Call made at 3:28 a.m. asking for reverse charges. Young female, could not make out name.

i just got a call from this number today 2/21/13. I didn't hear the phone ring and they did not leave a message. Is there anyway to actually report them? from what I see here it is a scam.

Man called about my house for sale from a local number. set up time for showing,supposedly he and his wife were coming. Then I got a call and message from the 214 number saying he was lost. Number said texas... then I found this site... very wierd.

Collect call recording is weird, instead of getting a name it sounds like someone shaking a pill bottle and of course I did not accept. I have been stalked by a former friend for well over a year and had to file a No stalking/ No contact order on this woman. Her name is Amy Suzanne Reece, her live ins name is Roberto Roman Webber. They live at 3232 Reece Road, Boonville, NC 27011 and their phone # is 336-486-7846

Collect call recording said callers name was Jamie Elston. Don't know anyone by that name. I assume this was some type of scam and let voice mail pick it up.

Got a collect call from a relative at the Metro Link Station in Van Nuys Ca. I wondered why the area code showed 214 which is not for this area. Upon looking this phone # up (214) 969-5489, I saw that it is a Dallas Texas location. Why would a collect call for in State Comm. (Calling from Van Nuys, CA. to my house, also in Ca. be re-routed to Texas!!
Most likely so they can charge the hell out of that call. I dread seeing my phone bill!! What the hell happened with calling collect from a payphone and that being billed to the recipients phone by their company?
After reading these comments about that scandalous re-routed phone company ILD Comm.- I called the phone # and got a recording about some bullshit with 3 options to Direct Sat TV (whatever the hell that is??)and different Dallas Texas locations.
So much for these shitty payphone collect calls and who handles them now.

After receiving two calls this week in the middle of the night from ILD COMM (214) 969-5489 I decided to check into it. I called the FCC. Here is the deal. This is a scam company probably calling through the internet. If you receive an unwanted call, you should call your phone provider to see if they can block that particular number from calling you. Next, you should call the Federal Trade Commission at 1-877-382-4357 to report it. If you have been fraudulently charged anything, call the FCC as well at 1-888-225-5322. Apparently the FCC can't do anything unless you have been charged. No matter what, do not give you credit card info to these people.

I received several calls this evening curious, I got online to see where this number had come from, being there were three calls that came in one right after another. I then mentioned the calls to my husband, he too had received three calls, after checking the times the calls came in they were one minute apart. I then called our phone carrier, they had no record of the incoming calls, being they weren't answered. Just out of curiosity... I'm a Verizon user.

ILD Communications is headquartered in tx, but they do not offer collect calling service. That is a scam!

Its a calling card number for telephone vendors. Plus if youre getting threatened, be afraid its an ex. If its from jail or correctional or mental inst. Its just a card used for vendors for phone supplied through those facilities. Sure it could be a random jailer who wants to talk but it could also be a family member in trouble, (but probably not) Also, they're using phone cards to collect information and cc #'s so be carefulto steal your identity, and money.

Its a calling card company. People don't realize you dont see the number where theyre calling from, recievers only see the company number which is ILD Communications, a phone card distributer vendor.

Its a collect call type agency. My brother in law called me from it. They use it in places like half way houses or prisons. He called from a halfway house. Had the same type of system when he was in jail. You have to give them a credit/debit card for the call to be put through. Rates may vary, but I had to pay $2 for 10min.

Just got a call from this number...they said my Dad (they knew his name) was making a collect call to my cell and my cell was not authorized to receive collect calls. Said they needed a credit card to put the call though, but I was free to refuse to accept the call if I wanted. After I had them verify my dad's name once, more, I gave them my card number. Then I called my dad right away (he was out of the house at this time) and he said he never called. So I called my credit card and canceled the account..but they had already charged $5.00 to it,

In Illinois,primarily Cook County, ILD Communications (rather than AT&T) picks up the Switching for collect calls made from Police Lockups, Court Buildings, Department of Corrections, and County Jails. So if You're in Cook County, more than likely someone is trying to reach you from Jail.

SCAM!!! 214 969 5489 Called a 3rd time in 10 minutes. First time I didn't answer, second time operater said it was a collect call from unrecognizable name but couldn't be billed to phone so asked for a debit or credit card number, 3rd call came and a recording said she had a collect call from "MY DAD'S REAL FIRST AND LAST NAME"!!! and press one for credit card and two for billing to home address. I'd read alot of these comments since second call so I pressed option 2, bill to my house. A lady came on and said operator would be calling me immediately. 4th call came from a local number 562 630 9449 and when answered a recording said 17dollars and change something or other collect call but now from a different name. Hung up. I called my dad, his cell is off. He's in a meeting, I saw and spoke with him before he left. SCAM! Be carefull.

