Prerecorded message about home security systems. My home phone is registered on the Do Not Call list. I filed a compliant 10 minutes ago.

Also rec'd call from this number as Oto Inc. they left no message. This call rec'd in Wilm. NC. My number also on Do Not Call Registry.

Didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. I've been on the Do Not Call list since Nov. 2003 and it doesn't do any good.

I did the same thing and so has my wife. And to top things off our phone number has been registered on the national do not call registry for well over a year. We used to get calls from this company about every two to three weeks, all automated/prerecorded, and all hanging up on our answering machine. When we called it back we got the same message Missy talks about... Guess what! IT DOES HURT! Now they are calling us two to three times PER WEEK! Is there anyone who can stop this? My wife and I have filed between 8 and 10 complaints against them with the FTC/National Do Not Call Registry but it has not done anything to stop them yet! I ran a trace on it from one of those "try it free" phone number back tracer outfits and it came back as a cellular phone somewhere in Los Angeles CA! If we could only find out who the carrier is maybe the feds could move on the carrier for allowing them to do this? Who knows? All I DO know is that they are driving me up a wall which is not doing my disability any good!

I called it back to see who it was that called, and got a message stating "Thanks for calling back, if you wish to not receive anymore calls from us regarding our special promotions, please press 1." Now whether they will actually put you on their do not call list is a different story, but it can't hurt to try.

Someone called my cell phone from 213-710-8112. Not knowing who it was, I didn't answer the phone. When I called the number back, a female voice said "if you are interested in NOT receiving any more calls, please hit '1'", then a computer voice says "thank you".

No big deal to me. I'm just glad it's sales call and not some fake debt collector.

Well, it looks like we are joining a rather unpleasant club. Now we have started to receive calls from OTO, inc. We are also on the "Do Not Call" list, and we are disgusted that these people are not found and punished for violating the law in what appears to be an offense repeated over and over and over.

I ignore all 800 calls on my cellphone. If I don't know the number, I don't answer.

I didn't answer the phone because I didn't recognize the number. When I checked my messages it was just dead air. No message left.

Learned something new from a different telemarketer the other day at work. They were calling a business number and the recording said pres #1 to be removed or #9 to speak with someone. I pressed #9. Told the guy to remove our number and why. He told me that by hitting the #1 or #9 we would continue to get calls from them....but if we hit #2 when they call again the calls would stop. He also said he would remove the number. Well, hitting #2 is not an option provided to you in the message....and I haven't tried it yet as they have not called back again.

These annoying calls show up on my caller id all the time. When I am home to answer, no one is there. I am on the state and national do not call list and have reported these calls but they still call again.

If you want to stop these calls, go to donotcall.gov I have reported calls before on the do not call website and I stop receiving them. This is also how the company will receive their fine. Being on the do not call list alone is not going to protect you from telemarketers. If you want to make a change, stop complaining and file a report.

Recorded message begins referencing FBI reports on the economy causing many more home break-ins, they offer to put a free Honeywell alarm system in the home if homeowner allows a sign in the front yard. Press #9 to be removed from their list. I did. Let's see if it works because I have had at least six calls from one or the other number, always hung up immediately after the recording began.

I too am on the do not call registry, but am still harassed by phone calls. I just wanted to let you all know what I had learned recently. I had been receiving a call from a number every day at about the same time. Usually I just ignore the 1-800 numbers as answering them never lead anywhere good, but was just in a bad mood and decided a telemarketer was just the person to let go on. The lady was from the breast cancer society, so luckily, she was safe from my wrath, but I did ask her why she was able to call me, and she informed me that telemarketers are able to call you ONE time even if you are on the DO NOT CALL list. If they do not receive a "human" voice (i.e. they receive an answering machine, voice mail etc, they CAN keep calling back)- being on do not call list does NOT make you exempt from telemarketers UNTIL they hear it from you. After that first contact from you or a representative from your household, informs them of your being on that list, THEN they can be punished for any further contact. Also, people who are bill collectors do NOT fall under this category and can call as often as they like from they hours of 8 am to 10 pm ( depending on where THEY are so could be 7am to 11 pm or whatever time where you are) Just wanted to let you all know! :)

if you call the number back, it tells you to press "1" if you no longer want to be called by them. no calls since yesterday after getting called by them everyday for a week at least 2-3 times a day.

As soon as I hear a recorded message about this or that service, I put the phone down. It's nice to compare notes with others who have the same problems. I always think these are scams and would rather be cautious than gullible. Glad the internet is here to check it out.

