Who Called Us

After reading several of the comments posted, it makes me wonder if the caller may have had something I would actully want to purchase! Maybe we could be left messages such as, "We are calling to offer you a renewal on your current subscription; we will call you back at another time and can respond then if you are interested in participating in this promotion." Polite language and information is so helpful when consumers are trying to screen calls. I miss listening to quality, courtesy sales calls - the ones with the dead air time, not getting my name right, or pretending to be long lost friends are a clue I am wasting my time.

listen fools...if they dont call u to renew ur subscription,,,,then they got morons calling them complaining they didnt get their magazine,,,so answer, quit being cowards, and resolve it...this is like a site for the paranoid and retarded.

Hey, pays the bills. You're right. I do work for a living. But my job doesn't entail molesting people in their homes. And, yes, I do know the law. Guess what. The fact that it's legal doesn't make it less aggravating or more justifiable. What you do is force yourselves into people's houses without being invited. Having done business with a company isn't a blank check to pester them to death. If anything, a company that respects its customers isn't going to accost them repeatedly with bullshit advertising and junk calls from people with the IQ of a field mouse. But then, I guess you're not calling on behalf of a company that respects its customers, are you? The fact that you're not on welfare doesn't automatically justify an assault on people's privacy.

I finally picked up the phone after"unavailable" called every 10 minutes X 4: Guess they don't care if someone is recovering from surgery, and trying to rest. At least "Sue, from the AFLCIO" got to start her message before I hung up! I too am registered with the "DO NOT CALL" List which doesn't seem to work against these type of calls (including politicions who want me to know their opinion and want me to agree with them).

We don't dial the fucking numbers manually #2 If you weren't such an impatient ass then give it a minute, sometimes there is a delay in when the phone is picked up by you, as to when the call comes through to us. #3 The do not call list as you have already heard, does not apply to companies who have a previous business relationship with their customers, however we would be more than happy to take you off our fucking list, so we never have to talk to fucks like you again. #4 Duh, Don't hang-up, say I'm not interested & hmmm guess what? you won't get another call...dumbass. #5 We do as we are suppose to do & abide by the law, which means we can't leave messages (ever thought about that?) #6 When does the dialer (not us personally) give up? It's simple! The lead we are calling (which is you) doesn't stop being called until there are so many attempts to the number & then it magically dissapears.(if you don't like it, save yourself some time & pick up the phone-we'll identify ourselves, & then you simply say "take me off your list or I am not interested" Easy as that people. So until you follow up on what the fuck your bitching about & learn the laws (as we have rights too) then shut up about it. It really isn't hard.

I've been receiving calls from this company repeatedly over the last few weeks - I have not spoken with anyone or had any messages left.

From what I've read on this site and others they are calling to renew magazine subscriptions.

I used the link from another post on this site to obtain contact information for this company. I called the number listed there - (301) 881-2720 - and asked them to remove my number. They took the information and stated that it would take about 24 hours to process. I did not encounter any problems. Only time will tell if it actually worked.

This is a magazine renewal call. The rules for DNC list don't apply here because technically you are a "customer" having already subscribed to a magazine. DNC is only to stop unsolicited calls for new customers. Sturner Klien is considered an "agent" of whatever publishing company wants you to renew so again the call is unfortunately legal. Best thing is to answer, tell them you don't want to renew and have them take you off of their mailing and calling list. Stinks that they call at ridiculous times, but it is the only way to make it stop.

Who is calling, if you are going to call and someone answers then say something for god sake or don't call at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As I suspected they did call again. This time I was here to answer the phone. They were calling about renewing a subscription to Consumer Reports. I informed them that it already had been renewed. They thanked me and said they would update their records.

Interesting that Consumer reports is a non-profit organization and depend on donations to fund their operation. They send out multiple mailings about donations, sweepstakes, subscriptions, etc.. Now they are hiring a telemarketer to bug people about subscriptions. Seems like an odd way to spend donated money.