With the wide variety of call types listed here, it seems like this is a communication company that routes calls through a central number - like a pbx, mabye, that someone else here mentioned. A family member just called me from a pay phone in MT. I did not answer the call because I did not recognize the number, but when he started leaving a message I realized it was him. I'm guessing that smaller communications companies also contract with this company for services. With this centralized number displaying on our phones, we can see by all the messages here that there are many devious, unscrupulous people that will take advantage of our not being able to track back to them. It could be anyone calling from any pay phone that uses this company.

I get a woman who has called no less than twenty times and claims that Dawn Figman is bleeding from her face and if I don't giver her the prosecuter who prosecuted the crimes against Nick Berg, then more anti-semetic violence from the fire department will happen. I know this is a payphone that the call originates from and it comes through this number, as if it is a pbx. My boyfriend, who is a truck driver, called me to tell me he received some time of citation and that he needed to pay it last night or this morning in order to be able to continue driving his truck. I tranferred money to his bank and later around 1pm he called again to thank me for the money. He mentioned he was doing ok. He stated he was in Montana. The caller id listed "TX, 214-969-5489." Something is not right. I keep calling this number and it sounds busy all the time. His cell goes right into vm. He could very well be in jail but he won't 'fess up to it. If anyone has any new info. please post it.

Keep getting collect calls from this number, from a variation of funeral homes. "Negro-fied Funeral Home", "Hell's Paradise Funeral Home", etc but with the same old man voice.

The recording was that of a collect call, only it said "this is a complementary call from..." The inserted name was of someone I know out of state that could very well be in jail. The call was ended before I could listen for options. The caller ID said ILD COMM. I believe that this is a company that handles collect call from the jail, though their web-site doesn';t mention this service.

I received a call from this # 1-214-969-5489 it was a womans voice (operator?) who said this is an IOS operator " Donald " is calling and would like to speak to someone at this # and would like to speak to someone reverse call and charge collect to this # using a credit card or debit card or press a certain # to decline...Well it what my son Donald saying his name when prompted, but I dont know where he was calling from and I was not about to hand out a form of payment info on the phone. Can anyone tell me what kind of phone service this is and what country it is? I believe it my be some sort of international service.....but I am in Illinois!?

Folks...when you were very young, I am sure your Mom and Dad told you not to talk to strangers, right? So then, why are you answering these calls?Just hang up...or, maybe (like me) get a boat air horn to play to them. You can also try the ultimate curse out or speaking with a foreign language. Still, instead of coming up with all these grand schemes of what this is about, or who is doing it, adopt a simple house rule...you will only answer calls from phone numbers you recognize. There are a million phone card scams out there, usually run by the Russian, Japanese, Korean, or American versions of the Mafia. Don't play private detective and don't play cop...just DON'T PLAY! Also, if your relationship with your significant other is so suspect that you would put any stock into a phone card call, then you have problems that go way beyond PITA phone calls. Jahme!

Someone called my father from this number stating that they were this female that my husband is having an affair with. My dad called and gave me this information and when I called the number back all I got was a busy signal. This person has continued to call and harass me several times. I think that this company that allows these call should be shut down. I think that it is really sad that they make it that easy for someone to call and harass and stalk you. I wish that something could be done about this, I feel like Im in danger because this person know a lot of personal information about me and they are playing with my life and I know nothing about them. They are a third party phone company. They will connect you to someone who is calling collect. They will ask for your credit card info to pay for the call. No one is cheating or lying when the area code is 214. That is where the lines are routed from. Please don't jump the gun and assume someone is somewhere else than what they told you. Called at 11:04 tonight, collect from a friend of mine, wanted my debit/credit card to pay, said my phone didn't accept collect calls. I said I only had $5, he said that wouldn't do. I asked if it were an emergency, he said he didn't think so, but would call my friend back and see. He knew my name and my friends, who I've only seen twice in 3 years! I was out of town this weekend, in South Georgia. I just looked over my received calls on my phone and saw this number. Tried to find where it was from and found this site. As I was reading the comments, it occured to me that this call was me calling my husband from a payphone in Ocilla, Georgia. I guess this is the company that owns that phone. Mystery solved for me.

