This phone number is calling to try to SCAM money for the Fraternal Order of Police. I have NOT called the number, nor will I. It directs you to a customer service department that can answer questions using potentially manipulative techniques, help you waste your donation on fundraising fees, or anything else related to the FOP getting a small fraction of your donation, 12% to 27% Some fundraiser's pocket as much as 73% to 90% and up. Also, there’s information on badgefraud.org on the massive numbers of warnings put out by FOP Lodges that do not use so called professional fundraisers and Real Police and Sheriff and Fire Departments. But you can contact them there with any questions or requests.

BadgeFraud (dot) org is doing a lot of really great things for POLICE OFFICERS FAMILIES and the people that post are NOT trying to raise money, they are trying to protect the money of the people who protect us, and that is something very good.

i believe this is a scam. i just received a phone call purporting to be following up from a previous phone call - which has never existed. when i informed him that i have several friends and family members in the police department and i believe the police department does not and cannot solicit funds over the phone, he said he had a problem with the volume on his telephone. and then he hung up. same bogus excuse another poster here was given. complete scam. and trying to lure honest hard working people and hard earned money for a noble cause like supporting police makes these people even more despicable.

I get calls from this number constantly!! Gave in and answered the last time, the man asked for "the man of the house" and when I told him he wasn't home he ignored my questions and hung up on me. Seems like BS to me.

I just got a call that caller ID said was WA FOP but when I questioned the caller as to why he referenced a previous contact with us when we have had none he invented a bogus telephone volume problem, pretended to fix it and then disconnected us. He clearly had a script, and clearly didn't want to deviate from it or answer any questions from me. Don't trust these people.

I have several law-enforcement family members and they all say that if these clowns were any more crooked, the boys in blue would be paying them a visit, and it wouldn’t be to thank them for their community service! They are an eighteen-carat scam, don’t give them a dime.

just another no good charity. only 20% of the donation goes to whatever they claimed they do.
to stop them from calling, you'll have to answer them once, and just tell them to take your number off their calling list.
and don't feel guilty about it. these are just telemarketers. unless you want to spport their charity. not sure why though.

I complained to the Wa State Attorney General's office. They sent a nastygram to Corporations for Character, Inc., (“C4C”) a professional fundraiser for the Washington State Fraternal Order of Police Memorial Fund (“the FOP”), who then promised to stop calling. Have not received any calls since, and I hope it stays that way.

So, complain at fortress.wa.gov and let our Consumer Protection folks help you solve the problem!

I just didn't answer, 2 rings and they hungd up.

I called them back and got through. They swear they work for the WA State FOP - I asked her, then, why she was calling out of Bainbridge Island when they are in Kennewick. She did not have an answer for me, but "assured" me they collect for them.

They call often and at all different times. There was no listed name so I answered today and they hung up. I've been answering some of these types of call to tell them " No " in hopes they'll take me off list for time being. Yeah, sure!

Keeps calling my cell and my home. Not legit.

A man called saying they were from FOP and they were calling about a pledge my husband made. My husband never made a pledge nor did he ever talk with anyone. They hung up quickly. Previously they called on (425) 437-0641 (Maple Valley).

This is a phony group that each month, at a slightly different time, trolls for fake donations. They call themselves the "Washington Fraternal Order of Police." The legitimate group's name is actually "Washington STATE Fraternal Order of Police," with the real phone number of (509) 736-2079. They are not located on Bainbridge Island, either, but have always been in Kennewick, instead. As often as the real FOP has fought to shut these guys down, they pop up again a few weeks later, using new spoofed phone numbers. Next time they call, I think I'm going to play along with them and get as much info as possible. All one can really say right now is that whatever you do, do not give these people at this phone number any of your heard earned money!!!

They called at 10/11/09 at 01:00 AM. *69 indicated WA FOP. Called back and went to voice message and mailbox which could not receive messages. What are they calling me for at 1 AM!

Received a call from WA FOP FOUND from phone #206-866-1923 on 10/9/09.
Received a call from WA FOP FOUND from phone #425-437-0650 0n 10/10/09..

Caller ID call number 206-866-1923 and name WA FOP FOUND. Not aware of any such number for FOP.

Phone rang 4 times and stopped, no message. Caller ID showed WA FOP. Phone # 206-866-1923. Checked the web site and these were the numbers listed.

Missed the call on 09.09.09 at 7:09 PM but no message was left by the caller.

Also, I believe they are calling to get into your phone line to make their calls, play it safe and don't answer the phone - they don't leave messages. SCAMMERS!!!!

This is a scam!! They say they are the WA Faternal Order of Police and want donations, but they change their number and their name constantly! They now just list Bainbridge Island under the caller id. They have called me numerous times under different numbers and telephone listings. If you want to donate to this fund then donate via their website. Just google Faternal Order of Police in WA and it will list it. PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!!!! Do not trust anyone that calls you to donate money or give any personal information at all. If they called you they should already have your information. I am so sick of people spending so much time scamming others when they could put their brain to work at a real legit job!!!!

I called back this number, it's not going thru, a recorder saying I did not dial the right number.
