How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Gave my number to "Great Clips" in Texas and in Michigan too. Ever since then I've been getting calls from different numbers.
got a call from this # on my emergency only cell. only immediate family have that cell's #. Something about a car warranty but I don't own a car. Talk about blatant autodialing scammers.
Got 3 calls on 3-23 on my cell from same number who called a few days earlier to offer extension of warranty. I had told them before never to call again but they never stop, it actually seems worse, HELP. I don't pick up anymore but I can't memorize all spammers phone numbers!
this was a missed call my phone was off whilst i puked my guts into a bucket. glad i didnt answer, i looked up the area code and saw that it was from dc.
I have been trying to determine who I've given my cell phone number out to, and I realized I had given it to a Quizno's Online Survey at tellquiznos.com. Has anybody else here also done this survey? If not, we can exclude it as an unlikely possibility.
Don't call, period!!!!
called me and my boyfriend today
got 2 calls from here today. the number is for medical emergencies only. Calls like this could endanger getting medical help when needed. There should be consequences for these companies.
i have been constantly recieving calls from this number .. i hope that it stops!
Did a reverse look up and it was Tyrell Anderson in Washington DC. Called back and got an "all lines busy" recording. Suspect it is a car warrant scheme as I have gotten a lot of those lately.
I just got a call from this number too.
nice to see that other people have had similar calls.
Call to Verizon cell. I did not answer, never answer unsolicited numbers. Google on this caller, seems to be a scam.

Thanks for clarifying this for me. I got a call today @ 3:11 EST. Called back a trick number.
I got another call like this from a town named Gaylord, Michigan of all places.
This was on a private cell I use.
This is one of many numbers from which they call you about auto insurence, everytime different state, but this guy called me twice. There is anybody that can do something? This is really big scam.

My boyfriend keeps getting calls from car warranty places. Put your cell phones on the do not call list, I did mine and I don't get the calls. The company's do sell your name and numbers.
They called me at 12:00pm on Monday 03.23.09 and they didn't leave message. I relly can't understand what they can gain from this call.I hope that someone will take care about the people who are using this number. They called me before when I had T-Mobile and now I had At&t. When I called T-Mobile and told them about this problem they told me that I can buy block number service.I didn't buy that service and I think that this person is working for any phone company to make us furious that we can buy that service. What else is the reason that they call us?
Called today on my cell, didn't leave a message.
I've received several calls from this number- usually no message is left. However, I read a few comments about car warrantees, and I believe I've received messages on my home phone from the same number. Really annoying since I get the calls often.
Called today on my cell. I did not answer, no message left.
Second call received from this number. Unknown name and number. Left no vmail. Figured it was like the other calls received from some bogus car warranty company. Received bogus calls from different numbers attempting the same scheme in the past. These unscrupulous entities use different numbers to call from at random. Expect to received similar calls from a different number in the future.
Got the call, no msg.
i got verizon and they call on the daily
It's not sprint--it's everyone. I'm getting these obnoxious calls, too, and I use AT&T. I get them a few times a week, nd even on my work line (it's a business phone number). My husband gets them, and his cell is T-Mobile. It doesn't matter if you hit a number to talk to a person. The moment you say you don't want the warranty for the car, they hang up on you. I tried this and when I said "I want to be removed from. . ." they didn't even wait until I was finished saying it. Do they think that by not removing people and pissing them off they're going to generate business? The phone number from which it originates changes all the time, and they have a way to make it look like it's coming from a particular number when it really isn't. I think they are randomly dialing numbers to see if they're active and they proceed from there.
To the person who thinks Obama shold stop "lying" about AIG and deal with these sleazy car warranty guys, you are a complete moron.
Right, the administration should devote all their energy to the fake car warranty people. Forget about the high stakes gamblers who helped cause a meltdown of the entire world financial system.
Would it kill you to get an education?
Shmuck.
Greg, you might be right. I just got a call on my cell (also sprint) and immediately checked for the number. I hit Ignore and now it seems I have a voice mail message, which I will not check until after peak hours. I wonder if Sprint is selling the numbers. Glad my contract is up in June.
Cell phone rang, at work, answered with headset, no response. Disconnected blu-tooth, looked up call history, call came from 202-610-3068. Did a reverse lookup and found call from Washington, D.C. Tyrell Anderson. Noted all the comments here about car warrantee. I've been getting a lot of these calls lately. This is the first time I tried looking up the number (not sure the older calls were same number or not right now). These calls have been going to all three of my families cell phones (including my kids phone for 11 and 9 year olds). This must stop. What is the best way to report this to get it stopped?
I've tried hitting different digits during the recording and never was able to get a person to demand being taken off their calling list. I'm on the Do Not Call list. I have not done business with this person (as far as I can tell). These 3 cell phones are less than 2 months old. Is Sprint selling the numbers to advertising agencies? If I were paying per call, and in a way I am because it's using up my minutes, I would be super upset.
this number is scam ,keep listen then and say fk to them, this number 202 610-3068 call me every day try to rob money
This number was shown on my phone also. A google search says it belongs to Tyrell Anderson (202) 610-3068 1715 Minnesota Ave SE, Washington, DC 20020
DC #, I just got this number, so NO ONE'S got my # yet, so I didn't answer. They left no msg. Hope I don't start getting more calls.