It was a collect call from my boyfriend.They said I had to pay for it by credit card.I did not ask the rate of the call I just stupidly gave them my card # I called the number back that was on the caller Id it would ring and be busy i called information to see if they had another number they did not.. finally i received my credit card bill their was a $90 charge for the call.on the bill there was an 800 # i called and spoke to someone she said being that i didnot know the rate of the call they can just take 25% off the bill.she also claimed that i was on the phone for forty minutes

This number belongs to a calling card company. Whenever my girl friend calls me with her calling card it shows this number and then I answer and she will give me the number of the pay for where she is at and I call her right back. Her job takes her all over the US so I know that it is just the number a pay calling card uses. No need to panic people, just figure out who's trying to call you from a long distance pay phone where they are using a calling card. You will get a busy signal or dead line if you call that number because the computer doesn't allow incoming calls.

Got a call around 10:30 pm - An automated voice said "you have a call from" then some man spoke a name I couldn't understand. The automated voice came back on the line and identified the call was comming from some county jail (I missed where) and that the call would be recorded. I hung up, figured some inmate had dialed my number by mistake .

Well if it's someone in jail that freaks me out more because of the questions this strange man asked my daughters and how did he know their names?

Called during day time hours, spoke to my 10 year-old daughter, knew her name and the name of my other daughters, asked casual questions at first and then proceeded to ask obscene questions and about their ages. Changed the subject when asked who it was. When children directed the telephone (land-line) to a parent who was present, caller said "No no no no no, i don't need to talk to your mother, i just need to know these things" and then hung up. Numerous return phone calls to this number were eternally busy. I am in Oklahoma. I researched this number and phone company (ILD Telecommunications) and found stuff about 5 main cities and the company's base in Florida. If it's coming through phone booths then who was this man?

Called my tmobile cell phone, noone on the other end. I think it is a "routing number" for a cheap long distance via payphone company, but I don't understand why there are calls to random numbers when noone is actually attempting to call. Noone was trying to call me, why did it dial my number?

this number 214-969-5489 and "ILD" on caller I.D is designated to an large area
my friend called me from this number 214-969-5489 (payphone)in Texas City
to my cell phone and told me she'd be in angleton in about an hour
and then when she got to Angleton she called me (payphone) and it showed the same number
I know someone in jail and when they call the same "ILD" and number appears on caller I.D
I hope that helps take the fear out of some of you, for some maybe not like the lady who's
husband is getting out of prison in a year

i use a reverse phone look up and then i ran a background check with an account of mine.... ,I was called around 10am and someone said my wife is trying to make a collect call...and my line doesn't accept it... i new my wife didn't have her cell phone so i said yah, I did not give them a credit card number, then i was disconnected (It was a voice of a lady/girl). never got a call back, so i called the number the first 2 times and it kept on ringing. then i tried the 3rd time and a busy signal.

This is a switch number used to process collect calls form payphones, prisons, hotels, etc

Lady on the other line said that there was a collect call from Earnest Brewster and since my phone would not accept collect calls I could pay with a credit card. I did not know an Earnest nor was that area code familar to me.

Have been having problem with threatening and harassing phone calls. This call sounded like it was from a pay phone as very obvious sounds of heavy traffic could be heard in background. Name "ILD Comm" came up on the Caller ID.

I do have a local police report on file in regards to this whole overall situation.

Most recent other calls have been from pay phone is the local area... but they come up as pay phone and show a low area code and city exchange (for NE Ohio).

It's a pay phone...could be anyone...any idiot out there, or in the case of T.C., could be someone in the room with a conscience, but no real courage....but the pay phone uses this number on phones all across the country..owned by some company in Texas (of course). The pay phone bounces the call to other lines, but this is the number that shows up on your caller ID...verifiable. Yes Folks, This is a phone service provider. They make collect calls for folks in Jail or otherwise can't make an outside call. They are extremly expensive something like $16.00 for the first 6 minutes then $2.00 for every minute after that. unless you have to don't accept these calls. However, The operator will ask you if you will accept the charge.

I own a funeral home, got a collect call from ILD Communications at 12:18 pm for a charge of 1.09 collect from a Rev Walker... I just hung up and tried to call the number direct it stayed busy then I did a Google Search and came up with all these other comments.

turns out it was the ex who called three times from this # (2xs thurs and once fri) and he reported calling from a payphone in south milwaukee, wi and said he was paying w change. must be some sort of exchange # used by pay phones and calling cards would be my guest.

Put this stuff to rest, that number is affiliated with a calling card company who sells minutes etc. The actual caller could be anywhere and that area coded and phone number will pop up on caller id everytime. There could be a hundred people using calling cards from the same company and that number will show up.

