These jerks have been calling me from different numbers since early June. Usually they just hang up. Sick of them. Report to DNC - which I've been on since its inception and now I begin to think is a big joke, but it's worth a try.

When the answering machine picks up the female voice says that we have won a cruise, to accept the price, press 1, if you want to be taken of their call list, press 2. Since I never pick up a number I don't know, sort of hard to press the #2.

says political survey and wants to give a trip. I keep hanging up. If you all the number back to complain a voice with an accent just says unavailable and to call back. They also call from 2 other numbers.

They call my cell phone once or twice a day!. I have saved the number and labeled it "spam." When it comes up again, I'll know its these idiots.

Thanks Washington, for repealing the ban on unsolicited marketing to cell phones. Now I have to turn my ringer off or the phone is ringing all day long.

Robo calling bastards hitting all numbers sequentially.

Caller id said Ind Sur Group. Phone rang twice then they hung up - twice in 2 minutes.

2012-06-08 22:35:26 UTCshaun

pretended it was a political survey, but really selling travel cruises

I answered the phone and no one responded. I tried to cal the number back and I got a recording that said that the number was temporarily unavailable.

If this is for some kind of sale, this call is from the West Coast and I am on the East Coast, so I really don't believe that they are interested in making a sale all the way across the country.

can number lookups a scam

WHO MAKES THE MOST OFF YOU LOOKING UP PHONE NUMBERS. SOME SITES COULD BE RAILROADING PEOPLE THIS WAY BY CALLING AND HANGING UP ON YOU. KNOWING YOU WILL LOOK IT UP THEN THEY CAN MAKE MONIES BY THE NUMBER OF CLICKS ON ADS AS WELL AS TRACKING COOKIES.

The more you look up the more calls they make by using your internet IPO Address

"How do we make this stop?" Just check the manual for your phone service. For my provider, I can key in a number or simply tell the system to pick out my last incoming number, and then I have it forward all calls from that number to any other number I desire. One option would be to send all nuisance calls to 206-496-0950 (!) or another of my favorites. But I think the best bet is to forward it to 888-382-1222. That's the dialup number for the Federal Do Not Call Registry.

...Sorry, after dealing with these calls for years, I can tell you that the FDNCR is completely useless ... it does NOT work.

2012-06-08 20:47:45 UTCDo Not Call

Like a previous commenter stated, the line is open, but they never say anything when I say hello. Then several seconds later they disconnect the call (however THEIR number does not accept incoming calls - go figure). My number is on both the state and national Do Not Call lists, and I have reported them. So we'll see...

Nefarious bastards apparently feel that calling my home phone is not enough for their telemarketing scams, now they call my cell phone during business hours!! Cocksuckers are sidestepping the DO NOT CALL LISTs by saying it is a political call and that is just a load of crap that precedes their vacation cruise scam.

How do we make this stop?

2012-06-08 18:31:04 UTCRochelle P.

This is my cell phone # that they dialed. The # just pop's up,no ID name. How did they get my cell# ????

2012-06-08 17:45:30 UTCMAD AS HELL

WHEN ANSWER SAY ANY THING THIS NEEDS TO STOP CALLING ME PLEASE OR WILL BE LAWSUIT

2012-06-08 16:48:19 UTCmary

This is a scam. They ask some political questions, then offer a "free" cruise as a reward for answering. I read on another site that they are asking for credit card #s to cover "port taxes".

2012-06-08 15:49:54 UTCJ A Richards

bothersome call, line open but no one answered my hello when they called

2012-06-08 15:13:05 UTCNew Milford CT

This is a scam bypassing the National DoNotCall List by pretending to be an Independent Survey Group. They are actually a group giving (?) away free trips in order to lock you into future business transactions and getting your personal information.

2012-06-08 13:46:40 UTCGuy

Scam. Do a survey and supposedly you win a cruise.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