This company has been calling us for several months and will not stop. They have called over 3 times today alone (it is now 3:40 pm Arizona time) and it is a recorded message, referencing something about the FBI reports. They are now calling from 2 different numbers, 213-710-8112 and 603-214-3645. I found an article in the July/August issue of the AARP magazine entitled "Is There a New Way to Stop Telemarketing Calls?" which referenced the Federal Commission where one could file a complaint. OTO, INC called this AM and I called the Federal Trade Commission (1-877-382-4357) immediately and reported them. Less than 10 minutes after I hung up with the FTC this company called back and now appear to be harassing us because of my reporting them.

Where do we go to file a complaint, and find out who they really are, and get them to STOP!!!!! We are on the Do Not Call list, and still they persist.

I have gotten a call from this number once a day for the past week and its getting a annoying! One day they called my cell phone at 10pm and woke me up. I answered and it was a voice recording "In This Economy" I hung up. Whats worse is my number is on the do not call list.

Day 1 -- Recording said "in this economy 1 in 4 homes will be broken into.... blah blah blah! I hung up
Day 2 -- They rang my phone I answered it after the 2nd ring and Hello Hello HELLO! The line clicked and went dead.
Problems...
1 -- Why if my phone is on the do not call list is it still being called.
2 -- They get away with it, because its a recording... and you cant yell and remind them of the DO NOT CALL list.
3 -- On day two I paid for a *69 to find out who called me...
4 -- I havent worked in 50 weeks and have no income, I didnt need the added charge on my phone bill and I couldnt, not find out who called in case it was reguarding a job.
5 -- On day one I felt threaten, what if this call was a robber checking to see if I was at home or not?

We are on the Do Not Call list. They called anyway with a recording about alarm services if we will allow a sign in our yard. They do not mention other charges. On reading internet entries we find the message is misleading at best. We recommend reporting to the FCC.

I assumed the DoNotCall list would discourage these calls but I guess not. On my caller ID almost every day sometimes several times, never leaving a message.

They called and wanted to give me a "free" Home Security system and an FBI sign for my yard to scare away burglars (which I can buy from Radio Shack for $5). The system that they described was lucky to be worth $200. Then they said, "Oh, by the way, you need to give us your credit card number, because you need to sign up for the monthly monitoring service to get the "free" security system". I hung up.

I get about 3-4 calls a week on my voice mail from these turds at OTO Inc 213 710-8112 about break-ins, signs in yard, security system and related b.s. I filed several FTC DNC list complaints and finally got off my arse and blocked incoming calls from their number, for now. My phone service is comcast. I'd sure love to have one of their reps show up at my front door to discuss home security though, it would make my day!

I answered the phone - they informed me that due to the down turn in the economy that crime rates were up and they were offering to install an alarm system with an $850.00 value for free and put a sign in my front yard. Homeowners who were interested were directed to push 2 to be removed from their list push 9. I hit nine and googled them.

Called number back and it was a recording that said to press 1 to be removed from their marketing list. It takes 72 hours. We will see.

I just call T-Mobile and they said " We can't do anything about it" I said "Is it possible that T-Mobile created this company to get us the customers to waste our minutes so we charged extra for going over our plan minutes" there was a long pause and she re-stated that they can not do anything about it and that it would be up me. Options #1 change my number #2 get the police involve #3 better business #4 solve it my self. and she tried to cut the conversation. ATT sued a MD company for the same thing and won. T-mobile left up tom to save you all from losing your minutes and time.

I just received a call from Oto Inc. I have heard in the past, if you answer and there is a pause it is most likely automated. In this case, if you hit the # button several times it is supposed to throw your number off of their call list. I did this, so we'll see if that works!

Apparently they have changed their phone # and are now hitting Wisconsin hard. The number that is showing up on my caller ID is 603-214-3645. I keep the answering machine off and when their number comes through I just delete it. If you attempt to call them back you only get a busy signal now. Just ignore them and they will go away.

They called here with the same security system offer. I live in a trailer park and no one in their right mind would install a security system in a trailer. No one has anything worth taking in the first place. I'm on the DNC registry and have been for a long time. I don't know why I've been getting these type of calls lately. Normally, I don't answer, but this one came up as Cellular Call and because I have a relative currently in Afghanistan with the National Guard who calls from cell phones, I answered.

I hung before I could even get much of an idea of what they where trying to sell me. I honestly don't remember or even care now. I just remember it sounded like some sort of automated system(probably to save money on having to pay real people who would only get their feelings hurt from everyone hanging up on them. :-)) They called me on my pre-paid cell, and I really wasn't trying to waste my minutes on their spiel. Got another call about 'debt consolidation' or some such today and it came up Private so I don't have number or anything for them. That was automated too.