I wasn't near my phone when this came in and hey didn't leave a voice mail. My number is on the Do-Not-Call list so I ordinarily pick up on these calls so I can get enough information to file an FTC complaint. I've never done business with Sturner Klein. Hmmm, wonder how that would work if a complaint was filed about Sturner Klein (caller ID info) rather than the company they say they represent???? Guess I will have to wait to see if they call again. Oops, I think I just made a joke. Of course they will call again. Their making money off these annoying phone calls.

These jerks call every day. I don't answer. Today they called eight times (so far). That's not telemarketing. That's harassment. The DO-NOT-CALL list is a joke. Congress won't do anything to stop this because it would piss off the lobbyists. Being mere citizens, people like us don't matter. I pay to have a phone, but 95% of the calls I get are ones I don't want and these assholes are the worst. Below they say they are just trying to do their job when they call back after someone hangs up on them. Yeah, a serial killer just does his job, too. You guys are nature's lowest life form (right below serial killers). Get the message assholes! When someone hangs up, it's because they don't want what the fuck you're selling, you morons.

i had subscribed to a garden magazine which has been hounding subscribers to buy a "lifetime membership". They must be going broke imo. I have not renewed so I'll bet that is reason this spammer is hounding me. If I'm correct , a "prior business relationship" gives them an exception to the do not call regs. I hope the new congress revisits that law and tightens it up. worse are the calls that come thru without a number. you cant look them up or report them. That shouldn't be allowed. I have anonymous calls blocked but I suspect they set up their switchboards this way. I just tried to call the number above and got a recodrding that the number is out of service. It was working twenty minutes ago when they called me.

I subscribe to Kiplinger's Bottom Line Personal and have for a long time. Perhaps that's why Nova One/Stunrer Klein (305-327-1751) keeps calling me? Very annoying, as they never leave a message. I just called them back, took Option 1 to leave a message, and asked to be removed from their call list. Time will tell if it worked.

Busy:

Don't give us any garbage about how pure and sweet Sturner Klein. A nice summer job? Do you enjoy being harassed all the time? Because that's what you do to us! And asking to be removed from the calling list doesn't work. I did that and two days later the calls began, again.

Do you really want us to stop being angry with you? There's a simply way to fix that: STOP CALLING!

This company calls 5-6 times a week, VERY annoying. They will continue to talk to the VM until these idiots get tired of dialing.

Got a call from "Idaho" on 12-15-2005 at 8:44 pm PST. 1-208-327-1751.. Very similar to the Ontario Calls I get also. I was not familiar with the number, so I did not answer and as soon and my message machine came on and it was THERE turn to talk,, NOTHING!!!

5th call in 3 days - no message. Called the number and got a recording: "We were calling about a subscription you have with us. No need to worry, we will try again"

Also we also do calls for inmates... so if you have an inmate thats all locked up it could be one of them trying to reach you...

YOU PEOPLE MAKE ME CRAZY... of course im talking abut you people leaving comments...if you called and left sturner and klien a message saying to take you off the list...you will need to call the magazine company cause we dont even know what magazine... and we never call you more than twice a day...unless you tell us your busy and then we call you back...your fault not ours..

if you do not want you phone number or address sold to other companies then when you call to order a magazine then you need to ask them who there mailing list gets givin to. Seriously people we are all just tryin to get back on our feet. im sorry you guys get so many calls but maybe you should answer the phone and say nicely " remove my number from the calling and mailing list". easy peasy! we call for many different magazines let me list a few
National geographics ,outdoor life magazine,lucky magazine.. get my picture we call for hundreds of magazines...
that website or phone number you called to get you takin off the national do not call list if you read the whole thing it does not apply to previous stuff... like if you subscribed to Lucky magazine last year, then this year we are still allowed to call you ask you if you would like to renew. please dont be mad at us just cause we are doing our job.
