Who Called Us

After repeated calls with no message left, I finally decided to pick up the phone the third time they called me at school. Some guy asked for someone who has never had this phone # (I have owned this number since 2002) and hung up when I asked where he was calling from. Another number for my blocklist; I just wish it was free to block these calls at the carrier level.

I called their Chicago headquarters number [773 486-6637] provided by Jon Mac below [thanks!]. I told them to put me on their DNC list, and that I and others on this site will report them to the FTC. I told the FTC about these pages of complaints, and suggested they look here. I also suggested there should be calls/wk limits on exempted categories [political, charitable,...] as well.
PLEASE take it a step further and COMPLAIN to the FTC. A surge in complaints on one # will get their attention.

Calling multiple times per day at all hours of the morning and evening and never leaving a message may be an effective fundraising method for some people, but it only makes me determined to never donate to that organization again!!!!! Just saying, Telefund.

Only got this call when tried to enter contest with Game Stop. Crap!

Incessant calls

When I answered the phone, there was simply no answer. I *69ed the call and found it was from this number.

Caller ID said "CALIFORNIA". A male voice came on after I said "hello" and asked for someone who has never used this phone number. He claimed to be "Shawn O'Rielly" from "Earth Justice". When I asked for the company's address he immediately hung up the phone. This is a sure sign that it is some kind of scam. They are apparently using names of reputable organizations to try to trick people into giving up their credit card numbers. Similar scammers were doing this about six months ago on the same phone line. This scammer has called every day for the last 12 days. In summary, three items indicate scam: 1. No valid name in caller ID, 2. Asks for an unknown person, and 3) Hangs up when you try to find out who they are.

these people call my home four times a day...sometimes late. I am in Pennsylvania and there is a three hour time difference. So this is an interruption of my time with my family

I don't appreciate getting a call from what turned out to be a bunch of democrat fundraisers pressing me to give money to their cause. They didn't give a damn that I've lost my job and am still unemployed! Despicable, but oh so typical because they have no shame. I will never take another call from these arrogant ___________. BEWARE!

they called several times and the line is muted so no sound is heard on the other end. Today they called at 7:40PM on a Friday. Annoying!

Called their number, dialed extension 304 to unsubscribe, and got "mailbox full". Sigh.

Outfit called once today so far only. Let the phone ring and the answering part took the call. My outgoing message tell callers if they are a market research company, survey taking company, or a telemarketer to hang up immediately and not call again. Seems to work so will see if it does with this outfit.

These guys never give up. They call at least twice a day, even Saturdays, hang up when they hear the answering outgoing message, never leave a message. I'm going to try the opt out extension 304, but I expect they won't quit because they seem to be calling for several causes I've contributed to previously.

Call them back, and when Telefund answers dial 304; this directs you to an "opt out" extension. i just now did it, we shall see if it works, lol My Thanks to all the people who spoke up on this page, great idea!

I just got back into town and looked through the Caller ID -- 24 calls from 213-487-9500, often several times a day. I would be much more likely to both answer the phone and even donate money if an agency (ACLU, Planned Parenthood, whomever) called me directly, even though I hate telephone solicitations.

I had been getting calls from 213-487-9500. Finaly decided to answer. It is the from the ACLU wanting to up donations. I am unemployed and my beneits ended. We said goodbye and no more calls.

I'm sick of hearing from 'Telefund Inc" at (213) 487-9500. They call several times per day. I either don't answer and they do not leave a message or answer and turn up the volume on my radio or TV. I just HATE solicitations! I'll try Tom's idea ...

In the several days, I've gotten four calls from them. I don't answer 'cause I don't feel like hearing the pitch. They don't leave a message. All the groups I contribute to have my e-mail address, so why do I have to be pestered by phone?

The caller said he was calling from the International Rescue Commission for relief for Haiti. Had our name, and said we had donated to them before. Unlikely!

Over and over and over they call. At least every other day. I keep picking up hoping I can tell someone to remove me from their list but no one ever answers. If you want to give them a call their number can be found at telefund.com

CALLS 2-3 TIMES A DAY NEVER LEAVES MSG.

