These calls are VOICE MESSAGES for Promotions..... Companies are using numbers from local states now due to the DECREASE of numbers and that no one will answer a 888/866/800 #

Harmless if you let it go to voice mail

Call received back in Sept.2009 from 207-512-5089 APP CONSMER SVC on Caller ID. Today (16 Dec. 2009) received a call from 207-512-5086 APP CONSMER SRV. Please note they changed the last digit of the phone number AND they changed the spelling of the abbreviation for the word "Service" from SVC to SRV. Boo-hoo, now I have to enter the new hang-up telemarketer info. onto my blacklist blocker software. This will give them a, satisfying-to-me, one-ring disconnect.
Since this summer of 2009, I have listed over 200 separate would-be phishing/hang-up telemarketer/car warranty & credit card interest lowering, etc, etc, ad nauseum, phone numbers/Caller ID Names on my blacklist. Today, besides this specific one changing their Caller ID Number/Name by one digit and a slight spelling/abbreviation change, I've received two others pulling the same trick. Hoping to get around my blacklist blocker, guess they were hoping I'd be stupid enough to pick up the phone. Nope, instead, I just Googled the "new" Number/Name, verified they are reported online as hang-up telemarketers, and added thewm to my ongoing blacklist. Taking time/effort is worth it when all day long we hear just one ring and then my system disconnects them.
BTW, all this idiotic nonsense began within a week or so of when we signed up with the DO NOT CALL National Registry. Tried to reoport the violators but when the DNC National Registry investigators attempt to call the hang-up telemarketers, the phone numbers are nearly ALWAYS no longer a woreking phone number. If lawmakers or law enforcement groups or the FBI or anyone with capabilities of tracking down and shutting down these hang-up telemarketers, they could arrest, trial, and hang the scum, as far as I'm concerned, for all the grief & aggravation they give us all. Hanging is pretty drastic, but just the example of a few getting hung could put a STOP to it. Phones ringing and hanging up all day long, disturbs our peace in the home. Drives some folks nuts. I really firmly believe that NO ONE would ever knowingly be a customer of a business that uses hang-up telemarketers to aggravate & totally annoy consumers.
Do what you can to help fight these idiots. Keep sharing with others whatever you learn. If you EVER have the opportunity to encourage punishment/enforcement/law-making against these idiots, please use you persuasion to help us all put an end to this form of annoying telephone stalking. This pestilence, this trash affects cell phone and land line users alike. Maybe one day people will unite to fight these idiots and we could once more not be at the mercy of ringing phones that just hang up on you, not even bothering to tell you what product/products the company they represent sells. Or are they all scum-bag would be crooks trying to steal IDs? Good luck in your personal efforts to deal with this garbage. Thank you, "Who Called Us" for providing this forum where folks can connerct to report on these bad guys.

After numerous calls, I got it figured out how to stop these calls. Call 877-646-7319. I spoke to a person earlier this week who had my phone number removed from the caller's list and :) no calls since.

I think telemarketing to cell phones should never have been allowed because the call alone can cost the receiver of the call. I've asked to be removed from the list repeatedly. I must be on a lot of a lists.

Received a call from this number 5 minutes ago. I listened to the Spiel, and pressed 1 to get a representative. The phone rang about 10 times before I hung up. No representative at all. The automated message claimed to the the National Healthcare Association.

Received a call on my work phone from this number today. It was an automated message from "The Debt Department" offering me debt relief services. They must have changed their shpeel - nothing about health care plans.

2009-07-28 21:15:04 UTCEric

They left a message saying, "Hi Eric, I was just wondering where everybody is?" and when I called back it was an automated system asking if I wanted to be removed from their list...

I got a call from this number on my cell phone. WTF?

2009-07-28 19:42:44 UTCBryan Williams

They called saying they were selling health care plans. When a person answered the first thing I did is ask what company this is and they hung up.

By the way, I just registered this number at donotcall.gov. Hopefully that will prevent a repeat after 31 days (per law).

Spam call. Picked it up (which cost me 10 cents). I've saved it as "Ignore This" for future reference.

2009-07-28 14:38:15 UTCObi

I didn't pick up, because I was at work... They left a message though.
It was an automated call offering Health Care Insurance... "Press 1 to talk to someone, press 2 to be removed from the calling list"
I call BS/Scam

Credit card services robocall

2009-07-17 18:53:43 UTCMark

The usual identity thieves calling themselves "credit card services." They deserve to spend eternity chained in a cold dungeon with wet walls.

Rang yesterday at 2.58 peeyem local time. Hit IGNORE. Sorted.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
