- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Got a call from Steve McKoy (spelled with a K) at 212-299-7834. Used typical Wallstreet high energy obnoxious forceful sales pitch. He would not listen. Hung up on him.
I just had a call from "Steve McCoy" the caller id said "John Thomas Financial" and the number was 212-299-7834. The asshat would only speak to my husband and refused to talk to me about the nature of his call. I told him if he couldn't speak to me, then he would never get to speak to my husband. He asked me why I was so abrasive, and I told him he was rude. I told him there isn't anything that he could possibly sell to us that we would ever buy. I hung up on him, and when I called the number back, I asked for his supervisor, and he told me he was the president of the whatever. He answered the phone "McCoy", so I got his full name. What a stupid shit. How could you possibly ever make money selling anything that way? I am going to find out who his real boss is and give them an earful. Fucktards.
Mine was from "Wayne Rosanski" of John Thomas Financial (which is a real firm, but I don't know if he's with them). Also, the number on call waiting was 000-000-0000; he gave me this number when I asked for it. He didn't do the 'prior call' bit, but that's standard with these guys. They think I was a CEO (never was), which is why they call me.
Reported his name was "Steve McCoy" calling to follow-up with our CEO on a prior call. After telling "Steve" our CEO was out of the office, he said that he would call back this week and that the reason for his call was not anything too "excruciating".
