asked the Customer Service Rep to STOP calling me. I advise calling your Chase Customer Service Rep and doing the same. Hopefully, I won't hear from these two numbers again. If I do, I will contact this bulletin board again. Thanks for being here and helping me with my questions.

I have received no less than 5 calls per day for the last two weeks. It leaves a message when I'm not at home. The message is an automated message that gets cut off and all you get is the phrase Member Services. I finally got fed up and answered the phone. Of course it's always a man or woman with a foreign accent. Indian of course. I have told them atleast 6 times that they have the wrong number. They either don't understand, care or listen. They have no idea what they're up against. I used to be a collector. I know the Fair Debt Collectors Act and I know how these automated dialing systems work. I explained that to this moron but he refused to let me speak to a supervisor. I'm calling Chase tonight. If I don't get satisfaction I'm closing my account and will never do business with them again.

just thought of something. i know there are some companies that call to find out what time of day is eastiest for you to be reached, and they sell that info to telemarketers. maybe thats what these people do? thats why they just hang up when someone does answer.

today is the first time their number came up on caller id, it usually doesnt show anything. and i get voicemails that start with a recording saying "please hold, a representative will be with you soon" then somone comes on (i guess assuming that i had answered) saying "hello? hello?"

I have a TeleZapper on my phone line that sends a tone to computer dialers that tells them my number is not in service and then their computer will hang up.

several calls in last 2 days asking for someone who is not me -- then they want to verify number they dialed. Once left message asking me to call 800 654-9230.

Received 4 calls today from 1-223-987-2400. The first 3 on my voicemail, asking to call back 1-800-654-9230; the last one I caught (while checking my voicemail), and they were looking for someone else.
I also called back the 800 number. In all cases, caller claimed to be with Chase Bank.

I tried to report this to the BBB, but can't find a way to get it into their system. This number has been calling and leaving an 800 number to call at least every 30 mins for the past few days. When I called the 800 #, a man going by the name Leo Frank answered and asked for my account # or SSN. I gave him neither, but asked who he worked for and he said Chase Credit Service. Haven't had a call since I told him I was reporting him to the BBB.

No answer. There was silence and then it hung up.

Call was at dinner time. An Oriental voice asked for me and I said I wasn't home that I would take a message. Said they were from Chase bank and asked if I was an authorized user of Chase bank Card. Said "No" and they hung up.

If they won't leave you alone, just tell them that it's illegal to call someone repeatedly in this country, due to the American Privacy Act or some crap, and if they don't stop you're going to report them to the FCC and the FTC. Doesn't matter if you're lying or not--this should get them off your ass.

Maybe someone should call Chase's corporate headquarters and threaten to get a national news program interested in this harassing behavior. Dateline or 20/20 perhaps. Maybe Chase will try harder to prevent this abuse of customers by someone using their name.

Where are you people getting Chase from? The 223-987-2500 number leaves a message that says this is credit services, call 1-800-654-9230 as soon as possible. When you call that 800 number it immediately answers and says please enter your account number. It is some type of fraud -- I'd be really careful blaming a particular bank or nationality.

Call received 9/04/2006 at 11:33AM. I didn't answer the phone because I didn't recognize the number.

I am in 42320 in KY. This number is on my caller ID-no message left. When I called it back, all I get is fast busy signal.

I got six calls from the 2400 & 2500 numbers and two from as "Unknown" id in the last two days. They ask for an "Aaron Clap" who is not me. I'll tell them they have the wrong number so they say they will take me off their list but they keep calling. Aaron, please pay your Chase bill so they will stop calling me.

The call from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. No message is left and only rings about twice each time. They call about every 5 minutes. So Annoying!!!!

Called four times on Labor Day 2006 beginning at 8:00 a.m. Left a message to call back at 1-800-654-9230. Called that number and it asked me to enter my account number. I just hung up.

Called last night and harrassed my baby sitter to the point that she called us practically in tears because the man on the line (with a thick accent) yelled at her because he didn't believe that she was a baby sitter (do they have baby sitters in India?) and demanded to talk to my husband. We are current with or Chase card and don't know why he was so nasty.

I recieve a call from this number maybe 5 or 6 times EVERYday. When I answer there is usually silence or a very broken up voice gets thru which I can not understand. These calls are coming from CHASE BANK it is a collection agency.

If you don't dial "1" before the number, you will get a message from "Corporate Offices." They even giv you four names, John, Ron, Kim and Peggy. Yes, they call and hang up when they hear a voice. They call about every three to four days. Today was the most recent on 8/31/06.

Same as everyone else says... no answer and they call multiple times a day. I hope they die.

I average a call a day from this number on both my cell and home phone. Never a message and once when I answered the caller hung up.

i have also been getting about 3 calls a day from this # in the morning I did pick up once and no one was there. I have also been getting unknown calls around the same time

I got a call at 853am from that number, and they said it was Chase Bank, I told him to stop calling....

they called back in about 10 minutes later and I did answer it this time and they said they were with Chase Bank

They call every day at approximately 5:30. I don't pickup unknown calls. They never leave a message.

Calls throughout the day; if I pick up, silence; if I send to VM, no message. Last time I held on for a sec and music started to play. 223 is Mali. Hm! Kids dialing random numbers to see what happens doesn't just happen in the US!

I KNOW it is a collection agency for Chase Bank out of India. They are NOT calling to get you to sign up for their credit card.

Called twice on 8/29/06 during the workday in Arlington, VA; did not leave a voicemail. The number showed up but that's it.

This number is from Chase Bank trying to get you to sign up for thier credit card. Unfortunately, you cannot understand a word that they say except Chase Bank

calls started yesterday night for me... called 5 times and once to day so far..i called back it says, can not be completed. (i never call back with on cell tho,only company phone) WHO THE HELL IS IT?? i hope someone finds out. i get them from 223-987-2400, too....

They call daily... sometimes 4 or 5 times. As early as 8:30 a.m. and as late as 8:55 p.m. (CST). Always shows, "UNKNOWN NAME" and the number. I answered once... Sounded like an "auto dialer" on the other end. Hung up before anyone could come to the line.

Someone said this number didn't exist. Mine was always prefixed with 011, which means that it is an international call. The country code is 223, which is Mali Republic in NW Africa. I picked up today and said "Hello". It was silent for a second, then a female came on and said "Hello? Hello?". Didn't seem to have an accent. I just hung up. They called again about an hour ago. I might talk to them out of curiosity. Probably one of those Nigerian Scam people.
