Received call at 2:15pm today and when the answering machine picked it up they hung up
Also, received call a 2:15pm (11/12/08). Answering machine picked up and the caller hung up.
Time share scam.
Live call center, male telemarketer, American accent.
"May I speak to Mrs. Florence Nelson?"
"Did you say FLORENCE Nelson?"
Before I could say she is deceased, he hung up.
lft no message
Received several calls the past few weeks and finally took the time to *69 to get the number and do some research. The call start with a female recording asking you to press 1 for a debt reduction offer (syspected scam). Every time I tried to do that just to talk to someone live, they would hang up. after I received the 213-504-7050 number and called it directly, then I received a live voice and demanded they remove my numbers from their data base. the company was Northside Lead Service at 7979 NW 21st, Ste 13666, Bld PTY, Doral, FL 33122. Interesting since the 213 number is a CA number. We will see if the calls stop.
same scenario as Gene. However, i once got through to a person, because i wanted to get off their call list. I lied about needing a large loan and they were supposed to transfer me to a special agent. Then, got cut off again. They are calling me regularly and i am so tired of them. Thanks for an address i will try that route.
I have asked 3 times in a row for them to stop calling but they don't respond and disconnect the line, and do call back anyway. Harrasing..... :(
These people have left 3 messages on my phone and claim that I have already talked to them. This is a lie, and is a trick to try and get me to call back and/ or make it sound as if it is a legitimate call as per the Federal do not call regulations. If this aggressive marketing is an indication of how they do business I want nothing to do with them and would not recommend them to anyone.
Thanks to the person who checked out who these shysters are.
I am so very sick of these pricks with their "we've talked before and for some reason our offer wasn't right for you at that time" crap, from the actor who claims to have my "file" open in front of him complete with the sound of rustling paper. Hey, maybe it's not right for me because yer a lying thief leaving a boilerplate recorded message? Hmm...
They call me at work, and they call me at home, several times a week. A brief web search reveals that I am not alone in this, and people seem to be pretty confused about how to deal with it. Since the call itself is essentially a phishing scam, the perps don't respect any government do-not-call lists, much less piecemeal requests from individuals to be put on some nonexistent internal do-not-call list. The worst thing is, if even one person in a thousand is buying into this scam, their autodialers and call centers are probably paying for themselves.
I did see one interesting suggestion on another board, where an annoyed recipient eventually got some phone hardware that generates the three telecom control tones you hear at the beginning of a "the number you've dialed does not exist" message every time he gets a call, and after that his phones ring normally. Apparently, this is strong repellant for autodialiers.
I get between 2-3 phone calls a day coming into my very busy corporate office. Despite the fact that this is a 501 3C, is it not possible to deem these as harrassment? If so, would it not also be possible to lodge a complaint with my state's Consumer Affairs Division?
Any thoughts?
they call my house 2-3 times daily including weekends - i registered my number at donotcall.com .... i suggest everyone do the same .... take care
A call from 213-504-7050 was just made to my cell phone (Saturday 31-Oct-2009, approx. 3:45pm EDT). I didn't pick up, and no message was left on voice mail.