I've been receiving daily calls from this number for a couple weeks without answering. After finally doing some digging and learning the nature of the company I called their number 12/31/09 and added my name to their do not call list. I will post to let you know if it works. Thanks.

Asked for two people who don't live here, never have. Verified several times and apologized for the call. It appears someone has been using a fake number (for them, not for me) as a contact. Seemed legitimate.

I've been getting calls from this number sometimes during the daytime and sometimes at night. No one leaves any message. I received the last call at 8:49 am, eastern time, today.

If enough people report them, perhaps they'll be investigated. They've been calling me at night for a week. I can set my phone to auto-block them but someone should do something.

Please make them stop calling!

They have called 3, 4, 5 times a day for the last 3 or 4 weeks. I never answer - goes to voicemail, but this does not deter them. Sometimes they'll call twice - a second time within a few seconds of the last call. Obviously, this is annoying beyond words.

Every night at about 715pm we get a call from "California". It is extremely annoying.How can we get them to stop?

I suspect this is a phishing outfit. I would not be lured into calling them back or giving them my number for their "do not call" list. That probably just nets then a list of actual numbers to use for telemarketing. Probably allowing voice mail to get rid of them does the same thing, as would answering the phone. I wonder if anything can be done to rid ourselves of this kind of annoying stuff.

Calling two to three times a day. What a PITA

The caller is Telefund, Inc. telefund.com , 3550 Wilshire Blvd, Suite #1260, Los Angeles, CA 90010, (213) 487-9500 . To try to stop these annoying calls, I just dialed their number (213-487-9500), let their message play, then followed instructions for putting my phone number on the company's "do not call" list. The instructions were: press 304 and say your phone number twice. (I hope it worked!)

It turned out that their caller fails. It was planned parenthood (in this case), they got through the next time. I told them they have a problem and they will look into it.

I receive a phone call from them at least 1 or 2 times a day. I do have caller ID, so I don't answer the phone. However, I did answer it once and there was nothin but silence. I would NEVER give them a donation!!!!!!!! They are a pain in the ___!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They just call and hang up when I answer, days of it. I don't have caller ID but did get the number. It just makes me want to never donate money to anyone again.

Someone called and sounded a little intoxicated asking for someone, I did not understand what she was saying. This is the first time anyone ever said anything since the 10 or ll calls they have made to me. They usually just hang up. These calls are very annoying.

I too have gotten calls from Telefund, Inc. The phones will ring two or three times. They hang up without leaving a message.

Well, the calls have ceased. The answer to rid the annoying calls was in my telephone book. The custom feature is called "Selective Call Rejection". Dial *60 to activate the service and listen to the recorded instruction. The caller is put on a "do not disturb list" and your phone won't ring if they call.

Please check your telephone books for the custom feature and service. Or, contact your telephone provider to obtain the feature. It may be free dependant on your state, etc. I didn't subscribe for the feature from my telephone service provider named "Windstream".

Getting calls from Telefund Inc 213-487-9500, almost daily. 2/25/09, today, they called again at 4:10 PM, while I was out. I did answer yesterday and a woman asked for me by name. I had donated to the ASPCA and they wanted more money. I told her that I would relay her message (to me). Everybody wants money. I'd like to be sure that my donation actually helps the animals, and not to pad an executive's salary.

Someone named Larry (I asked who's calling) asked for my husband. When I got him, the person hung up.

Caller hangs up when answering machine picks up. Have had several calls in the last week.

15 calls from this number, no messages left. Very irritating and creepy. I'm on the Do Not Call List for solicitations too.

Saw list of their "charities" on another # list. I have never given to any of those charities and do not appreciate getting called on my cell phone. I did not answer tonight and will not answer in the future.

Didn't answer, left no message, I will not be taking their calls.

Call the number back and go to ext 304. Give them your number and they say they will remove it in 24 hrs

Did not leave a message. Supposed to be a fundraiser for progressive organizations (ACLU, PETA, etc.). I'll not be answering their calls. Hope they'll stop!