I received a second call from this number today. It does show the digits and they did not leave a message, but I recognize this number as having called before.

Pressing a "1" or "2" or whatever to be removed from their list is the worst thing you can do -- all it does is tells them that there's a real live person attached to the phone number they keep calling. Like with email SPAM that tells you to click on a link to be removed from their list -- doing that just verifies for them that the email address is valid and active.

I am also on the DNC call list but did thoughtlessly give my phone number to a retailer the other week. I have repeatedly been called every Monday thru Friday at least one or twice a day from 7:45pm to 8:45pmCST. I answer, they hang up; I've called the number back and a pre-recorded message says that you can opt out of the calls but after three weeks attempting this, I do not believe it has any impact! Btw...I am on the DNC Registry List. Now...I just answer and hang up the phone when they call!
I've also filed a complaint on both the DNC & FCC Consumter complaint links. Hopefully, they can put a stop to this annoying practice! Btw..the FCC brands this type of complaint as "Abandoned Calls".

I never answer my phone. I let it go to the answering machine. If I hear my family or friends I pick it right up. If not, I let it go. Telemarketers NEVER leave a message and ALWAYS just hang up, so I never have to deal with them.

Neither the government nor the telephone companies will effectively stop these types of calls. Sure there are "laws" but there are enough loopholes to drive a fleet of congressional limos and telephone vehicles through.

Why can't the FCC stop these scammers? I didn't answer the call because I didn't recognize the number. Went to reverse phone lookup and found many many complaints.
I am also on the DO NOT CALL list, but they still call. Why isn't the information on the DO NOT CALL list being enforced???? Enough already.

I HAVE FOUND THIS NUMBER ON MY CALL ID A FEW TIMES. THEY NEVER LEAVE A MESSAGE ON MY ANSWERING MACHINE. I TOO AM ON THE DO NOT CALL REGISTRY. I WAS HOME ONE DAY WHEN THE CALL CAME IN AND I SAW IT ON MY CALL ID. I SCREAN MY CALLS FROM CALLERS THAT I DO NOT KNOW. AGAIN, THEY HUNG UP AND DID NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE. I WONDERED IF I SHOULD HAVE ANSWERED IT OR NOT THINKING IT COULD HAVE BEEN IMPORTANT. I AM GLAD I FOUND THIS WEB SITE. NOW AT LEAST I KNOW THAT I AM NOT MISSING ANYTHING IMPORTANT AND THAT I CAN IGNORE ANY FUTURE CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER.

I have received calls from this number and several other numbers, all saying basically the same. In the end they want a credit card number. It is a scam. they will steal your number and use it and "never" be found and you will be stuck with the bill. One call I got was advising my automobile warranty was about to expire. I knew this was a load of crap, so, I played along. when the Idiot on the other end was finally a person, he started asking questions like "what kind of vehicle do you have" I said, "If you know my warranty is about to expire, you should know that!" Well I kept going back and forth calling him an A$$hole and a few other choice words and ended up telling him to go FU@& himself and hung up. It may not help the frequency of calls, but sure made me feel good. The other thing is to go along till they say they want your card number and then say nope and hang up. or ask them for their credit card number. Also listen closely, the background noise sounds like they are in a bar.

am not even sure who they are, all i know is i get back to see my phone with one missed call and this number. with this many complaints it makes me wodner how htey are still around.

This was an Automated message trying to sell security system. It did not sound right to me(Scam), so I hung up the phone.

You can request to be taken off this list 50 times and they will still call you! Do not call Registry is FINALLY taking complaints on these jerks as of 5/18/2009. Their 31 days is up! File complaints! Get rid of these guys!!!!!

this number has called me 5 times in the last 2 weeks. finally called back and it gave me an automated option to be taken off their calling list. hopefully that works. PS, reverse phone lookup says it's in gardena, ca. i didn't care enough to pay to find the address so i don't know what the actual company is.

213-780-8112 OTO INC... This place needs to be Stop.. This is the 3rd time this week. I just filed a report with the "do not call registry" hopefully this will help.

I just got a call from this number only it said it was OTO INC on the ID. I answered so I could tell them to take my number off their list, but it was a recording. As I am on the do not call registry I was very aggravated and reported it to the do not call registry.

We did not answer as we did not recognize the number. No message was left. However, another call came in "incoming call" moments later and also did not leave a message. Phone number is in my name.

Have received 8 calls on cell phone over past month. Have also tried removal procedure. Time to make this a political issue. Call you congress persons and let them know the laws are not being enforced

Received a call from this number, but since I have the Caller-ID feature if a number or business is not displayed. I never answer, what's the use of having the feature if you answer unknown callers. How convienent.

