called saying they were a survery company, didn't give him a chance to say much more. told him not to call back,,, annoying

They insisted that the National DNC List did not apply to them, because they were a "research" organization. Even if they were (unlikely), the risk you take in volunteering personal information to total strangers is far too great these days. I hung up.

They called earlier. Winnipeg is home to many call centers that do work for US corporations- I know because I used to work for one of them. If you put your name on the US DNC list they will, by law have to honor that. You can tell the person to stop calling and put you on their own DNC list and the vast majority will listen to you and do it. At least the one I worked for, we were very concerned and followed the law carefully. It usually took us a day or so to update the list. Though sometimes, if your number got on another campaign, that it may slip through.

By the sounds of it, they are doing opinion polling. Again, you just ask them not to call again and put yourself on the DNC. If you are dealing with a reputable outfit they will be courteous and leave you alone.

I received a call from this number. The caller hung up as I answered the phone.

Called our house three times within a 45 min period. Would not leave a message. Finally, we answered and couldn't understand a thing the guy was saying, and angerly told him to take us off his call list. Very annoying!!!

Got the "Manitoba" number on my answering machine. No message.

Our USA Fed "Do Not Call" system does not deal with Canadian area codes.

But I did find the USA Fed "Do Not Call" email address: dncconsumerinquiry2@ftc.gov

if we bug them enough, they might bug Canada about it a tad. One can only hope.

Called today first time about a Television Program Survey that they would send me in the mail. Told them not interested and hung up. Could not understand the man and he had to repeat it. He never gave a name of the company.

They keep calling. Don't leave a msg. I don't know anyone in Canada & it's really annoying me. I want it to stop!

I got 2 calls from this number today. I didn't get to the phone in time the first time. The caller identified herself as Audence Studies - and I had to ask her to repeat because of the peculiar accent.
She mentioned a sitcom and a survey. When she said 'household income' I hung up. I have reported
abusers of DNC before - not sure what you do with the out-of-country calls.

They called today... asked me some questions about TV shows and wanted to send me a DVD of a new show to wat NEXT TUESDAY... had to be NEXT TUESDAY and then they would call me next Wed and ask questions about it... I was going to do it, but then when asked my address I started to freak out a bit and hung up.

They just called here. Gave me a questionare:
I need to speak to a female in the house between 25 & 45
On a scale of 1-7, 1 being strongly disagree, 7 being strongly agree

then they want ot send a video to me. If I watch it on tuesday, they will call me on wednesday to ask market research questions.
If I complete the market researc, my name will be entered into a drawing......

Got a call twice in a row from this number that showed up as in Manitoba so decided to answer hoping to get rid of them. They identified themselves as(? didn't recognize it) marketing agency and asked my age (didn't answer), what my salary range is (didnt answer) if i watch TV dramas and how often. I checked out the number and found a listing for MTS Communications in Canada who are getting ready to launch a new digital tv service. Possibly a company trying to acquire a demographic for their new services?

Ok....what the heck.....Oregon here and it is almost 9 p.m. and those dumbo's are calling me??????? Wish they would stop calling....but what the heck......i don't know anything that Canada has contributed to or is known for so I guess pestering us Hard working Americans is better than NOTHING!!! I just can't remember the last time i was sitting around and thought.....wow.....Maybe I will go get some CANADIAN food. NOT!!!

Just what I need a another joker on the other end!

What's really weird is that I started receiving these calls very soon after I had asked another telemarketing company (Professional TE 727-828-0938)to take me off their list. The calls follow the same pattern - calling every day, sometimes multiple times a day, not leaving messages, and generally no one there if I actually do answer. Do you think these two companies are related?

Been getting these calls now for about a week, I NEVER answer the phone, I let the machine get it. I feel, if it is important, they will leave a message, otherwise, TOUGH LUCK!

After the 3rd time this number rang my phone today, I decided to answer it. It was a market research survey about TV shows and the woman had a VERY heavy Indian accent. They asked to speak to a woman in the household between the ages of 40 and 70. I lied and said there was nobody in that age range that lived here and also asked to be taken off the list. We'll see if they listened.

Received first call was this number a few minutes ago. I did not answer and shall not answer in the future.

Guy asked if I spoke Spanish, or anyone in household. Told him no.I knew this was just another marketing call because I've been getting quite a few from "Canada Calling" which shows on my telephone.

Called 3 times in 3 hours. Did not leave a message.

Why does Manitoba not honor our DNC list? I have had several calls from this company.

We are calling to conduct a survey...we don't want to sell you anything. We do research on children's magazines. Are you 18-34? NO Are you 35-60? Yes. Have you read Better Homes and Garden Magazine in the last 2 months. Yes. Have you read Redbook? No. If we sent one to you priority service would you read it next week on Tuesday? No. Is there another woman in the house who would read it? No. Okay, thank you very much. And end of call.

What do those magazines have to do with Children's Magazines??? Maybe they will stop calling.

This number called more than twice today. I only reported two instances of their calls for today (Aug 17th) Manitoba is Canada, so they ignore United States of America "do not call" lists. Who says Canada is a "friendly neighbor?" They never leave a message on the answer machine, but call over, and over, and over again.

Called at 6:56 PM. I answered, but no one was on the line.

Called twice 8/16/09. I did not answer since I have not seen this number before. They did not leave a message.

Received a call from this number on 08/14/2009. This is the first time I have gotten a call from this number. No message, and I did not answer because I don't know anybody in Manitoba.

This is second day in a row I have recieved a call from this number and at the same time of day..I don't know a soul in Manitoba, the caller does not leave a message and they did not talk when I answered today..

I received this call back on 7/24. They said they wanted to do a survey. I told them I was not interested.

They just called now, and did not leave a message. (first time receiving a call from this number) (no message = not important)

They keep callinga and hang up on the machine.They call every hour for 6 hrs everyday for the last two weeks

Hung up when answering machine came on.

They have called a few times never left a messgage...last time they called the message was a lot of noise like wind or something for a few seconds.

They keep calling like every 10 minutes since 2PM. They should at least leave a message and if they don't is because they are not important!