The phone numbers 214-969-5489 and 415-656-1073 do not refer to any one single pay phone in any one single location. They are outbound trunk numbers of the long distance companies used by the individual pay phones.


These numbers (214-969-5489, 415-656-1073, etc.) only indicate a call from some pay phone somewhere, not a specific pay phone location.

For example:My fiance left cell at home and called me from 2149695489 from the store up the street, where her battery was dead. I didnt answer until the second time she called and it was her. So it's just a payphone number that is used to connect through.

My boyfriend is in Miami for business. On 6/27/07 he got 2 calls form 214-969-5489 one at 9:21 am lasting 1 min and the other at 11:44 pm lasting 2 minutes. We got into a huge blow out that day so I was just concerned that maybe it's some sort of escort service using #'s you can't call back on. I'm probably just being paranoid but does anyone know???

A friend of mine traveling on the road (on vacation)with her family called from this payphone number today at 6:37pm. Got a collect call from this number at 12:24 PM today from my girlfriend, Was asked to OK this call for $2.50 Collect charge, I agreed and My Girlfriend wanted me to call her on her aunts cell phone number.I looked up the reverse # and it said it was from Dallas, only she was calling from a pay phone in the Providence Hospital in El Paso TX so it has to be a transfer call service used to foward calls

I received these calls after a neighbor called us from his home phone. A few minutes or hours later these strange calls came. Another neighbor has had the same problems. I told the person who the calls seem to come after his calls. He said knows nothing about them and that he was going to call the phone company and report it.

4:30 this morning I received 3 calls back to back from 631-231-8452. Caller ID says Audiovox Corp. When I answered the phone it was just a series of beeps. Then at 7:46 I received a call from 214-969-5485 caller ID came up ILD Comm. When I answered it too was just a series of beeps.

This company, IDL COMM (Pay Tell) is a company that services jail/prisons across the US. They do the collect calling rather than using the local company, BellSouth or At&T for example. My little brother is in jail and can call me long distance. Luckily after two days of accepting his calls they made a courtesy call to let me know that I was being charged $12 per call!!!! I already racked up $90 worth of calls, and each call is only 10 minutes! This is just outrageous!!

This number belongs to ILD Telecommunications. ILD provides operator services (collect calling capabilities to payphones, hotels, schools, hospitals, prisons, etc. This is a switch number which identifies itself across the network. ILD does not control who uses the payphones to make calls. They only process the calls for the companies which own the payphones.

What this proves is that for some of these calls - the harassing ones - people are getting around

No one is cheating, no one is lying... well maybe they are, but not about this number.
This number is owned by a telecommunications company along with several thousands of other numbers.
When a call is placed from a pay phone or using a calling card or pre-paid cell phone, an assigned number doesn't exist to call back. The number displayed on caller ID is the default number used by the telecomm company. It's just that simple. So if you get a call from this number, it is because someone is using a payphone, calling card or pre-paid cell phone owned by or leased by this telecomm company, possibly ILD. In the old days, you could discern the location of a phone number. The area code represented the regional exchange, the prefix (1st three numbers) represented the local exchange, and the suffix (the last four numbers) represented the subscriber account number. Things have changed. Now a computer decides which numbers are displayed even if the call originated from nowhere near the area code or local exchange. In many cases exchanges don't even exist any more. So please, everyone worried about calls by their ex's or whatever, RELAX. Welcome to the 21st century.

This was a COLLECT call from my now X-husband, violating a Dom. Abuse Rest. Order. He said he was in Chicago, been carjacked and needed 41.00 (odd amount). However I know he has childhood/current friends in NW Indiana (which is close). It is illogical when he said he reported the vehicle as carjacked as this would have clued the local police as to his Warrant for Arrest. ~~~~ I do trust this call was made somewhere between Chicago and NW Indiana area.

I met this guy last week. I live in VA, he lives in MD. Not long distance yet this number shows on my cell phone with the info dallas, tx. I missed a call from this phone number on Sunday (10/29/06) morning and when I checked my voicemail it was this guy who lives in MD. telling me he was at the auto mechanics or something getting rims put on. I am guessing this is a telephone card or something.

My girlfriend called me from this number, It was a payphone in Myrtle Beach, SC. I thought about the fact that the caller ID said Texas so I did some research. The phone number is registered under the name A. Watson. The address it is listed to is 2021 Columbus St., Dallas, Texas. From a Google earth picture it looks like an upscale apartment complex. I actually thought for a second my girl had run off to Texas for some reason. Thank god for this website or else I would have been sick for another 7 hours.