Pressing 1 or 9 to have these messages discontinued does not work. OTO will just keep calling. The best thing is to report them to the DNC abuse list. Hopefully, if enough people complain, the government will take action against this company.

Hi guys. I received a call from these guys just like you. They triggered my voice mail but of course left no message. I assume it's due to the fact that it's a computer calling you and a live operator doesn't say "hello" until the computer hears you say "hello", then they are connected with you. Anyhow, I also am on the DNC registry and will be reporting them. Just so you know, I've not been receiving ANY calls from "sales people" for a long time until one day I foolishly game my home phone number to the sales guy at AUTOZONE. Bang, one week later I am receiving a slew of new calls and offers. Please DO NOT give your personal information out to these retail stores because they will sell your phone number before you leave the store. Even if they say they do not, chances are they do. I have heard that by giving your personal information to retail stores you are waiving your right for the DNC registry. DON'T DO IT.

get calls 2-3 times/day from this number. Have tried calling back and "pressing 2" to be removed from their list...nothing happens (big surprise!!!) stayed on the line yesterday, they wanted to "talk to me about home security" told the lady that answered that I wanted to be removed, also will be going to the FCC and BBB to report this "company"

This may actually work!! If you get a call from these OTO INC idiots you don't have to do what I keep doing which is yelling at the recording to "F#$% OFF!!" I decided to test out a theory: I called them. To my surprise the answering was an automated recording (no, that's not the surprise) which says that if you do not wish to receive future calls to press 1 (that was the surprise) and advices you that it will take 7-10 business days to activate. So I pressed 1. The recording said, "Thank you." I hung up. Now I'll wait. Hopefully it really will work as I have been getting calls from these freaks for over a month 3-5 times daily at all hours. When I answered one of these calls, I received a recording that states something about how many break ins, etc. I think they are trying to sell a security systems.

I got a call from 213-710-8112. My answering machine took the call and the caller identified himself as calling from the police dept. Caller id showed oto inc.

Caller has called several times. I have called the number back because there is never anyone there when I answer. When I call back, they ask if I want to be removed from caller list. I have clicked yes several times, but they always call back.

These people, National Security Group, are representatives of the ADT company. Once you get past the first caller, if you play along, they transfer you to a representative of ADT to sell you an alarm system. I'm calling my state Attorney General tomorrow. I suggest you do the same every time they call. Maybe legal action will get these idiots out of business.

THIRD TIME TODAY that they have called!!!!! They call on a daily basis now...I'm even on the national do-not-call registry. Message is a recoding regarding the FBI...I think. I dunno, I hang up every time. This s**t is getting OLD!!!

I am on the Do Not Call List. I will go to the .gov site and register a complaint.

Called me today; did not answer and they did not leave a message.

They call every 3-4 days, but we screen calls, so I've never heard the message. We are on the do not call database.

This is the seventh call I received from the National Security Group this month. I have used their automatic "opt out" number twice, spoken to a woman named Ashley twice and talked to a supervisor named Kathy Perry once. I have now asked to have my name removed from their list 5 times and though they have promised removal in 72 hours of the first time I opted out, on April 3, 2009, they have called me 6 times in the 25 days since. I have reported them to the FTC and the Texas State Attorney General's office and will continue to register complaints against them until they stop calling. Since my cell phone number is on the DNC registry, they should never have called me the first time, much less the additional 6.

It went through to my voicemail but it appeared to be a recorded message. All my voicemail caught was "Press 1 for more information, press 9 to be removed from our calling list." I am on the national do-not-call list though, so I'm not sure how they got my number.

I am on the Do Not Call List for both cell and land line. Message was from a Get a Cash Advance Loan for 30 days. How did they get my number? Everyone knows those types of loan places are just a hugh rip off. I want to filoe a complaint.

Just call the number back and you will be asked to press "1" if you want to be removed from their list. I did...I don't know (yet) if it has ended the barrash of calls from them. Good Luck.

The best way to fight these type of calls if you are on the do not call list is to file a complaint at donotcall.gov website. Maybe if they get enough $11,000 fines they will give up.

they keep calling. first time they gave the same story as other callers (can we install a sign in your yard). this time no message. i called back and it gave an option to be removed from the list (at the very beg of the call). note, we had a "security" company pressure a bunch of older folks in my neighborhood in person by knocking on doors to put up their "security" signs. it just blatently labeled which houses didn't really have a security system....and i think at least one of those houses was broken in to. scamSCAMscam.