these people called my house and cell phone which they left no message. can someone tell me who there are.?????
My cell phone is on the "Do Not Call List". But, today, 20MAR2009 it received an illegal call from 202-610-3068 which has been traced to a con-artist company criminal gang involved in scam "car warranty services". For verification, I tried calling the number. On the first ring, the criminals play a voicemail fake recording of "this number has been disconnected". Caller ID number could be spoofed.
This guys are calling my cell all the time. Finally I pressed 1 to talk to someone. I asked who they were and they said they were "Car warranty services" name of the caller was "Chris" when I asked more details, including their phone number they hang up on me. Apparently it is OK to spam to my cell with unwanted calls but if you try to know who is calling you than it is not OK. This ought to be criminal!
Came to my cell, I didn't answer it. no msg left, I did look up & found a DC # & many threads about bogus calls.
called cell today... didn't pick up, no message
I immediately returned the call and a message advised that the number was disconected.. Real suspicous
i gotta call 4rm dis fool at 1:41 PM on 3-21-09
no message left so i'm assuming it wasn't inportant
Yeah I got the same stuff off google that you guys found. Tyrell Anderson in DC. I didn't pick up. They didn't leave a message. First time, and the call came over at 1:44pm on a Saturday. How does this scam work? What do they hope to get out of you?
I get a call for a warranty every day almost from a different number!!! they need to be stopped
I just got the call today on my cell phone, before my mom, sister, and my dad all got calls too. One of my mom's coworkers gave her the number for the "do not call list", just call 888-382-1222 from the number you want deleted.
he called you and its a scam. They most likely got your number from the Google Phonebook, you can remove your name from it to stop the calls.
yeah they just called me today too march 21, 2009 at 12:20pm. i didnt answer it because i didnt reconise the number since i am in a 978 area code.
I got the call from this number as well. I have traced the number back to the PROVIDER of the lines and have been given a few numbers to contact deeper into their organization. However, as I dig more and more into it they just ignore my requests to resolve the harassing calls.

Just wasted 10 min of my life thinking about this and now I'm done.
I wish Obama and his buddies would stop lying about AIG and do something constructive such as stop these sleezy bastards from trying to steal from people.
cheers,
pwr
Called my T-Mobile cell phone at 9:20 AM on a Saturday. "This is the second notice that the factory warranty on your vehicle..." Fuck them. I work late and they spam me when I'm trying to sleep?!

Picked up the phone, and they hung up.
CALLED MY CELL AT 9:13
This number called me, so I googled it. I saw the name and a map to the address. I saw a street view of the address and it does not look like a place of business. Soon after I told my friend, she recieved a call from the same number.
Called my cell phone stating my car warranty was about to expire. Annoying!!!
I picked up but didn't say anything. Nobody came on the line.
factory car warranty on vehicle.... i don't have a new vehicle.... this is the first call to my cell, but received same call on home number too not a month ago.
Someone from this number called my cell. I didn't answer but they left no message
Called my cell phone. Couldn't pick up. Googled the number, found this site. I have gotten car warranty calls in the past so this could easily have been one. Certainly I don't know Tyrell Anderson in DC.
I pressed one so I could call them and Say i was agent Moss from the BBB and that you are being served. Unfortunately no one answered.
It called my cell. I didn't pick up, because these car warranty calls have become so frequent.
Didn't answer but probably another factory car warranty call again.
I got a call from "Warranty Service Center" with this as the number being called claiming to be about my car warranty. I have received at least 10 of these calls.
Very loud female recording claiming my factory car warranty was about to expire.
unknown caller - probably those extended warranty scammers
I answered, was a recording that claimed my car warranty is about to expire (my car is 8 years old and many years out of warranty), I should press 1 to speak to someone
